Last Friday, February 7, 2025, I went shopping at Publix on Lady's Island. Not only do the they have enormous variety. They have awesome sales. I am not here to talk about that, good it may be. I am here to talk about Diamond of the sandwich making section of the deli. Diamond is extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and a fantastic sandwich maker. She should get a raise. After a complete disaster ordering a cake from the Walmart on Lady's Island that was not made nor did anyone bother to let us know....this Publix bakery saved the day. Thank you and NEVER again will our family order a cake from Walmart.....we will be ordering from Publix. read more

Love Publix - just wish these stores would actually walk you out to your car. I'm a Lakeland, FL girl so my expectations are OG Publix - never asked - they just walked you out and helped you. Ok, so we came here because we were in town for our son's USMC boot camp graduation. If you haven't noticed by my past few reviews, I'm a super proud mama. Anyway, I had to search out Devil Dogs since, well you know...Marines. My marine was lucky I bought a few boxes. These little cakes are great. We also ordered sandwiches to go. My daughter couldn't wait to get the chicken tender sandwich. It was pretty good, but she was falling over herself about it. Nice, clean store with a great selection, good fair prices and nice employees. read more

Biggest miss Take I made at Public's this AM was go in there with my service dog. I placed him in a cart seat, you know where folks put their children and they put their butt on the seat. Well big mistake at Public's. As soon as I walked in I heard some cashier tell the other cashier she was talking to say something about me having a dog. I didn't think much of it as I shopped there many times with support dog. Well, I proceeded to the bakery at which time I was approached by a gentlemen who obviously worked there. He told me I could have a dog in the cart because of sanitation purposes. I advised him the dog was where folks put their kids butt, figuring they sanitize the cart each day like most supermarkets. Regardless, I held the dog in my arms and continued shopping. I walked by two more employees standing in an isle BSing and and placed the dog back in the seat looking to grab and item, and the lady who was BSing, and you can never find one of the unhappy employees to help you, and she right away told me you can't have a dog in the cart, I told her I knew, I was told that, and she could call the police on me if need be because I wasn't going to listen to the gotcha crap, I mean I got it. You not service dog friendly! I then removed my dog from the cart and proceeded to the meat section. Well Karen, the employee must of ran and got the same guy that originally busted me. They both walked by me at the meat counter not saying anything. Well...screw Public's supermarket. I was told by my son in law the people there were unfriendly, and he shops at Krogers....well that's where I'm going now. People are more helpful and not acting like police. It was very uncomfortable there....bet they were following me on camera etc....wht a bunch of crap...stick it public's.you have to carry your service dog....what baloney. God Bless read more

This is for the PHARMACY ONLY!!! Lady's Island pharmacy's manager, John, was so abrubtly rude to me today. I had walked there for exercise to pick up a prescription. I had an old driver's license for id purposes, but apparently it has to be one that isn't expired; and, don't try to use a photo from your phone of any others. I was merely asking if I could do the latter, and he replied from afar (not at the register with me), loud enough for others to see/hear---NO! no, no, no! I was completely abashed by this. WOW! NOT a fan. I'm also looking to review/report his NON-customer friendly attitude! read more

Deli counter is a total disaster. Service is poor. Deli clerks ignore customers. Wait times better than 10-15 minutes. Shop elsewhere.

Visiting this Publix gave me joy, as they still sell my favorite dessert that my Publix stop selling!! So I was skipping around the store cheesing! Purchased a few non food items and lunch from the deli. Once I was driving away I was so disappointed in the food. The cod and log fries were not fresh and were tasteless. I felt some type of way as I've never had a bad experience at any Publix deli I've visited before. Bad day for them, maybe but Publix and bad days just doesnt sound right in the same sentence. I dont frequent this Publix often but would give them another chance. Would just make sure I taste my food before leaving. 2 stars for the deli 5 stars for the bakery!! 3 overall. read more

The Publix in "Lady's Islands is one of the best in customer service, staff is friendly and helpful. The Bakery is one of the best I have had a cookie cake for a Oyster Roost in our neighborhood, small red velvet cake for my man for valentines and a small buttercream for one of my best friends husband birthday this weekend. The one star is for the deli/prepared food section. Not once in the five years that I have been shopping at this store have I had a pleasant experience in this department. Today was the last straw. I preordered a fruit and dessert tray and as always was instructed to go to the deli for pick up. There was no shortage of staff behind the counter but not one acknowledged my presence and I was first in line. They were so engrossed in conversation that they never heard me say "excuse me." I finally gave up and walked to the bakery for assistance. At least the staff here are usually more attentive and customer oriented. A woman immediately noticed me and came to my rescue finding both platters with grace and speed. I wish I found out her name. For a big store, it's surprising that all their in house prepared foods like chicken salad, coleslaw, potato salad are prepackaged. I needed some coleslaw and noticed only a large container was available. I knew if I purchased it, most would go to waste. If I was at another store, I would have graciously requested if they could locate a small serving size, but there was ABSOLUTELY no way I was going to be ignored and frustrated again trying to ask for assistance. With deli meat and cheese prices through the roof, you would think the store would ensure that this department is on top of the game. It's not. If you are an introvert, unmotivated, slow, easily distracted, and don't care a lick about customer service.....apply to the Publix deli. I'm sure you will get the job. read more

