Not that it will stop anything because I found two people on that facility that had their stuff stolen because someone took the screws out from the unit walls behind it and stole all their stuff because they are so cheaply built. While I was talking to the police about my break in a lady walks up asking about her break in from Feb 3rd and said they came back the night before to steal the rest of her stuff. I lost over $25,000.00 and insurance will never cover it and they stole everything except my wife's yard decorations. They raise the rent after you get in there, they promise two free month's rent, give you one and you have to bitch to get the 2nd month then they'll jack up the rent the next month to recoup what they just gave you. I've used a lot of storage units over the years and this has been the worst. They knew these break ins were happening but they haven't done anything to increase security or notify people to check their units because they know people will move out. The thefts at my facility feel like someone in the company is giving out lock combinations others are losing their property because of the ease of breaking the latches. This company operates under a number of company names and I wouldn't use any one of them. I was in a big hurry when I had to move in and didn't read the reviews or I would not have gone with this company or facility. Converse, TX and San Antonio as a whole sux and we are moving away from this whole area ASAP. I lived in Houston for 60 years with no crime. Moved to SA and my truck was broken into to get nothing out of the truck, people tried to break in my home in Universal City twice, nice neighborhood, had to draw my weapon to stop two muggings and now I lost $25,000.00+ of vintage musical equipment because I trusted this storage facility. I know it was automated but while I was dealing with the police I received a notice I needed to pay my March bill for $148.95. My bill started at $79.00/mo in July 2025. Store you crap here at your own risk because these people are 100% automated and good luck getting anything resolved. When I called in they had an option to file a break in report like it was an everyday thing. It appears they know their operation better than I do and they are just fine with it, just file the insurance and they can keep doing business as usual and will not do anything to address these horrible negative reviews.

This is an experience I had with ExtraSpace Storage at 9482 FM1518. We've been a tenant on and off…read morefor about a year since it was LockAway and have been satisfied after meeting the site manager; even with the shaky transition. The site manager, Lyle C, were helpful, pleasant and efficient; impressive feet for such a young gentleman. Though I had a few issues with the unit (leaking metal roof, outlet malfunction, inability to open the front gate remotely, and floor defects), Lyle was quick to troubleshoot and got all the issues taken care of in a very timely manner and immediately took care of 3 items; will update on the last item as time progresses. The storage units have withstand the time since LockAway but still relatively sturdy. The new management is showing promise; they have been enforcing policies, disallowing certain suspicious and dangerous activities that the previous tenants have been doing prior to the changeover. They have also installed extra LED night lights, which made the location feel much more secure. Storage is always monitored by cameras; though there were some gate issues previously, it has recently been fixed as well. Because of the convenience of the location, how well-lit and monitored, enhanced by site manager Lyle's great leadership, we will continue stay customers for now. Keep up the good work ExtraSpace FM1518 and Lyle!
