This has to be my least favorite Publix of all Publix stores that exist! I understand that it's been here a long time, but it's sub-par compared to every other location. It's small, dimly lit, and makes me feel like I am in a Winn Dixie. Busy inside, busy parking lot, and just overall this grocery store is too small to service this area. At many Publix you will have high school kids as cashiers and baggers, but here it seems to be mostly grouchy middle-aged women. I guess I would be grouchy too being here all day! read more

I love this Publix. I frequent here weekly and am always greeted with smiles and good customer service. The aisle signs make it easy to find food items and non-perishables and you can always ask and employee if you can't find something. It is always clean and organized! One of the best things about this place is the older gentleman in the seafood department. Sometimes you'll hear him marketing items over the loudspeaker. He's always willing to give [great] recommendations and he is SO very pleasant. I forgot his name but I promise if you meet him, you'll know exactly who I'm talking about. I love Publix because of their variety, cleanliness, friendliness, and of course the famous Pub sub! This location is the closest to my house so I go here often. Employees are almost always really friendly and helpful. My biggest issues here is the Deli. They're frequently out of items like potato wedges, potato balls, and regular Macaroni and cheese. It might be supply issues, I'm not sure. It also takes a long time to get Deli meat or cheese here. I worked in a Deli for almost a decade so I know it can be hard work, but they're really slow. Also, I have found many times that the thickness of the sample of meat is ot what they give me. I know cutting meat thin takes longer, but that's how I like it and it really upsets me to get home and go to usemy meat and find that it's thick enough to roll. If I want fresh meat, again the freshest of the big grocery stores. This location is always clean and the staff is super friendly. This Publix is clean, always well stocked and the staff is super friendly. I had to leave a review because Jeff, in the seafood department was amazing with my 7 year old daughter today! He spoke in the "Goofy" from Disney clubhouse voice and put on an entire performance. My daughter felt so special and he made the shopping trip much more enjoyable after she met someone she could relate too. I was so grateful he took the time to entertain her and make her smile. He even let her "catch the dinner" for the night which was shrimp. Thank you Jeff for your kindness, we need more people that enjoy their job and go out of their way to make everyone feel special. This is the Publix closest to my house, so it is the one I frequent the most. Selection is decent, but not quite as good as the Publix at Montgomery/434. The customer service is excellent! I just wish patrons would either allow the staff to walk them out to take their cart - or would walk it to the corral themselves. Abandoned parking lot buggies is such a bad yet frequent habit of my neighbors. Luckily, there is plenty of parking, including remote parking to dodge the carts. The only thing bringing this down from a 5 star Publix is the traffic on this corner. It is almost impossible to turn left out of any of the exits after work or on the weekends. So busy!! read more

Oh man! We love this publix! Grew up with Publix but whoever made our Philly cheese subs on 7/7/22 around 8pm needs some serious training! It was basically raw roast beef with SLICES of cheese on top and all the usual condiments on a Philly, thrown on top raw.... I appreciate them replacing them but why even let someone not trained to make them? Drove all the way home... then all the way back ugh. Ruined our night! read more

I still have not heard back from Publix regarding my last delivery order. I was charged $14.98 for a pound of hamburger and we also requested that the shoppers pay more attention to freshness of produce as my bag of oranges were all dried out. This is not just a bad store like some post about here , store size average if you compare it to the one in Longwood or Lake Mary it seems tiny. Staff is friendly and helpful and they are going thru remodel so they are getting new cases for some of there departments, over all the store is nice and will look even better after the remodeled. I've been shopping at the Rock Springs location for over 14 years. I use to love their subs but not so much anymore. They literally always make you wait forever..even with online ordering and it is as if when you ask for onions they literally cut an entire onion and put it on my sub. As I'm standing in line still waiting for my online order that was due 15 minutes ago, I ask what the status is. They state they haven't even pulled my ticket. This is about the 6th that they haven't pulled my ticket. Several times I've come on my 30 minute lunch break after placing an online order and they say "we haven't pulled your ticket". I usually go months before ordering again hoping they will get it together.. but NOPE! And what is more disturbing is that I spoke to a manager and his answer was "we're short staffed and have new managers " smh read more

