Pricing at the pharmacy has gotten out of control. My prescriptions went up $89 per a 3 month supply. Plus the pharmacy tech was rude, and they used to be nice. Guess what? I just found that I can get them on Mark Cuban's Cost Plus Drugs for $381 less for the same thing. That's real money that I'd rather have in my pocket than to get gouged by Publix. I don't recommend the Publix Pharmacy and encourage you to look elsewhere. read more

Publix Super Market at the Shoppes 6-10-24 We stop at this Publix because it's convenient and quick in and out. This store is very clean and organized, and they don't move items around from week to week. Another great feature they have for handi-cap people, they will help you out to your car and even unload your groceries for you. Kudos for that. Before I talk about their groceries let me hit on a few other items they offer. Their made to order subs are some of the best and freshest you will find. The fried chicken is very good and so are the potato wedges. When they have Egg Rolls, they are also very top notch. I have had some of their cakes and pies and they are darn good and some of the best. You can order specially made cakes right at the bakery counter. So don't pass any of the above-mentioned items up. As far as fresh fish they had and good size dept. and can make some items for you right there. The deli dept is busy most of the time. They feature Boars Head lunch meats and have some Publix brand meats along with all kinds of cheeses. Don't know what you want they will give you a free sample of any lunch meat or cheese just ask. Fresh fruit and vegetables take up a quarter of the store and they have a large selection. The beef, chicken, pork meat selection is large, and their meats look good, not outdated, or brown. The pharmacy area is large and packed with all kinds of meds so if you are not feeling well, they may be able to help. The rest of the store is your normal items that are arranged orderly on all the shelves. There are self-check outs and some regular check outs so you can choose. This location is super hit and miss. For the last 3 months the sushi has been poor quality. I haven't been able to bite any of the sushi in half, it's been super stringy and often the tuna is discolored and smells odd. We use gift cards often, it's just easier for me to budget that way right now and every single time they have an issue with the gift cards...yet the Publix on Kismit and Del Prado has never had issues with the gift cards or the one on Pine Island across from Target. The employees literally look annoyed every single time I pull a gift card out and then always seem like it's their first day and just have zero idea what to do with the gift card and I end up at customer service more than half the time. Again, this doesn't happen at other locations to either this location has old equipment (computers) that can't handle gift cards or they don't train their staff that great. The sub station has also been questionable the last few times. I totally understand this isn't a glamorous job but I'm still paying for my sub, so I'd like it looks sorta edible and not just thrown on there. They always put the cheese over the tuna or over the chopped up chicken tenders and everything just slides off when you get home. I've asked them to put the cheese on the bread after the condiments first and they again, act annoyed. The pharmacy also has hit or miss employees. I've had issues before at other Publix locations where they didn't send my prescription through and they always were willing to call for me and figure it out but this location claims they aren't allowed to do that....but again, other locations do it and the doctors offices/ER always sends the script through so obviously it's not something that's illegal, otherwise I would assume the doctors offices and ER wouldn't send the script through. Around the corner from my parents so frequently stop by. Publix in general is really pricey compared to Trader Joe's or even Whole Foods. Since the shoppers here are primarily elderly, they're kind of stuck paying the high prices as most aren't going to drive into Ft.Myers for better selection/pricing. The 1 area of this store that typically does an outstanding job is the meat/cheese slicing. Eve is probably the sweetest employee ever to all the older shoppers. She's upbeat, repeats herself kindly when needed and makes the customers feel special. Know my dad really loves that she's always there smiling. I recently had Ashton and he was good as well - friendly, capable. However, need to mention that an older man near me was being helped by Guerdy and I was astonished at how rude Guerdy was to the customers. Either Guerdy doesn't like her job, doesn't like old people or was just having a really terrible day. She has an accent so people with hearing loss may need her to face them or have things repeated to understand. Her attitude was so rude when the man didn't understand- acting completely put out that she had to repeat her mumbled question. Attitude galore! Management should consider some observation and retraining to help Guerdy out. Should mention that on a previous trip we had an issue with the pharmacy filling a prescription incorrectly. They gave us a med we didn't request and the med requested wasn't filled. We weren't alerted to the change, assumed we were given what we'd ordered and by the time we realized the error it was too late to get in corrected that day- quite a mess & made for a really long night. Reminder to double check what the pharmacy provided you before leaving! On a positive, the line for customer service is typically pretty short, the check-out workers/baggers tend to be friendly and the area the store is in is safe and clean. read more

