But what it is, is some down home, authentic Mexican food. Their red tomatillo salsa could use some work, but their habanero is fire! Literally. Fajitas are great, flavor profile is wonderful, saucy, not dry like SOME places. Carnitas are authentic and great flavor as well. Chili Colorado is great, could be spicier but then I'm a sucker for some spice (also this is where that red tomatillo salsa comes in). These are the only things I get at Mexican so deal with it. Their sides, beans and rice are great too. Portions are normally enough (after stuffing myself with chips and beer) for a couple of meals. Speaking of, they also have a pretty great Mexican beer selection with a laid back atmosphere. The servers are very friendly and service is fast. The fajitas shrimp taco salad was a HUGE disappointment. Actually, it was just flat out gross. First, the shrimp was NOT DEVEINED!!!! No, no, no, no, no! Nobody wants to eat THAT! Second, the fajita vegetables were an overcooked, mushy, watery, tasteless mess. Like a white flag of surrender, screaming,, " WE TAKE SIGNIFICANT SHORTCUTS!" I was on a short lunch break, so I didn't have time to send it back, and I did not specifically point out these major inadequacies due to that, but when the server walked by and asked me how it was, I responded with "ehe" in gestured that it was so-so. I guess he took that as a win, because he kept on walking. Let's just say, it's not making my list of recommendations for the summer of 2025.
