I have routinely made my purchases at this location, but after this most recent experience, I no longer feel confident continuing to do so. I am willing to travel farther if it means receiving a more respectful and welcoming level of service. This was not the first instance of inattentive customer care, and while I understand the pressures a cashier may face, the repeated lack of basic courtesy is concerning. The lady in front of me at the deli asked for the Menu Item: Atlanta United Spicy Sub. The counter staff was unaware it existed and didn't want to try. I rarely complain for someone else, but it was painful to watch the staff ignore what she wanted, then begrudgingly make it when the customer read the ingredients. read more

I'm writing this specifically about the Deli. I've been trying to eat healthier and an affordable option is a Publix sub. It's where I like to get my vegetables. I have to be honest though I have never had a good experience here. The first point is every time I come in for a Sub is the massive time commitment. It shouldn't take 20-30 minutes to get a sub. Especially if there are only 1 or 2 people in front of you in line. It's like that every single time I've come in. Zero urgency out of the staff. There are always people walking around behind the counter not doing anything. Today though I come up to the counter and hear they are out of bread. Not out of one type of bread, just completely 100% out of bread. That cannot happen when your business model is making sandwiches. It's bad enough that this happened today, but looking through the other reviews this is apparently a not rare occurrence. I don't know who is running the show over there, but they probably shouldn't be doing that job as it's clearly too much responsibility. The deli is missing out on sales when people are walking away due to either a lack of product or an inability to make sandwiches in a timely fashion. Please find some people who don't have to have the concept of a sandwich explained to them every time they log into work. read more

Went in today to use my WIC card and grab a few essential items that I needed. It's already hard enough to locate the items that are WIC approved but to have to deal with a nasty, distasteful manager was beyond me. Kim was my cashier at the register that takes 10 items or less and she was trying to be as helpful as possible. We were trying to figure out an issue with my transaction when Lindsay, I believe that's who Kim called over to assist us, and she wasn't pleasant nor helpful! To the point she upset me, a 6 month pregnant woman, to the point I walked out on the entire purchase!!!! This is my favorite Publix especially being that it's 5mins away from my home but I'll rather go to Ingles at this point. read more

The customer service and the grocery store have always been excellent. It's always well stocked. If you don't find what you're looking for they will try and check the back for you. Also if you need meats cut up they will do that and repackage. The restrooms are always clean. read more

I had an allergic reaction and my physician called in a prescription to the Publix Pharmacy. When I went to confirm that they had received the prescription, I emphasized the importance of receiving the medication immediately due to my severe symptoms. (The staff member was the same man who had filled a different prescription for me a couple of days prior. That day, I needed a steroid because my speech was impaired due to this same allergy reaction). He and I even discussed the situation. The pharmacy staffer informed me that he needed to mix the medication, but did not mention that payment was required in advance. When I returned to pick up the medication, I was told that I needed to pay before they could mix it. They never informed me, and my condition had gotten worse. Two more hours went by. Additionally, the prescription receipt did not list the medication's ingredients or name, and this information was also missing from the bottle label, where possible side effects and reactions are normally listed. I am dissatisfied with the process and will not be returning to this pharmacy. Beware. read more

Halloween was almost ruined but Publix saved the day. Some of the employees had on costumes, there were stations set up and they gave TONS of candy! Let's just say my son loved the Diansour!!! Oh yeah and the had game stations set up. Side note. I wish this Publix gave out regular balloons to kids Like the one in Cobb. read more

