So I become a loyal "brand" customer...and rented at different locations in Toronto and Florida. I happened to come across 28 Estate Drive in Scarborough. I found their customer service superior! They treat this business as their baby and they do not only work there to get their pay check! They go above and beyond to help and very accomodating to fill their customers needs! I'm returning for second time this year to rent a unit from this location. Thank you to all, Yvrose, Udeni and Trevin! You got a customer for life!

TLDR; Garbage, don't get fooled by their friendly veneer, they have no interest in actual customer…read moreservice. If need more than a basic locker to access 9-5/M-F, look somewhere else. Originally picked XYZ because of their customer service, even though they were more expensive, and the staff seemed to understand after hours access was necessary for people who worked for a living, and were renovating their house so thus needed to move things in and out of the locker on a daily basis. They were fine granting it in 2 week blocks. Then something changed internally and we were forced to call the facility every day, during the day, to get access that night, even though everyone is issued a unique access code. That was annoying enough, but boy was I wrong. Today, the day I was moving a large set of furniture to the locker, the staff forgot to grant the after-hours access even though I talked to them in person! (Their system is to write it on a post-it note and do it whenever they feel like it). Of course I also only find out at 7:05PM right after the office closes and no one picks up the phone. I now have to pay an extra $200 to keep the moving truck another day and park it in a random outdoor parking lot, unsupervised. In that one failure, the storage locker has now costed us almost the cost of the locker itself. I met a couple my first day at 7:10PM who was in a similar situation where they had driven down from Barrie only to find after hours access hadn't been given to them and there was no one they could call to get access. I should have taken that as a sign and cancelled my locker right then and there. I honestly would have been fine to pay an extra $10-$20 extra for blanket after-hours access, but instead their senior leadership choose to annoy their customers for no reason.

The Better Business Bureau needs to know about this as no other storage I've used has had this sneaky fee. A fee must be communicated before purchase, not after in the fine print. In addition the manager is very rude and does not listen to customers. There is no customer service going on at all - he interrupts and talks over you when you are making a complaint. I asked a few simple questions and was talked to like an idiot (you know who i am and you know i didn't say anything to provoke you.) . Like i should have researched and knew everything before hand. Was very condescending and rude. Went to the Alden location and was treated very well. I was given all the information and shown the whole facility with a smile. they got my business right away :). We're not the company for you". For those of you still concerned about COVID safety, apparently this company is anti-mask. Immediately i reported the crime, i waited for the police for 3 hours than they called me and said let's have an officer come another day because they were busy...wtf. So i turned towards the manager for help to further investigate the surveillance and hectic i will sit and watch the videos with them. They said, "NO!" and i also knew they weren't going to do anything after i left... FML i lost over $30k worth of photography equipments and Storagemart and Police did not give a fk. I knew i wasn't getting back the items i worked 3 years to purchase. Storagemart had mandatory insurance all customers must purchase. As much as i didn't care about $1400 i was supposed to receive from insurance because it was such a small return to what i had lost, it was at least something to help me start from scratch. Eventually after talking to the insurance for few days they finally got back to me for how much i will get getting. They said, "Hey you will receive $0 because there were no forced break in or no damages." You can tell the person is used to saying that because she had no emotions and was straight blunt about it.... This was hard for me to write down and remember not just because i was robbed but the police who we should be able to depend on in this situation and the storage company who was in charge, both weren't willing to help at all or even willing to let me help them either.
