Even worse, it's not just the architect that is to blame. The line painting in this garage encourages parking in ways that make it near impossible to exit your car once you park it. Anyway, I'd recommend people use this garage in about 10-20 years, once the existing painted lines fade and can be repainted with some non-idiotically painted lines.

The Convention Center garage has no discount for the first 90 minutes of parking nor parking after 5pm, nor parking on weekends. $15 flat fee for event parking during the Center for Performing Arts events, one hour before event through one hour after event, 630pm-1130pm weekdays. The only people who park here are convention attendees who can write off the $30 daily fee as a business expense, or people visiting the Tech museum, who are charged $5. Hence the place was empty at 6pm Wednesday.

Because we didn't want to manage our luggage in the shuttle, we dropped off our friends at the airport with all our baggage. After the drop off, we drove to Spring Park per Google Maps, but it's the exit that we were lead to and NOT the entrance. When we asked the exit person where to go, we drove around to the back. When we booked online, we chose indoor self-park which is on the third floor. After parking, we met up with the shuttle bus which took about 10 minutes of wait time. Upon our return, we did everything in reverse order. While our friends waited for the luggage at the carousel, we called Spring Park and waited at the very last spot in the center isle. Admittedly, it's a bit of a walk (short to me, but may be long to others), so I'm glad I didn't have to drag the heavy luggage. After a 10 minute wait, the shuttle arrived and took us to the entrance which is in the back of the building. Overall, a very good experience with some prior planning.

The system wouldn't let me unless I pay a full hour's price. I again tried to look for some people to talk to, but all they had was some intercom line. I called but found it impossible to reason with the guy at the other end. Not only did he refuse to open the gate, though I entered not by choice and it was only seconds ago, but he also simply hung up on me all of a sudden, in the middle of me talking. I had to call this person again to ask him who his supervisor was, only to hear that he himself was, and he hung up again. The way he treated with me was both unreasonable and lack of basic respect. Therefore, I'm using the remaining hour to write about this experience.
