Every move had been such a nightmare in the past so we spent some time looking for a moving company that had good reviews and a solid website that provided a lot of information. When we found Boomerang Moving, we liked the fact they required a small deposit to assure the commitment from both parties. We mentioned that we have allergies so we were going to purchase new moving blankets. And they responded that they have new blankets coming in so they were going to reserve some for us as well. They came out to our house within a few days to give us a quote. On the day before our moving day, we received a courtesy call confirming our move. The next day, the moving crew showed up right on the appointment time. They were very friendly, professional and careful. However, during the move a leg of an office desk got damaged. The furniture company we purchased the desk from suggested replacing the desk rather than trying to fix it. We asked Boomerang Moving if we could use their insurance to cover some of the cost. To be honest, because of experiences we had had in the past with moving companies, we did not expect them to cover any of the cost but Scott, the owner of Boomerang Moving, was very responsive and courteous and replaced the desk within TWO DAYS! We were so happy with this high level of customer service we decided to contribute some money to the cost of the replacement desk. I could not possibly say enough wonderful things about this company. Don't let the name fool you Boomerang Storage is not just for storage, they are an amazing moving company too. They were absolutely amazing helping me to move from my four story home. I was in need of help and fast. Scott the owner was quick to respond and easy to deal with from start to finish. Both of the guys who worked the day of my move were relentless in making sure they got as much work accomplished in as little time as possible and they truly treated my possessions with care. I have not found this to be the case with most moving companies I have used. I have relocated quiet a bit having lived both abroad and far from my home state for the last decade. Not having friends or family to help has often made moving a miserable experience, but not with Boomerang to the rescue. Mickey, whom Scott refers to as his right hand man, even went so far as to chuckle when I urged them to take a break. I now know Boomerang specializes in helping college students who need a place to store things in between semesters. As I was down sizing my home it was an added bonus when I was able to temporarily store some items in their warehouse for a nominal fee. Boomerang to the rescue! Due to some unforeseen and really ugly circumstances, my son was at the end of his rope trying to suddenly move out, find storage, and find a new place to live. He frantically asked me to find the storage space, and I googled places near Northampton. It was just past closing time and yet Mickey answered the phone, and saved the day for my kid and for my husband and me. After explaing my son's predicament I was thrilled to learn that there was a team of movers who would do all the work of unloading the truck and storing his things. Just what my kid needed! I was able to schedule an appointment for the next morning that was convenient for my son, and the minute he got the truck to the loading dock Mickey reassured my son that everything was gonna be alright and that they had his back. The whole team unloaded the 10x20 UHaul truck and had everything organized and stored away in an hour! My son was so grateful, and so am I. Just as the name implies, my items went out to storage at their facility and several years later, it came right back to us in exactly the shape and order we sent it in! Boomerang Moving and Storage moved two bedrooms of furniture from my home in Berkshire County in western Massachusetts to southern Maine. They communicated in a timely manner to schedule this move, and Mickey and Tyler arrived promptly at the arranged time. They immediately got down to business, efficiently loading all the furniture and boxes. They were professional, congenial, and accommodating, and they took great pains to not bump any furniture on bannisters, walls, woodwork and doors. They arrived in Maine in good time, quickly unloaded the furniture and reassembled the beds. The furniture sustained no damage, and the rate for this move was extremely reasonable! I used Boomerang in order to move/store a variety of items for the summer. In addition to being polite and quick they took great care of all my stuff making sure that everything was moved with care (even larger items like my bed & fridge which I imagine are quite hard to lift). They had fantastic customer service and even had a "Boom Box" with them so that I could package some of my smaller items both safer and more cost effective. This was really a testament to the way they treat customers as they could have charged me for each small individual item but instead put them in the "Boom Box" for a better price. This was our second time hiring a mover (hopefully our last) and I have nothing but great things to say about Boomerang Moving & Storage. Great to work with btw! Micky, Kyle, and Andy were AWESOME! Terrible service. They did not show up during the scheduled time to pick up the items from my dorm. They then were unresponsive to phone calls as I tried to contact them regarding why they did not show up. Then during the period in which they were supposed to return my items, they only gave one week notice, in which I was not available, to register for drop off. They then began charging for extra fees that were nearly as much as the original storage cost. I'll be lucky if my items aren't damaged when I get them back. Update/Edit: Customer Service addressed several of the issues and assisted me in a very professional manner. read more

Sorry for the delayed review guys. We hired Boomerang for our move back in December and was sure glad we did. We researched several local movers around the area and we found these guys to have a great crew with positive attitudes which made the day of the move that much better. They also provided storage for 2 months for our things while finished building our new home. Aside from their chipper attitude (which I don't understand considering how hard they worked), they were extremely polite, professional and moved quickly not to waste a buck. We move alot, and have used several different moving companies with varying results, mostly average. This is the first time we used Boomerang and we couldn't have been be more satisfied. The staff is very friendly and professional. We were given a free estimate , which was very fair. The move was seamless and fast, yet done with absolute care to our furniture. The estimated 4 hour move was done in 3 hours and our actual payment was less than estimate. Moving is incredibly stressful and Boomerang Moving made the stress go away. We got estimates from 3 different movers. A were respectful, informative. Boomerang happened to be the lowest by a fair amount. I called Scott, and he came out and looked again, and because of all the tools we own, increased the estimate some. Still the lowest! Based on the Yelp reviews, we went with them. Mickey, the crew leader was fantastic, and the other three worked extremely hard, not even taking a lunch break! The final cost was between the 2 estimates. We had Mickey come to our apartment to do a walkthrough, and he very accurately estimated the amount of time/labor/cost for us to move. Day of, Tyler and Christian were excellent. These guys were great! Our move from Holyoke to Hatfield was a very long day and Mickey and crew never stopped ! They were polite, careful and fast and their communication was terrific.
