We've been storing here for over 15 years, and the rent just kept climbing until it hit $300 a month for a 5x10 unit. On top of that, one or both of the elevators were constantly broken, making it impossible to access our unit when we needed to. But that rent kept coming out, no matter what. I would give them zero stars! I have asked to fix the door of our unit six month ago and still has not been fixed. The elevator to our unit on the second floor did not work for over a month. The only B bathroom in the building was out of service for several months. Our unit outside, when we moved in, was filthy and had oil stains. The previous tenant did not make an effort to clean it. Neither did the staff. There was a tenant who paid his rent on the last day of the grace period and the staff without warning, cut the lock of the unit and removed its contents. The tenant lost several items in the process, including a tool chest full of tools. They raise the rent every six months or less. I would never rent from them again and I recommend everyone to do the same. read more

Public Storage was recommended to me by a friend who recently moved. Finding myself in the same situation in the next month, I took her recommendation. First tip: go online and secure the price of the unit. It's typically lower than in person. Once you register (you don't pay until you check-in in person) someone will call you confirming when you'll be in to get your unit. Tip two: find your own lock that's appropriate for the unit. They'll charge you $25 for their lock (which you get to keep) but ask a friend or buy your own for cheaper. The units of course come in various shapes and sizes and they slightly try to up-sell you into a bigger unit if you bought the small one like I did, however, one simple no was all it took to stop the associate. The units are climate controlled. You need a gate code after certain hours and an access code to get into the building. Cameras everywhere so if unfortunately something happens, they'll be able to find out who did it. There was an insurance I was forced to sign up for which I'm not truly sure I needed which was for $15 a month it guaranteed me up to $5,000 of insurance. I didn't bite too hard against it because I'm keeping this unit for such a short amount of time. But maybe ask more questions than I did if you're not up for the fee. Other than that, there are no real hidden charges or fees. They go over the price of the unit going forward after all deposits and such are made. And so far so good. Now have to move it as they are ruthlessly price gouging. March 2023: This Public Storage aggressively increases my monthly rent every 6 months. My first full rent rate was $150/month (first two introductory months were $75). In January, the rate was $306.72. Now it is $386.60/month. They have also declined my request to reduce the rate. Avoid this location. Everyone I have met at this location complains about the aggressive rate increases. It is a 10x15 unit on the second floor. read more

I get here at 8:15 and there's no carts...for me no carts, no access. I have 2 units here...guess they don't need me. One of the best public storage areas in that it's very clean and organized and the manager, Jasmine, seems to really care. However, the major problem is they never have any carts available for us. They only had two for the entire facility. I always have to wait and stalk another person in order to get a cart. I have made phone calls to the district manager, Curt, and to the customer care line numerous times, and each time I come the story is the same. They don't know where their carts have gone, and they have no way to help you. read more

A number of my possessions were destroyed due to a major roof leak during a recent rainstorm. I understand this was not a unique situation for customers there. Two of those possessions are a large box spring and mattress, which I've been told I may not dispose of in the Public Storage dumpster. So, I now need to rent a truck to dispose of the possessions that were destroyed because of their leaky roofs. If you don't care much about your possessions becoming soaking wet - and I do mean saturated - and then told you need to find your own means of removal and disposal, this is the place for you! read more