This store is always clean and the staff couldn't be more helpful. I find the meats always fresh and usually a good selection of products. There are times when the shelves are missing products but no more than any other store I've been too. Prices are average to high but the quality is high too. Every time I shop there they offer to load the Groceries for me without even asking and they won't accept a tip for doing so. There bakery has some great selections. They made a birthday for my brother and it was beautiful and delicious. Their subs are very fresh and loaded with meat. I love their rotisserie chickens and they have several flavors to choose from. I shop at several grocery store around town and this is by far our favorite. read more

I have been going to an independent pharmacy, but they are going out of business. They are transferring all their prescriptions to this Publix in North Fort Myers. I decided to have my new prescriptions filled here, hoping for the best. The tech who took care of me was quite rude. First she told me that all my prescriptions were filled by the Good RX or special discounts. That is ridiculous because I am a senior with Medicare and a supplemental policy and a drug plan which costs me an additional $100 a month. Then she told me that I had requested not to use my RX insurance. I didn't even know you could do that! The only time I would use the Good RX if a prescription wasn't covered by my insurance. I was almost ready to cry with frustration, but instead I said that this is why I go to a private pharmacy. I was there for quite a while standing uncomfortably because I had sprained my foot. There was another tech there and a pharmacist, but nobody seemed to acknowledge that I was there. She did eventually redo four scripts. She asked me if I wanted to pay a higher price for one than if I used the Good RX for it. What do you think I said!!!! I hardly give a lower rating to a neighborhood business, but I did today. Maybe it's because I have had extensive customer service training and expect to be acknowledged and treated with dignity and respect. I've used many other Publix's and if I do I'll find one that actually cares about how they treat their customers. Decided to have a sandwich for dinner. Went to the deli and was helped by a nice young lady Tara Bacon. Yes, it's her last name. She made me a wonderful Turkey "toasted" sandwich, with cranberries, and it was delicious. Despite not living in the area, I would make a return visit if Tara was working in the deli section. Ordered rolls for Easter dinner. Came to pick them up and they were no where to be found. All bakery rolls were sold out for the holiday weekend. That was my point of ordering ahead to avoid that. I've ordered home delivery food from Publix five times. Each time the fresh foods are getting progressively of less quality. I was thrilled with my first few orders! I thought that Publix was doing a great service for those who found it difficult to get around. I thought I could depend upon Publix reputation of providing top notch quality. But much to my dismay I was too embarrassed to serve a tart to company. Every strawberry slice on top was mushy. A cukecumber had a good sized soft area which had to be eliminated. I was looking forward to having food delivered which was during a hectic time for me. Prices are very high and in many cases higher than Wholefoods. It's not unusual to find items way past their expiration date, particularly dairy. If they have BOGOs check the dates as it seems to be one of the ways they get rid of old stock. The staff is usually friendly. read more

I went to my appointment for my Covid shot and three non-speaking English people who didn't have an appointment got there before me. They couldn't read English and needed it translated so they could fill out the forms. They are taking care of them and I have to wait. read more

Just left from the most racist experience I've sadly been a witness of in a long time. I was checking out, was asked if I found everything ok. I said yes and love how nice and tidy everything is compared to Wal Mart. The cashier said if she ever goes to Wal Mart, she goes north to Punta Gorda where (then whispers to me) everyone is white and they speak English. Really didn't know what to say other than this cashier can probably only speak one language and that's bigotry. Very disappointing. This is the second time I've ordered a cake from the bakery and they didn't have it. Both times it was for a large party, a cake for twenty or more. This time they had no record of my order, and I was holding the order form copy in my hand! The employee name on my order form was unfamiliar to either women who tried to help me!!! They are trying to cut corners to save money. I always shop there but recently I was disappointed. The cashier was talking about how they were told to be frugal with grocery bags to save money. It went from receiving too many bags to getting bags of poor quality stuffed full and heavy. Also, the chicken I purchased from deli was past its prime, had an odor, tasted off and was getting slimy when I opened it for lunch the same day I bought it. It appears they are keeping deli meat longer to save money, too. Will be watching things closely and avoiding deli for awhile. read more

Sounds silly, but I always leave this grocery store with a smile. Every single associate is beyond kind and helpful. Whenever I get rung out, I am always politely asked how I am doing, and then we proceed to have a nice conversation. Very pleased with every single staff member I have came in contact with.
