Bait and switch- BEWARE!!! I rented a garage based on the rates advertised on the internet in February. Signed up for auto pay - after just 3 months at the original price, I noticed my rate increased by $67/month!. A 10x20 went from $189 to $256 without warning. I reached out repeatedly without a response. When I went to the office, the woman working said she was on break, and if I needed to speak to her, I would need to call the office to schedule an appointment! Everything needs to be handled by appointment. Mind you- they don't return calls, so it's a no win. The current advertised rate online for a 10x20 is $121, but I just received an email informing me that the new rate as of January 2026 is $315!!! We moved out. I don't trust this place. read more

The staff are horrible. Never was supplied a lock that they charged me for so bought my own. They cut it off and told me that my lock isn't appropriate yet neglected to mention why or what I should buy, instead left my unit unsecured. The only staff I've seen here were here yelling at their kids who were fist fighting and driving ATVs around the units, really approachable! read more

Crooks, just absolutely highway robbers! Recently they've bumped up the rental costs while simultaneously cutting off all the normal lighting! Basically LED nightlights for hallway lights. It's insane. Used to be timer light switches by the entry doors but those are all gone. I went to get something out of my rental space, in the middle of the day but the lightning is so bad now I couldn't see into my unit.. but my rent just jumped a quartwe.. again I say they're Crooks!! read more

The reason I'm giving it such low stars is I think the way Public Storage attracts business nation-wide is a scam. You go to their website and they offer $1 for the first month. I called to see what the deal really was as that sounded too good to be true. The person on the phone confirms it's a $1 for the first month but there is an administrative fee so the first month is really $23 + tax. I clarify: if I cancel within the first month that's all I pay? Answer: Yes. So they set me up for a 10x7.5 foot space and say their manager is going to call to confirm within the hour. I tell them I don't need the space today and they say no problem, they can hold the reservation until Thursday and as long as I show up at this location any day up to Thursday I can get the deal. It sounds good to me so they set me up in their system for this. Someone does call later in the day and as I was busy they leave a message. They say they had just rented that particular space out and they wanted to discuss other options with me (this probably should have been my first warning that something was up as they're automated). I don't call back because I figure no big deal - they had the $1 online special for all their spaces and I could fit my things into a smaller 5x5 space - so worst case scenario I'd do that. I show up a couple of days later on Tuesday - two days before the stated reservation end date - and am told by the young man working there that because I didn't call back I lost my reservation and the prices were all normal prices now. I told him that the person I had talked to on the phone confirmed the deal was good through Thursday and he said nope, even for a 5x5, there was no $1 deal as my deal expired Monday, which wasn't even the day I had called and made the initial reservation. That made no sense to me so I started asking him how Thursday reverted to Monday and he got very agitated. That's where I got the impression that he had to answer questions like this often because he wasn't even curious as to the details of my phone call with "California" (the main reservation line? It's what he called them) - his responses were reflex. He was polite considering the circumstance and I actually felt bad that he had to deal with a parent company that scammed customers into "reservations" that they had no intention of keeping. Thankfully I had a little time to play with and found Uncle Bob's Self Storage 15 minutes away, which is where all my stuff is now. But if someone is on a tight schedule and they show up at Public Storage thinking they're going to get a great deal for the first month - they're probably going to have a nasty surprise - and will end up paying full price. read more

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. NEVER USE THE UNITS HERE. They have rodent infestations, chewed holes into my couch and pissed and shit all over it. water in the ceilings that is NEVER taken care of. Employees lack customer service beyond belief. Administration has horrible people skills. Do not use public storage. Nothing but scam artists. PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE. Personally had a tarp over important documents the entire 6 months I had a unit there because of water damages to the ceiling that were never taken care of. Steer clear of this place , i rented my unit in October of 2018 for 125.00 i just went to pay my premium today which had been 183.00 that's how much it increased and my new rate is 213.00 never recieved notice of this , it has gone up almost 100 in 3 years the last two being a pandemic, DO not use this place unless you want to hand over your money , not one improvement has been made either , take my advice use different company read more

