Publix is the spot for Subs in North Port. Freshly made with hand cut deli meats cheeses and vegetables , lots of menu choices including close by grabs for chips soup or salads. Often overlooked it stands out at beyond other sub shops. read more

Cocoplum Publix in North Port has the absolute worst deli. I would often order ahead so my deli items would be ready at the front of the store when I go shopping. They are never ready in a timely manner, and more times than not, the order is incorrect. Today I ordered subs, and after work, my husband went to pick them up. He ended up waiting 25 minutes beyond the pick up time before our sandwiches were ready. What's more...he had to wait behind a line of customers at the deli to find out where our order was. Why bother offering a timed pick up if you can't live up to it?? I had stopped ordering from them a year or more ago bc it became so frustrating. Today I decided to try again, and realized that they are very consistent in being inconsistent! Once we went to unwrap the subs, I saw there were jalapeños on mine (not ordered), none of the spices I requested, and did not receive oil and vinegar packets that were requested. Monday. Late morning (May 9). We were interested in buying a rotisserie chicken. There were only a couple out and they were cold - good breeding ground for salmonella. We stood in line - patiently - while the young female clerk took care of other customers. It was finally our turn, but a man walked up and butted in front of us. She knew we had been waiting, but not a peep. After she waited on him, she walked away as if she didn't see us. I flagged her down and got attitude. I asked politely if there were any other chickens about to be ready - that the ones on the floor were cold. She felt the chickens and said in a b****y tone, "Those are NOT cold. They're not." In other words, "If you don't like it, tough." She walked away, leaving us standing there. She was rude - obviously hates older people. I worked in retail. I would have been fired on the spot for talking to someone with such an obvious lack of respect. I was furious. Look Publix, you're not inexpensive. I don't need some B****** attitude when I'm here to spend money at your store. It took me a really long time to get on Yelp because that's how upset I was at being treated rudely. You have very few lanes open and like everyone else, you want people to check out their own groceries. I've just about had it with you store. If I want rudeness and lack of service, I can go to Walmart. What a crock. read more

We were first exposed to Publix when it moved into Fort Mill, SC several years ago. They had a butcher counter where you could have meat cut, along with great sales on steaks, etc. Since we have moved to Florida a year ago we've seen prices at Publix do nothing but increase, while we hear on the news that grocery store prices are decreasing on many items - NOT PUBLIX. Every week the prices seem to climb. They've eliminated their fresh butcher counter, along with many cashiers and the "service" they are supposedly known for. Perhaps much of this is because they seem to have a monopoly in SW Florida, which I don't quite understand with so many other grocery store chains out there. Publix needs some serious competition - like a Stop & Shop that has many of the same items and concepts, as opposed to Walmart or Aldi. read more

There fountain drinks come out already watered down. I never put ice in my drinks for this reason. I got a coke from the fountain drink section by the deli 2 minutes ago and it's watered down? They need to pay attention to their machines because I don't have enough time in my day to bother going back in complaining, waiting for them to fix it, and somehow eat in time for my lunch break. I see all these commercials when supposed customers have such a pleasurable experience shopping at Publix. I can't say I have ever had the same experience at any location I've been to. The only reason this location gets a three star is because of the pharmacy and the sushi department. The pharmacist there went beyond to help me a year ago and was super nice. And the gentleman who makes the sushi is always attentive and helpful. Otherwise the employees are slower than normal, but maybe because I am use to the northern paced life. I've never had anyone ever ask me as I walking around if I needed any help finding anything or even just say hello to me. #MyPublixStory is real and unpaid versions of a real experience. read more

The deli lady making my sub took forever and walked away while a line of people were there and said "I'll finish it in a few minutes" it was an older lady with pink glasses. And was complaining and judging what we wanted on our subs. read more

Had to go in quickly... Saw soup for sale by the deli... Only a small amount left and only large containers... Took it to front it was 8.50$... Tearra at cash register yelled at us it was sold by the container... I informed her there was no more soup or small containers... She interrupted me and said: "Yea, yea, yea, whatever..." and put her hand up...Finally she yelled: "How about I just charge you for a small and be done with it?" and then she slammed a few items on the belt as we checked out... Worst attitude Ive ever seen for a Publix employee...Sad... read more

I did my Thanksgiving grocery shopping at Publix this year on the day before the holiday--as usual, I must confess. Based on past experiences at other grocery stories, I glued on a smile and armed myself with all the patience I could muster. Turns out I didn't need either. The shelves were fully stocked, and stayed that way courtesy of a friendly army of Publix employees. One employee, Lori, actually noticed a couple bags of snacks in my cart and politely pointed out that they were BOGO but I had the wrong size. Then she offered to get me the right ones! This floored me. I have never had anything like that happen before. After a quick, easy, and delightful shopping experience I went to check-out and found that all cashier stations were open--no wait at all. Best of all, I get to save my patience and my fake smile for another day! read more

Publix employees give great service. We absolutely love the Boars Head Roast beef sub sandwich. The wraps are awesome. The deli section offers a incredible amount of variety. The store itself is fine other than having convenience store prices. But the pharmacy is a joke. The manager, Brandon, is rude, self centered, and has no concern for customers. Everything takes a minimum of three days, including an automatic refill of something as common as blood pressure meds or antibiotics. It's always the same story, "we had to order it". I learned that their little pharmacy corner of the store is the extent of their stock, no stock in the back of the store. That's pathetic. Today I went in to exchange a defective nebulizer, and was told that one of the two staff pharmacists would have to do that, and neither of them would be in for two days. Apparently the pharmacist on duty was not a regular staff member. Again, pathetic. read more

I have been in Florida for 30 years discovering Publix is one of the best things I ever did. They are clean & bright stores. Friendly people. LOVE their hoagies & chicken. So So glad you don't have to have a membership to shop here for discounts. One reviewer complained that they hired elderly people to work there. This store has got some of the slowest people on the planet. There are many Old farts taking jobs away from teens. the checker was about 90 and the bag boy was in his eighties. I had to laugh when he asked if I needed help out. I'm in my 40s. Don't shop here the people are so slow, you'd be better off going across the street to Walmart. read more

Our Family loves shopping at this particular publix. The staff are friendly, courteous, THE store is clean, and prices are fair. We particularly enjoy fresh produce and THE bakery. Disappointed. Large container of mixed grapes buy one get one. The only problem is there is only one. Asked the gentleman working in produce at 4:25 p.m. this afternoon about getting another container. "No, that's the last one I have." And, he walked his cart of empty boxes to the behind closed doors. Not the Publix response I am accustomed to. read more
