I am trans and at no point did anyone make me feel the least bit uncomfortable. Grace did my first ever piercings, 2 sets in my ears. She was pleasant, communicated well, and she made me feel at ease. The piercings themselves barely hurt, and she provided good aftercare instructions. I would highly recommend Grace to anyone getting their first piercing.

I put the hoop back on but could not figure out how to close it. I called blue Lotus and asked if they would help me re close the hoop. Phone answered told me to come in so I drive the 10 miles and when I get there they tell me theirs a charge for closing my hoop. It's all of maybe 1 minute and after $130.00 plus purchase they're not willing to help a customer! Don't expect customer service once they're done. Very expensive and shitty customer service. EDIT: Since I can't reply to their reply I'll put it here. First, I was offered the 2 o'clock time to come in by your phone answerer and she could have told me about the charge at that time, but didn't. Second. No price was given until drive the 20 minutes to your place. In fact I was told it's up to the person doing it maybe he'd charge maybe not. When I got upset it was because someone sort of yelled out, I'm charging, but no mention of price. Still I didn't yell at anyone, I merely stated you'd be getting the review you deserve, and left. Third. As for wishing me luck, I ended up getting a new gold hoop and put in my ear same day, no form to fill out and here's the kicker. You guys totally ripped me off last year. I paid $20 (and a big tip) for the hoop and the bit of work instead of the $150.00 you guys got out of me... If you guys had your shit together you would've know I'd been a customer several times throughout the years. So as I said. Customer retention.... Bad...

I got my first lobe piercings done here when I was 12, and couldn't have been happier with them! You get the earrings and a bottle of store brand cleaner. I went back at 16 to get double lobe piercings done and the sales associate was just as friendly as the first time! I even went back a little over 4 months ago to get a helix done, and I got way more information than the girl was trained to give. Lots of wisdom in how to care for different types of piercings. She was wonderful! I love Claire's for their cost effective jewelry and their spectacular staff. I can't wait to go back!

But, I find it very annoying and discouraging that EVERY SINGLE TIME I come into this establishment at both locations (East Towne AND West Towne) I am always followed around the damn store. Not only do I get my own personal escort around the store, I am constantly asked if I need help finding anything. (I haven't even spent a minute in the store and was asked 3-4 times) Okay, now we all know how small this place is. I am sure I can find the hair bows along the wall on my own, now please go and help the 5 other customers in the store and let me browse. Thank you. No, Claires, I am not interested in stealing any of your items that were imported from China, I am not interested in stealing the unicorn earrings and the headbands with the cat ears, I am not interested in stealing any of the beanie babies that are 5 times more expensive than the ones I can find at your local grocery store or even Walmart. I am 30 years old, I am not 3. So please, let me browse and buy your overpriced items for my 7 year old daughter just so she can say she "got it at Claire's in the mall." I honestly really like their little trinkets and cute little items they have here in the store but it is very difficult to shop in an environment when you feel that you are being singled out. I don't walk into any establishment hooting and hollering and causing all kinds of ruckus, I am simply just browsing and looking for some cute bows for my little girl. So I would highly recommend Claire's retrain all of their associates and teach them that if they are going to follow someone around, be more discreet and please... take advantage of all of the resources available for them to prevent theft in the store.

Review / Complaint About My Experience With David at Steve's Tattoo…read moreI've been getting tattooed at Steve's Tattoo for years -- by Steve himself and by many artists who've come and gone, including David, who this review is specifically about. Up until recently, I actually liked David's work. He's done multiple tattoos on my sleeve and even tightened up some older pieces to make everything flow together. His talent can be great when he actually tries. But what happened this year is something people deserve to be warned about. 1. The First Red Flag Last year David tattooed a tarot card of my dog on my bicep. The work turned out great, but his behavior that day was... off. He was short, rude, and uninterested in even basic communication. I brushed it off as a bad day. We talked afterward about finishing my sleeve, so I assumed things were fine. 2. October 26th Appointment - The Point Where Everything Went Sideways I booked an appointment for October 26th at noon to finish some filler on my sleeve. What actually happened: He made me wait over 30 minutes just to start setting up. He barely spoke and acted irritated from the second I walked in. I explained what I needed: the same pattern and color he started near my wrist, carried up the rest of the arm. I put my headphones in because the tension was so uncomfortable. While he was tattooing, it felt like he kept going over the same spots repeatedly. I have tattoos on my neck and feet -- I know what tattoo pain and swelling look like. This was different. When I looked, the area was extremely red, raised, and bleeding more than anything I've ever had. When I got home, I realized why: He only used ONE color -- and it was the WRONG color. The design didn't match my sleeve at all. It looked sloppy, rushed, and honestly more like flames than the pattern he originally created. It already looked like something that will age terribly. I emailed him politely because I was genuinely afraid I had somehow upset him and he did this intentionally. That's how uncomfortable and off his behavior was. He told me to come back on December 10th so he could "fix it." 3. December 10th - The Gaslighting & Disrespect I went to my appointment today hoping he would make it right. Instead: He completely gaslit me. He insisted the tattoo "is the same" (it absolutely is not). He claimed "there's no room," "it would look crowded," and "that's the best he can do." When I showed him the areas that are clearly different, he just argued and dismissed everything. And then he said the part that really tells you everything you need to know: "I don't want to work on it anymore." "You're being too emotional." "I just don't feel like it." He refused to finish the work he messed up. I begged, I reasoned, I even offered to pay him AGAIN just to fix the damage -- because I've already had multiple artists start and stop this sleeve and I wanted the same person to finish it. He didn't care. When I asked for Steve's contact info, he refused to give it to me. When I turned to look for a business card, he literally yelled at me: "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? THE DOOR IS RIGHT THERE." He treated me like trash and threw me out of the shop after knowingly giving me a tattoo that doesn't match, isn't the right color, and was done so aggressively that it raised and bled more than any tattoo I've ever had. 4. Why I'm Warning People I've never disrespected an artist. I tip well. I sit still. I don't complain. I've never caused a scene or been rude. There was absolutely no reason for him to treat me the way he did. And here's the truth: **If David gives you work you don't like, he will NOT fix it. He will gaslight you, blame you, and then kick you out.** I don't know if he was having a bad month, a bad year, or if something happened between appointments. But what I DO know is this: What he did to my arm was careless and nothing like the work he is capable of when he actually tries. And the way he treated me -- after years of being a good client -- was inhumane, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. People deserve to know.

Avoid Tattoo Addiction at All Costs -- They Will Ruin Your Ink and Then Blame You…read more I am beyond fed up with this place. This isn't a one-off mistake--this is the third person I know who's walked away from Tattoo Addiction with a botched, low-quality tattoo. The most recent disaster was my friend's deeply personal and sentimental piece, which the artist carelessly altered without consent, completely deviating from the approved design. Even worse, the artist clearly lacked the language skills to properly understand punctuation in English--an essential detail for a lettering tattoo. As a result, the tattoo ended up with a glaring and awkward gap, where an apostrophe was meant to be. That gap makes the piece look sloppy. When my friend tried to resolve the issue professionally, the manager, Emma, refused a refund and offered only a half-baked fix--adding punctuation--completely ignoring the larger issue: the placement and spacing were already ruined. Now, my friend is facing painful and expensive laser removal just to undo the damage caused by this shop's incompetence. Let me be clear: Tattoo Addiction is not a place for meaningful or even remotely precise work. They clearly employ underqualified artists who lack both skill and professionalism. There is no accountability, no respect for the client's vision, and no understanding of how serious a commitment a tattoo is. If you value your body, your story, or your time--stay far away from Tattoo Addiction.