Most of my experience with the Publix on Hwy20 in Conyers has been. Until today. I made an Attempt Instacart order using the Instacart app. I watched as my items we shopped and put together for pickup which I scheduled for 6:00 pm. The shopping was completed around 2 pm and shortly after I was notified my order was ready for pickup. I arrived at the store and no order after about 15 minutes I called the store customer service desk. They said it would be right out. Nothing. Called again. Nothing. Clearly they had given my order to someone else. I began a chat with Instacart who was very interested but apparently could do little to get my order. They offered refund which I eventually took. But, in the meantime, I got a Publix employee on the phone who rude, abrasive and obnoxious. She tried to tell me the just got the order, it was being filled and any problems were the fault of Instacart. She yelled at me, would not let me talk to explain my position. On top of obnoxiousness she lied to me. This person should be fired. I simply left without my order but with a full refund plus an extra credit. Publix management should be aware of this terrible behavior on the part of their employee. Unfortunately, I'm aware of some of the management at this store and this will likely be ignored. #144 The answer is "Yes," I love discovering new grocery stores and ultimately writing reviews about grocery stores. Me and my friends decided to help my mommy grocery shop for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, plus she wanted to buy us food for the house so we had what we wanted--perfect hostess! She said that Publix was the place to shop so I was excited to venture into a new grocery store. We do not have a Publix in the Bay Area, and since I love new things, well... Here we go! I was first impressed by the grocery carts. They had little cars for kids to drive while you do your shopping which was nice. Anything to entertain the younger guests with us was a BIG help. Plus, the carts were nice and big, so we grabbed two of them, filled them with kiddos and began the holiday shopping. They have a nice lady cooking snack samples as you walk in and she handed us some yummies with a BIG beautiful Georgia Peach smile. I miss things like this when I am not in the south--you know, polite and friendly people ;) Anyway, we went through the deli and bakery area grabbing sandwich meats for my partner, cheeses for everyone and tons of baked goods. They had fresh hummus and other dips so I was in heaven. I was able to find about seven different gourmet cheeses for my homemade mac n cheese that everyone always wants too. The produce section was impressive. I got baby carrots and some fresh celery to make matzoh ball soup for the holiday. I also found beautiful mushrooms and fresh almonds for the beans. Plenty of wonderful olives for the Mediterranean salad. The potato selection was sublime! I chose the little red potatoes I needed for the roasted potatoes and mommy got the Yukons for her delicious mashed potatoes my son demands as well. We got so many fresh berries, star fruit, cuties and other fruits I have no idea how we will eat them all before we leave to go back home to the Bay. But we will try for sure! Publix had more ice cream than I have ever seen. If I was a small child I would have been positive the ice cream section is what heaven looked like. We bought five types (you know, for the "guests" for the holiday--lol) and tons of popsicles. I recently learned that a friend of mine loves, loves, loves sugar free popsicles. They truly had everything one could want. In the Bay Area I try to stick with Trader Joe's and Whole Foods for my main shopping, but if we had a Publix I would consider making them my home grocery--sorry TJ's and WF, but it is what it is. All in all, we had a fabulous time grocery shopping for our holiday foods and other treats--no matter how weird that sounds. The check out stand professional was absolutely polite and helpful. I was upset when we got in line and I realized we had not brought the bags with us. I told my mommy and she thought I was insane. "What are you talking about? Bags?" I guess they do not have the whole 'bring your own bag thing' here yet. I used to be a devoted shopper at Publix, I shop at the one on Milstead crossing in Conyers and the Salem road branch. The store is always bright, clean and no smell of rotted foods, the public brand also rivals any name brand. However the fruit section is a hot mess, rotting spoiled fruits, this is my 5th and last time buying fruits, the packaged watermelon, pine apples and other mixture of fruits is always rotten and smells bad upon opening. My daughter in NC also complains about this shopping at Publix. It's disgraceful for a company like Publix routinely sells rotten fruits, just a couple days ago I bought a really big avocado, placed it in the fridge and the next day cut it open, completely rotten, I keep forgetting to save my receipts and take that mess back. Instead I will just stop shopping their, it's way overpriced anyway. If they were not so busy supporting domestic terrorist to storm the capital in failed insurrection and attempted coup, they would have money to purchase fresh fruits for their supermarket #shade. read more