I was with this place for three years. When it was time for me to leave I went to go check my things and there were bugs in my unit. I've not brought anything into or out of for over three years. I talk to the front desk girl who got a district manager. Who met me there. Who verbally told me that they would contact the bug guy have him identify the bugs to make sure they weren't bedbugs. And that we would move forward and what to do bag the items throw them out. I never heard anything I called a week later the bug guy still hadn't came. Came and left my keys with them. Finally the bug guys came nobody ever told me. No call no email. I called they say the bug guy came and sprayed and I can come get my stuff out. Well that doesn't tell me if they were bedbugs because eggs live for years. It had been a horrible week and a half of storms. So I'm trying to get everything Bagget up and bag so I can put it out on my porch. Long story short I lost everything in my unit. My personal belongings. My pictures. We're all moldy and ruined because they sat on my porch with repeated calls. With public storage never following up with me. And then if that wasn't enough to insult me. When I check out we're all good you're all good OK we're money so they gave me a credit for a month I moved out in the first week of the next month. Well these guys sent me to collections I find out weeks later. For the month that I got my stuff out the first week. So I called again several phone calls waiting for the district manager to follow up to call me nothing. No email nothing. Seven years it takes for something to come off your credit. I'm a single mom with a little boy. And these people have been ruthless and cold to me and I'm sure they sleep just fine at night. I finally got through to corporate today. And basically there's nothing they can do. It's been two months so my insurance won't cover it. Forget my belongings that I lost. They only wanted the insurance to pay for the bill. I am in tears I would never recommend this company to anybody. The way they handle their business. What is the most unprofessional and apathetic I can't even go on to say I would not just have the morality of it please don't go to this place. Skip the manager was very helpful. I rented unit for 4 years and recently located to AZ. Skip even found the time to recruit some moving help for me! Location is right across the street from an Extended Stay hotel so it was easy to fly in, check into hotel, then take care of a truck and moving my stuff out of the 10x 15 unit the next day. You get what you pay for: a secure unit, secure property, conveniently located near airport hotel and truck rental an a helpful staff. Somewhat deceptive in their practice as they infer that the Insurace they offer is mandatory or you must have homeowners Insurace that covers storage but when pressed you find out you don't have to have either. Also charge a administration fee but they cannot tell you what that admin fee covers, seems like another way to charge extra just because they can. I have been a renter at this location for 6 years and up until now have never had a serious problem with this facility. Recently I changed my payment method for autopay. When I noticed the monthly payment was not withdrawn from my account on the following month (7 days after it was due), I called and was informed the autopay feature had been turned off and therefore my payment was late and I was being charged a late fee of $45. I explained I had only changed my payment method and did not turn off autopay. I also asked why I didn't receive a notification that a payment hadn't been received - no phone call, text message or email. The woman I spoke to insisted there was nothing she could do about it and just kept repeating that I was late and would have to pay the fee. She finally gave me the name and number of the district manager. I immediately called the DM and left a voicemail. My call was not returned. I placed another call the following day and left another voicemail and still my call was not returned. I have been a good customer for 6 years. My rent is paid on time and I have never complained despite rent increases every year - I am now paying 2.5X my original rent amount. At the very least, I deserve the courtesy of a return phone call. Customer service is clearly not a priority for them, so I am taking my business elsewhere. read more

Rented a 10x30 when I lost my home and had to dump my life in a box! Skip was the manager at the time, He's thoughtful and relaxed and always looked out for me when I was kinda living out of my unit (like a closet really) The 10x30's are drive up and even though there not listed as Air Conditioned they are as there attached to other units that are. I paid 179 a month for a total of six months or so. It was the BEST price for such a huge unit. Hours are till 9pm everyday. Note that the "3 star" rating is based on an average overall of all experiences with this location. The good: location, staff most of the time, cleanliness. The killers: repeated problems with access doors either not working, left open or broken open; policy on insurance; policy on locks; PRICING increases (currently in a 10x5 unit at over $100/month. I have returned to this location after exploring both other Public Storage locations and that of competitors. Pricing was the motivator to try other competitors. Location and cleanliness have been motivators to return. Policies related to insurance and locks are "pressure" and told "mandatory" to get a sale. Not cool. Pricing increases all the time with nothing new or additional offered is ridiculous. Over the past 3 months, have had repeated problems trying to access the door closes to unit and have arrived during office closed hours that access doors either open/left open or in one case, broken (no glass broken - doors broken off track). read more

Everyone I've dealt with at this location has been very friendly and efficient, but I must say that Pearl is an example of what everyone in the customer service world should strive to be. I relocated from out of state and had rented a big unit in case my movers made it here before I found an apartment; Pearl helped me downsize units when I found a place. I can't think of a single other commercial transaction that I actually enjoyed as much as that one - I know that sounds a little weird, but I honestly left the office markedly happier than when I walked in.
