The staff at this location is fantastic. The place is always clean and bug free! I have one unit on permanent rental and have used additional units as needed for a month or two. Each time the move in/out process is great. One suggestion, you can reserve on the corporate site, but I have found working directly with the site works out much better. read more

They increase your rent payment just after a couple of months from your sign up. My unit had a 46% increase yes you read that right 46% iin less than 4 months went from $94 to $136 that is just bad business. My advice is to stay away from public storage rent from any other company! Needless to say I will be moving out and never coming back! I will also be registering complaints with the better business bureau and with the Florida state attorny generals office. This is an example of bait and switch! read more

Be careful, they will raise your rate every three months to what they will call market rate but in the same location have better pricing. They make it more cost effective to move into another unit or down the street than to stay. my bill went from 112.00 to 152.00 all I asked was that they give me the standard rate listed on the website, no discounts which was 132.00. I have a 5x10 storage unit. The rent went from $124 for the first year, to $166.00 the second year. I have just received notice that the rent is going to over $180.00. I checked and my 5x10 unit is considered small and goes for $68.00. I called Public Storage and got the run around and the man started to argue with me. His solution was to downsize to a 5x5. If I could have gotten my stuff into a 5x5 I would have rented that size at the beginning. I suggest you either pick another company or be prepared to pay a small fortune after the first year. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. Apparently they set their fees based on need. If people are moving and using public storage, the fees go up and are out of control. read more

Reason why you should not store you valuables with Public Storage. 1.) The insurance you are forced to buy will not pay you in the event your items are damaged. Had everything I owned divided between 3 units my furniture and other items received water, rat, mold, and termite damage I received nothing from the insurance after providing pictures, receipts, and the forms they requested. 2.) The office staff is rude and hard to reach. 3.) you can never find a loading cary when needed, even when you are the only one on site. 4.) Why pay for aggravation when there are better places to rent from and with a professional staff to assist you. read more

My first time there, the elevators were not operational. I made an hour drive, loaded up one of their flatbeds, wheeled it to the elevator, and followed all their instructions. The elevator door stood open, with green arrows flashing and intermittent screeching noises. Apparently, someone had held the door open too long. I called Public Storage and was informed they can not reset the elevators remotely, "but have a nice day!" The notice on the wall said the elevators would reset in 45 minutes. They did not. The next day, an employee in the office said that, like me, she has not seen this at other locations, and customers have been complaining ever since this facility opened, a month or so ago. As a matter of fact, there was another customer stuck there with me trying to get to his unit on the 2nd floor. Public Storage should remedy this situation immediately and compensate those of us who wasted gas and time to no avail. read more

I have to thank the district manager named Manny D. He put up with me so well. I lost my mother, I didn't know what I was gonna do after paying for years on her units with her and struggling in homelessness. I yelled at him and screamed and cried. My mom cared so much for these belongings. And I didn't even know that I wanted them until I had them. I was mean because I was very sad and angry at the world. He was able to work with me on making the final payments to clear the units. I just need to make a special note to a special person, because people need to know that there are good people still out there even when you're in the midst of the worst storm. Thank you to public storage, thank you to Manny and thank you to the very nice workers at both the State Road. 54 location of public storage and the location on alternate 19 in Tarpon Springs, Florida. I don't think I'll ever be able to say thank you enough. I have journals of my mom's from when she was a little girl, then I didn't even know existed. Like, I'm getting to know her all over again. There has been construction going on forever. Entrance has been moved without notice more than once. Today it is completely blocked! Manager was not at all helpful. i was warned the second time I went there today that they already called the cops on another unhappy customer. Overall a pretty nice place. Everything is like brand new and clean. Booked it all online and didn't even have to go into the office once. Great prices compared to other places. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is my Bluetooth wouldent connect in the app so I had to put in the code Everytime with the elevator. also if you stop the elevator doors twice it locks the elevator and it's just time consuming and there was a lack of moving carts one of my trips due to how busy it was. I am terribly disappointed by your office attendant. While we waited outside the empty locked office for ten minutes, there was no signage or phone number outside. We held the door for her as she carted in laundry. She didn't thank us but had a nasty attitude from the start. Perhaps it was our masks, as she was not wearing protective face gear. We had our reservation number with us. The woman refused to help us, to look up our number or name. The price was good and we needed storage fast. This woman soured our storage experience. read more

