It's small, dimly lit, and makes me feel like I am in a Winn Dixie. Busy inside, busy parking lot, and just overall this grocery store is too small to service this area. At many Publix you will have high school kids as cashiers and baggers, but here it seems to be mostly grouchy middle-aged women. I guess I would be grouchy too being here all day!

One of the best things about this place is the older gentleman in the seafood department. Sometimes you'll hear him marketing items over the loudspeaker. He's always willing to give [great] recommendations and he is SO very pleasant. I forgot his name but I promise if you meet him, you'll know exactly who I'm talking about. People like this make you feel appreciated and valued as a customer. Give that man a raise for going the extra mile everytime!

We went on a Sunday and the parking lot was packed so we had to circle to find a spot. Luckily, there seem to always be people coming AND going so it only took a few minutes. Freshfields Farm is split up into 3 distinct areas - the fresh meat store, the fresh produce store, and the ice cream (and hot dog) window. We decided to head to the meat entrance first. The area is not that big but it is just lots of selections of fresh meat, cheese and butter. The meats seemed to be pretty good prices, slightly below Publix where I normally shop. There was ground beef, turkey, steak, chicken and seafood. Plus some huge cuts of meat like picanha and ribs. If you are going to have a BBQ, this is the place to go. Also, workers were constantly bringing out new packages and some people were waiting for them. I picked up 2 pounds of ground beef and some boneless, skinless chicken breasts. The cashiers were nice and super quick. Then we headed outside and then next door to the produce section. Basically the same as the meat department but filled with produce. There were bins of fresh strawberries when we walked in as well as avocados, a whole section of bananas and plantains, rainbow carrots, and even full cacao pods! I'm guessing they just showcase fresh seasonal produce so for example, while there were fresh plums, I didn't see navel oranges. There was also a fridge case full of squeezed juices and lemonades. And a big section of various types of mushrooms. I got a package of sliced cantaloupe and a big pack of 30 eggs. We checked out the ice cream window, which looked super yummy but because we hadn't eaten lunch yet, we decided we'll come back another time to try it.

I even decided to pick up some peanut butter while I was there. The store was very clean and well organized, which made shopping comfortable and enjoyable. I shop at other grocery stores too, but this place is definitely becoming one of my favorites. You can also bring your own reusable bags, which is a nice bonus. The parking lot can be a little difficult on weekends, but overall I highly recommend this place!

My biggest tip is to get there before 11 a.m.--the parking lot fills up fast and can get a little chaotic later in the day. The store is consistently well stocked with everything on my shopping list, including all of my Trader Joe's favorites, and I rarely have to deal with empty shelves. The crew members are always friendly, helpful, and keep things running smoothly. Even when the store is busy, the checkout process is quick and seamless thanks to how efficiently they move the lines. If you're shopping at this location, an early morning visit is definitely the way to go.

Sure, I love walking around and purchasing maybe $40 worth of snacks and produce, but the problem becomes that I can't buy toilet paper, dish soap, or other common goods there really. Also, of course there is the parking problem. This location is honestly better than others, but there is still nowhere near enough parking to meet the daily demand. I will say that now, especially the men working the meat counter. They either ignore you, glare, or tell you to go get what you need from the pre-packaged area instead. We stopped getting meat there a while ago because the meat is either expired or rancid. We ended up throwing away a Thanksgiving turkey and several packages of hamburger, steak, etc. We still liked the produce, baked goods, and some of the cooked items. We haven't been in a while because we've found other stores that we liked better. We went a few days ago and was absolutely blown away by the new prices. They have skyrocketed. I've never seen a store jack up the prices this high before. Some of the prices are double to triple what they were a year ago. Could not justify the price, knowing that I could literally drive two minutes down the road and get everything for a lot less.
