Very helpful property manager. I drove up from Florida, and called her an hour before I was going to be there, told her what I was storing and she was ready for a unit when I got there. Turns out it didn't meet my accommodation needs, personal preference and she quickly suggested other options both at her location, and others near by. Ended up turning the unit down, and then realized an hour later (after it was closed) that I was going to need the unit. Property manager stayed late to help me out and now I am a happy customer. read more

Beware if you want the unit for more than a couple months. Everything was fine initially. Good location, clean unit. Then after four months, my rent increased from $46 to $65 with one month's notice. Then two more increases to where I am now paying $100/mo. read more

Don't rent from Public Storage if you need space for more than a couple months. My second month real rate was $175.17. 5th month raise to $226.00 11th month increase to $288.00 12th month to 243.00. If you went on the website to rent a new unit the month rate (no discounts) was list at $158.00 When I called to complain...they said "oh our contract tells you that we are going to raise your rates every few months." My rent was increased by $40 dollars within three months since I rented the space without initial disclosure when I first rented the storage space that the rent could go up any time. When I did market research other rental storage companies were charging even less for same sized storage. I called the Public Storage Company and asked them if there was a way to stop the rent increase and they informed me that the request was denied because the rent increase was based on market analysis which is not true. As soon as I vacated the storage space, they placed it on the market for rent for only $207 dollars. Very unethical practices. Stay away from Public Storage. They will increase your rent soon after you rent it and they also charge admin fee on top of it. The discounts/deals they are advertising on the website is nothing more or less than a scam. I moved furniture of a 5 bedroom house from one storage to another just to find out that the one I vacated went on market the same day for $112 dollars less than what they were charging me. This is disgusting that they made me move my stuff in cold weather of Minnesota in snow. What they did is unethical business practice. They increased rent in winter on existing rentals to force people to pay more because not everyone would want to go through this hassle to move their stuff to a different storage. What a bad company. My unit was hard to find, numbers not logically placed for visibility; the unit is pretty narrow for storing a car... and not a lot of parking lot area to make a wide turn so I could enter the space head on. Was scammed out of thousands of dollars worth of Invicta watches from a storage unit auction i had picked up and drove 6 hours to get. Never thought that a manager of public storage would enter someones unit after defaut and steal the valuable contents. This happened at 6570 flying cloud drive eden prairie Minnesota location. The reason why i had purchased this unit is because i am an acquaintance of the renter and had made a previous deal to come and purchase his items prior to unit being auctioned but unfortunate he had passed away.So i have direct photos from the renter of the watches being in the boxes..which somehow all disappeared. Upon further analysis of the auction photos and the photos my helper took when the manager opened the unit are completely different. Notice the black watch box on top of the stack on right wall with the white handle is missing. Notice the flat box that was sitting in front of the watches moved aside. Notice the yellow invicta watch box in the front of unit moved. Notice the metal shelf in middle of the isle moved to the side. 3 stacks of watch cases were also removed from the unit that were in the original auction photos and not in our time stamped photos. Manager did not cut the red wire in front of me and rushed to cut it before i got out of my car. I have Iron clad proof this was broken into by staff and pillaged prior to selling the contents. I will be opening a $9000 amex disspute due to this fraud/theft and i will be posting this all over youtube....i have several friends with huge following and would love to share this information! read more

We have several units rented from public storage at the flying cloud address. The facility is kept up and very clean. We recently had some billing issues and the property manager has been extremely helpful navigating through the issues. We are very happy and will continue to rent at this location. read more

I rented a unit to fit my boat at 11:00pm Saturday night, I get to the Eden Prairie (Flying Cloud Drive) facility at 10:30am and try for 40+ minutes to try and get it into the space. There was not enough space in the lot to get the trailer straightened out to get the boat into the space. I ask if there is another space available, but there was not at this location or surrounding locations. I ask for a refund of $218.47 that I paid online, but I did not receive the full amount. I interacted with this location for less than 13 hours (8 of it sleeping) from the time of rental and due to the fact that their lot was so tight, I could not store my boat, and why they are not extending a full refund to me is perplexing. Never again will I consider looking for space at Public Storage, nor should you unless you like to give away money. read more

My lady friend passed away last November and I was forced to move her things out of her apartment into a storage locker in mid-December 2022. I picked Public Storage in Eden Prairie because it was close and they had a 10x20 climate-controlled unit available for $207 per month. The first issue was that the florescent light was flickering and almost out. I repeatedly asked Dan, the property manager, to have it replaced before I moved things in. He repeatedly promised that he would take care of it, but that never happened. Then he told me to bring a power cord and my own lighting, so I did. Last week I met a different Public Storage man in the hallway and asked about the light. He said that they had been permanently turned off all storage locker lights, and added that it was against their policy to let customers use power cords and electric lights. He told me to use a flashlight, which is ridiculous. It's April 28th 2023 today, just about 4 1/2 months since I rented the storage locker, and yesterday I received an email stating that my rent is going up 35% to $280 as of June 1st. I called and complained, but no one cared. I was told it's a month-to-month rental and that they can do anything they want to with the price. Public Storage is the worst company I have ever dealt with. In my opinion they are completely unreliable and corrupt with greed. Once the probate court allows me to clear out the locker, I will never use Public Storage again. read more

I was electronically given an access code that didn't work. There was no employee in the office to help, despite it being during posted business hours. A sign in the door said they'd be back in about 30 minutes so we left and came back at the posted time. The sign had been updated to be 40 minutes later so we missed out shot to catch the employee at the desk. No one answered multiple calls or pounding on the door. A call to general customer service got the gate open but that agent was not able/willing to give me a working code so I was potentially trapped inside the lot (need code to get out). I found the employee in the lot, raking leaves. The employee was gracious and helpful once located. But, if employees are going to be asked to do things away from the desk during normal business hours, the phones should minimally be forwarded to their cell phone so they can assist those trapped outside with a trailer full of items that need unloading or any other customer issue. This location's policies that put her in this spot are not customer-forward and wasted a ton of our time that afternoon. read more

I have had a space here a little over a year now, and the first 6 months or so, everything was great. Now they've raised my rate twice in the past few months, no notification or any communication from them at all that they were going to do so. I have my locker paid two months in advance at any given time, so theres no reason to jack my rate for non payments. I'm being charged $106/month now for a 5x15 unit, and the advertised rate on their website for the same unit is $64, but of course thats for new customers only. I guess they don't care about their existing customers. read more

Size of units are not as advertised, so comparing online prices to competitor storage facilities is meaningless. The 5 x 10 is more like 4.5 x 9. The inside unit I was assigned had a hallway so narrow and the door to unit so low I could not physically move my couch into the unit. I was switched to an outside unit for more money. This outside unit was also smaller than advertised and the entrance door was very narrow. read more