Worst storage company ever every year the rates increase and they force you to purchase more and more i got my unit 3 years ago for 80 dollars a month that same unit with no exterior access is now 130 late fees are insane and if you do pay late you have to pay your entire balance to avoid auction impossible to get a trailer in and out of noone seems to ever be around the phone or in the office and everytime i talk to customer service i get mixed answers about how the whole company works i recently moved my belongings to the same sized unit at a smaller private business for 75 dollars a month nearly half the price read more

Omg please don't rent from this location. They are absolutely horrible. I moved to florida from Colorado. I had rented a unit prior to all of my belongings arriving via atlas movers. I paid for a climate controlled unit, inside of the building. So when I got there on Saturday morning, at around 915, the fact that I couldn't find the unit, and my movers were all just standing there staring at me like it was my fault - really sucked. The employee arrived at 9:20. There were already 2 people waiting at the front door - with their own issues. This woman went inside, locked the door behind her, and proceeded to sit there on her phone, in full view of 3 customers with issues - and waited until 930 to open the door. Customer 1 had a massive issue, customer 2 stepped up, it's now 10;00, I finally just blurted out that I couldn't find my storage unit , she let me know that the unit I was assigned was outside, not climate controlled. But I would need to wait my turn, and customer 2 had a huge issue as well. My movers were seriously pissed by this time, and I didn't want to make them wait any longer - so I just took the outside unit, which is probably 150 degrees and ruining a bunch of my antiques and stuff. The employee finally came around about 2 hours later and shouted down the aisle at me, asking me if I was just going to take the unit they gave me. It was unreal. My stuff was already unloaded, the whole thing was a nightmare. Save yourself the hassle please! read more

I needed a storage unit not too far from where I live. I found this place online. The price looked great for the size I needed compared to some of the other places so I reserved the online price. About 5 minutes later, I received a phone call asking me to stop by the office to see the unit and go over some paper work at my convenience. Upon arrival, I was shown a clean unit at a great price by a very nice older gentleman. The security looked standard and sufficient. I like that insurance is standard for each unit and offered at a good price as well. I would definitely recommend! read more

I needed a very small storage space, which was the reason this facility was appealing to me. After agreeing to rent the space was told I also needed to pay $15 per month for insurance, unless my home owners insurance covered the property. They told me if I found my insurance did cover it to call by the next day and the insurance charges would be removed from my account and refunded. I called, as directed and nothing happened. Stopped in and again was told yes, it would be credited back. The third time I stopped in, was told they don't refund insurance. I pulled my things out and closed the unit. That storage space cost me an average $35 per month for a 4x4 space. read more

they kept upping my payment until i had to cancel my unit to avoid being overdrafted hundreds of dollars. when i went to move my things out of storage i had forgotten a dresser which i admit on my part was bad and i apologized for that and cane and got it after a long day of moving all my stuff out, someone had started putting their own things in my storage. when i addressed it the lady said it was my fault for leaving it open even though you have to in order to move your things out of it and started getting rude to me and saying im in charge of other people putting things in my unit. the thing they left is now broken and they told me they wouldnt find out who put it in there or inform them of it being broken. they're very rude and talk to you like you're just money to them. will not be going back ever. the place is also dirty most of the time and they refused to do payments to help me out and wanted all my money out flat. they also wouldnt let me change my own lock when i lost my key and i had to be charged for a whole new one instead of letting me use a cheap one i already had and it took them almost a month to remove the lock so i had to wait. im younger so they talked to me like i was a child who didnt know anything and could be bullied and manipulated. you're better off at one of the other storage places where they actually care about you and your stuff and not your money read more

When I first moved in was not told of all the added fees that needed to be paid upfront- lock needed to be on the unit even if there wasn't any property in it (I had a lock I was going to use once I brought my things but didn't have it with me when I stopped in to finalize everything and was never told that i needed one right then) also never told that I needed to purchase insurance at an extra cost - specifically asked when I called how much money I would need that day and ended up spending twice as much as I was told!!!!!! Also then the rate I was told would be my monthly rate- total being charged each month cause I specifically asked so I would know - ended up being $20 more than I was told when I called. Office staff was so nonchalant and didnt seem to care about customer service at all. Now I am being told I have to vacate my storage unit because they decide its a great time to do construction during a global pandemic where people have/are out of work for months - therefore causing me to spend money that I do not have due to this pandemic to rent a truck/movers to move my things, find a new place to store my things and they are not prorating my monthly payment when I'm leaving in the middle of a month.