This is my favorite grocery store to shop at in Conyers. All of the staff is very nice and the store is clean and organized. Even when it's busy on the weekends or in the evenings, you don't have to wait long in line as all the cashiers are quick! I also like that this store is a little smaller than the other Publix in town but it still has a lot of variety. read more

I had to come back to publix after my husband stopped by last night at brought home a raw "roasted chicken that my son and daughter got into before I even got into the kitchen. We are now at the hospital with food poisoning. I asked for the manager and I'm pretty sure he was not one of the managers honestly I believe he might have been the meat department supervisor because I took a photo of the managers on the wall. I asked if I could grab one of the pies for my trouble and he said he would buy it which means he paid out of pocket in front of me which also means he did not want to get in trouble or be held accountable. This is the 4th time I've been forced to come to this public's to get dinner because Conyers is so limited. And every time I have bought something from the deli area something has been completely wrong with something. The macaroni never looks edible nor does the potatoe wedges. I've requested a better version of the food and they said they couldn't because there wasn't any made yet which is unlikely 4 times in a row. If your food is dried out and hard you should not try to sell it you should probably give it away or pay us to eat it. I don't have a problem with the store yet only with the pre made foods. My husband said there were only 2 people wearing a mask and gloves. Somebody really needs to do something about this or I'm gonna have to report it. I've been to so many publix and their food is always been amazing. I've yet to see anything in that department be a health presentable environment but because it's the closest store I kept giving it another shot. The store was very nice and clean, the customer service was awesome, most of all the associates greeted me with hello and how are you. It was just great. My spouse and I shop almost exclusively at this Publix and often order things from the Deli and Bakery. Spouse went and got 2 sub sandwiches for us today. He had the Ultimate, I had Roast Beef. Our issue was not so much with the sandwich, but with the bread. Why did you change the bread? Before, it was soft inside with a somewhat chewy, outer crust. Now, it's just a plain, white bread with no discernible crust, consistency or flavor. I also ordered my sandwich with oil and vinegar and I had to ask my spouse if they even put it on the sandwich as the vinegar flavor was super mild. We also ordered New York Potato Salad and Macaroni Salad and they were as good as they ever were. I won't be coming to Publix to get subs anymore. It was disappointing. read more

After the experience that my family and I had yesterday with the bakery manager at the Conyers store, we will no longer be ordering any of our cakes from this particular Publix. This is very upsetting for me, because when we have come in to do so in the past, it has always been for something wonderful, like a birthday, anniversary, promotion. So, over the years we've had very fond memories made there. However, because of the woman in the bakery's rude attitude, we will not be returning. I felt a little intimidated while trying to order a cake, and ended up walking away without placing an order. Now, we have no cake to celebrate my husband's graduation and will have to spend the extra time and resources going elsewhere. This has never been an issue in the past for me. Even when we've found the young black man who is always working there (sorry, not good at remembering names) VERY busy, he or any of the other staff have always been very polite and helpful to us. The woman yesterday said that the photo that I wanted put onto our cake was "too dark". Choose something else... Well, it was as dark as the others that we've had put on cakes in the past... And the cakes have always been beautiful. She also seemed to be trying to talk me OUT of placing an order instead of helping me to understand what our options were and shot down the requests that I made for our cake. Saying, 'are you sure? Are you sure? Are you sure?' several times. It was a horrible interaction. Instead of HOW may I help you, it was more like WHY should I help you? And to be completely honest, even though I really had my heart set on getting him that particular cake, I would have chosen something else if necessary. But, I refuse to spend money where I am not respected. My soft spoken daughter was so upset, she felt the need to turn around and say, "lady, you're rude" when we left. And that was through the eyes of a child. We are a humble family, hate complaining, but wrong is wrong and especially coming from a manager! I saw her face on a picture in the bakery with MANAGER under it and cringed. I couldn't leave fast enough. Managers are supposed to set the bar. I feel that when working with the public, your talent may get you in the door for your position, but it is the customer that keeps those doors open for you. read more