A Publix is a Publix is a Publix.... just smaller in this case, though certainly adequate. In its central location, this store stays busy. Avoid it like the plague on a Sunday afternoon!!! *ALL* the Apopka shoppers are there... Wow!!! Early Sun morning = perfect. A few things of note in this store: the cashiers are often chatty with their baggers. Those that are young (high schoolers, which may or may not be my own students) and the young adults (college kids) border on unprofessional from time to time. I recently called to complain before my key was in the ignition. Irritating. The other issue I have with this store is the pharmacy. It definitely does not win ANY stars in my world. Often grouchy pharm tech staff, pharmacists who usually don't come out to help/answer questions, or even say, "We'll be with you shortly." And automatically changing my prescriptions to 30 days without any conversation cost me lots of $$$ recently. I would rather have to remember to use my online delivery service than deal with this store's pharmacy staff. Oh, one more note that may or may not be useful: the city of Apopka is 'dry' on Sundays - no alcohol can be sold. Thank the mayor who's been in office (apparently) since the turn of the century (the 20th century!). So, if you're planning a get-together or just want a nice bottle of wine with your Sunday dinner, plan ahead, because you won't be purchasing on Sunday. Inconvenient. Outdated?? Perhaps I was spoiled by our uber-professional and amazingly courteous Publix staff in downtown Orlando (5 stars for the Paramount Building Publix!!!!!!!!), but I'm making the best of it. Groceries. I'm about over this Publix. I think it would be better if it weren't the only grocery store serving this area of North Apopka. Now with Albertson's gone this store is so crowded and simply not big enough. The parking lot has a awful design of one way leading no where lanes. There are only two ways to exit to Rock Springs and one leads you way around the McDonalds and the other is jammed with people trying to turn south. Once you manage to get inside be prepared for a log jam of carts. I really have to give myself a patience pep talk before entering. Because of its smaller size it just doesn't have some of the items larger stores carry. They did open a liquor store but its a few doors down. Staff is generally friendly in that well-trained Publix way. I've been coming here for years so feel like I know some of the long term staff. I have had issue with some items not being stocked and have addressed it with management. However, management made no changes. For instance, in their bulk area they sell bulgar. Who uses bulgar? Do you even know what bulgar is? Ok, somebody must use it but I suggested they should carry bulk steel cut oats instead. I think most people know what oatmeal is. Anyway, if Publix would carry this it would save me a trip to Sustain. Unfortunately the bulgar is still there and the oats are not. Other items they used to carry they no longer do (Krispy Kreme donuts, Light Vanilla Soymilk, etc.) because I was told they do not have the space. No kidding! They need to expand this store (and modify the parking lot, please!) or build another store to relieve the traffic here. It's just not fun to shop here anymore. Oh, and they have become much stricter with their coupon policies. Since they are pricier than other grocers (albeit their BOGO deals are still good) I may start shopping around. read more

To those to have yet to try a Publix "Pub Sub", this is your clue to go and buy one. Although this may not be the best Publix to do so at. The store itself was relatively slow, the problem is that applied to the deli workers. When I arrived in line I was 2nd to go, a second worker called me over very quickly which was nice. I had a rather simple order, one 6in and one foot long sub. The server was a very sweet older lady, but very slow. I wanted to step back there and help her because as she was making my sandwiches the line grew exponentially, but this made her go even slower. I guess she was hoping the other worker would take over the line if she went slow. I give this two stars because of the speed, and there was an argument between two workers. A worker in the deli section was trying to pull another from the kitchen section as they were busy as well. When the kitchen worker tried to explain this the deli just got louder. This is the worst grocery store and chain ever !! Publix groceries are in the news regularly for having recalls on their food that they package. For example the latest one is their ground meat having E. coli in it!!! I've personally purchased two items that were types of fruit that they pack and they tasted like they had soap in them. I have a small, TRAINED, service dog and a gentleman (could think of a better term for this individual but let's stay focused) HARASSED me asking why I had a service dog and for what and he can ask me whatever he wants, etc! This Publix is like most so you know what to expect. The store is clean and the carts are well maintained. The staff is polite and there are usually enough registers open. They carry a wider variety of items than other grocery stores in the area. The produce section of this particular store doesn't have the same level of quality I usually see from Publix though. I get most of my groceries here, but I often get produce elsewhere. read more

It's a Publix, so you know what you are going to get. A clean store, with awesome BOGO deals, and friendly staff. This store is not exception. A recent remodel here has improved the store as well, since it has been around for about 20 years now. They also opened up a liquor store in the vacant Blockbuster that was a few doors down. Every time we come in, they offer our young son a balloon, which is a great touch that really helps differentiate Publix from other grocery stores. My only regret here, is that we moved just a little bit farther away from it than we were before, and another "inferior" grocery store is just so darn convenient for us due to location. Publix has always been my favorite grocery store. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because this location is pretty small. The employees are always very helpful- sometimes the young high schoolers that are bagging/cashiering can be a little annoying- they will talk about a party they are going to later or a hot date (I think they think its ok because I am fairly young myself), but like I said- they are in high school. Worst Publix ever! You can tell the customers and employees are not happy. It is way, way too busy! Oh and those $7 organic apples you just paid for, they'll be bruised by the time you get home because the bagger is too busy chatting with the cashier to handle those apples with care. Getting in and out of the parking lot is like a scene from Death Race 2000. If you have a ton of groceries and you suggest to the bagger to maybe grab an empty cart so he can start loading, get ready for a look like you just cut off his right arm. This by far is the worst Publix!! I travel out of my way to avoid it like the plague. Some of my neighbors have told be the same thing! They are always under staffed up front, more times then not I bag my own groceries. I saw a manager eating in the produce department! Employees are not friendly in general. Managers are the worst and they always seem to be out of stuff, like they can not keep things stocked. I absolutely love this publix. Yes, it can be a bit over crowded at times, but that's not their fault. I personally saw this publix built about 20 years ago.. And things were not as big as they are today. Being "dry" (no alcohol) on Sundays is an Apopka thing.. Not this publix's fault.. The staff here is amazing.. I go once a week and they remember my name.. My sons name.. And even what I had gotten the week before. The older lady in the bakery has ordered every single one of my sons birthday cakes.. Their always so polite and friendly here. I prefer this store 20x more than the Win Dixie down the street. Love this publix! read more

This is the worse store ever. I returned a box of crackers that were outdated. I was told that I was lying that their store did not sell outdated products. I was told that I did not buy them there. She told me several times that I was lying. I was made to feel like I was a common thief. As I was leaving she was telling a manager about me. She did all of this in front of other people. I would hate to see how you get treated if you have to return a large ticket item. My crackers were a little over a dollar. I guess their saying "Where shopping is a pleasure" does not apply to this store. Needless to say I will not be shopping here anymore. I might as well have been at Walmart. read more