Called to find out about availability and prices and the girl on the phone said I should hold it now if I wanted it with a credit card and then come in and fill out paperwork the day of our move. It snowed the day of our move and we couldn't get anything out of our house. Called and called and called no answer. month later I got my bank statement and was billed for the entire month. Never moved in. Never signed a thing. when I finally got a kid on the phone he said he would ask if he could get it refunded. No call back. No follow up. They hardly ever answer the phone. Just booked a different facility and need it for a year. I have a long memory and won't ever use them. read more

This place is the biggest scam- I sent a co worker to open up a second unit and they changed them 20% more than me and 25 bucks for paper work fees- and of course no refunds or credits- avoid these scammers at all cost- oh and the security fence has been broken for over a month read more

I've rented storage units over the years many times and this is by far the biggest cheating of whying scanning company I have ever come across. They advertised the 1st land for a dollar but that's not true when you get there and fill out the paperwork You didn't get it because I didn't read my paper were thoroughly I've gotten fucked out of the $1 a month and they won't make good on it. Are you being called corporate they just keep repeating over and over and over again there's no negotiating that's it so I'm going to be suing them I talk to an attorney friend of mine and I'm going to Sue them for 3 times a damages will see with that cost them. I've had to lower my rating on this business from 2 stars to 1 star for the following reason. Shortly after the initial review was posted the corporate office of public storage reached out to me for information and feedback. This conversation lasted one hour. They were unhappy with the low rating, offered the usual platitudes we don't do business this way and assured me of looking into the situation and my satisfaction. A district manager followed up thanking me for the feedback and information and regrets on my poor experience. This person further asked what they could do to improve my opinion of the company and amend the poor review. I suggested a one month refund of rent totaling 190.00 and letter of apology and I would be happy to cooperate. They would get back to me. The next call was higher up the corporate ladder with an angry tone. Instead of understanding, compassion and appreciation I heard " that's a lot of money " , received an ultimatum, terms to be followed and expectations of a more generously posted review, not at all what I was expecting let alone warmly received by me. They chose profits over customer service and satisfaction. That's too bad. read more

The only thing that made Public Storage stand out compared to other storage companies was the $1 rent they advertise. This advertisement is a complete lie. It was actually $36 for the first month. Also, your rent can go up without any notice. I don't like that at all. It was either pay the new price or rent a truck and move all my stuff to another storage facility. The workers on site are very nice but sometimes there's only one person and it takes a lot longer than it should to get one thing done because the worker has to help you and also answer the phone. When I'm home and need to call, sometimes the office doesn't answer. At least they have a corporate customer service line so that there is someone to talk to immediately. I've had to rely on storage units in the past and I've dealt with much better companies who actually backed up their advertising of $1 for the first month. I called to reserve a container and not once did they mention the requirement that we buy insurance coverage from them, nor the initial administration fee nor the required special lock for an additional $21.00. I should give this company a 0 for the deceptive practices. All costs should be upfront and not disclosed only when you're at their place with a truck loaded with no other alternative. Then the storage room was halfway down the hallway not just inside the door as promised and the rope on the light was missing so I had to stack boxes 3 feet high to get to the light. read more

I believe the customer service when i went was outstanding. She made sure i understood how it works given i never put anything in storage before. Had a lot of patience with all my silly questions, which at the moment was much appreciated. Lastly the location and security is great. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

I used to store my car in connecticut but when asking around about storage facities this one came highly recommended.The people are great especially Pam .She is extremely nice and very professional and did a great job helping me with any questions I had.The facility is clean and very well run and as mentioned the staff is great! I was in the hospital and sent a family member to pay on my unit, it was the last day of the month so it needed to be paid that day or they would have charged me more. The said family member got there just in time before they closed and when he tried to make the payment they wouldn't take it which added more fees to my account needless to say I couldn't pay the more then $300.00 they wanted and they refused to work with me in any way and my stuff was auctioned off after 2 years of being a customer that's how they treat you if you value your property don't take it here they are the worst absolutely no compassion at all read more