My husband has a fondness for Publix grocery stores based on his good experiences with one many years ago when he was living in Coral Gables, Florida. This one however was not quite up to par with his fond memories but was still reasonably good as chain supermarkets go. It seems that this may be the best supermarket in this town and it is clean, nicely stocked and spacious. It certainly is a busy place. However, having gotten used to always having a Whole Foods at my beck and call, this is a bit of a disappointment in it's ordinariness. And just for the record, the nearest Whole Foods is in Charleston, over an hour plus away. :-( No grass-fed meats here for me although I didn't talk to anyone at the meat counter so in all fairness I do not know if those products can be ordered. I did not see any. No real specialty items nor a wide enough range of organic produce. I was disappointed in the deli counter. We planned on an al fresco picnic one day and ordered a couple of what we thought were top of the line cold cuts. When we got the packages from the deli clerk, we only later saw on the label that the meats had additives listed which were not advertised at point of purchase as the meats were being sliced or at any point. So for example, the roasted turkey breast had tapioca starch in it and the ham had something else in it that I can't recall now. I would never have purchased these items had I known. Why are these things not mentioned somewhere prior to having the deli person slicing the meat and packaging it up for you? Ugh! The staff here was friendly at all points we encountered them throughout the store. The parking lot was a bit tight and tricky to navigate but we liked that lots of trees were left standing as the amount of shade provided is impressive. That shade makes getting into your car on a hot South Carolina day a bit easier. This place does the trick for a lot of basic stuff but it would be tough for me to rely on this store for most of the kinds of foods I buy regularly. Whole Foods...come to Beaufort! The main reason I come by here is on special occasions when I just have to order a "Chocolate Ganache Cake" from the bakery. Sooo good! The subs at the deli are very tasty, and priced well. Also the chicken the deli serves is juicy and delicious. The employees are nice and selection is very good. It can get busy in here, so try and avoid coming around lunch time or after work. That's when it seems to get worse. read more

While this place has a wide selection of everything, their customer service and basic courtesy is absolutely zero. Most of the people that work the cash registers are retirees that have moved South, and they don't have that warm and welcoming Southern Charm that South Carolina is known for. On this day of our Lord May 2, 2019, I went into Publix to buy a few items, and greeted the female cashier to which I was completely ignored. Upon giving my reciept, she offered no "thank you", "have a nice day", or anything else for that matter. A quick class on basic courtesy should be in order. read more

This is a solid store in terms of availability of items and overall cleanliness. I'm giving it a five star review in spite of two significant downsides. First the deli area is always a mess. Long lines and lack of good management. Second there is one cashier that's simply maddening. He thinks he is being humorous but just frustrates check out with a barrage of nonsensical mutterings. But there are a ton of terrific employees here otherwise so give it a try. read more

This Publix is ALWAYS packed, and for good reason. First of all, it's the only decent grocery store in the area. Thank you, THANK YOU, Publix, for opening about 10 years ago so we no longer have to go to the Food Lion to stock up prior to hitting the beach. Even the dingiest of Publixes is better than a Food Lion, trust me. While it's not the biggest store I've ever been in, they do seem to have pretty much everything you'd need. A decent sized produce department, a solid deli for those super tasty Publix subs, and a beer selection that always serves my time at the beach well. The parking lot can be total madness with the crazy suburban soccer moms wheeling their Suburbans around (sorry, that was probably my mom), but once inside the cashiers are typical small-town southern friendly and you manage to slink a little bit further in to "island time." Plus, they've got live oaks with spanish moss in the parking lot, and it's just about the prettiest grocery store I've ever seen. read more

Their bakery and fried chicken taste x10 better than the food lion next door. Granted it is food lion.... The selection is on point and you can find a lot of good ingredients like mascarpone cream or risotto rice, however shopping here is kind of pricy for the area. Last time I checked Beaufort, SC was kind of a poor area but the stores around it are priced as if everyone was middle to upper class. So I assume everyone is selling drugs to each other to make it or there are a bunch of young and dumb sailors with bookoo money and no taste/brains. The grocery store is one of the cleaner ones around the area and some of the cashiers are solid 7-8's which is always a plus in my book. Just hope their not jail bait -_- read more

It's crazy busy here. I usually prefer Publix Supermarkets over other chains, however this location has a hectic feel. Maybe it's because they seem to not be equipped to support the large crowds of people that shop here. At least that's the impression I get. The customer service is pretty good; no complaints there. Stop in if you can handle the mob. read more

Sorry I am tired of the Publix. I just came back from Charlotte and they had a Fresh Market...wow...what a difference from Publix where the employees act like they are doing you a big favor to even answer a question. I went to the deli area and asked for two chicken breasts..the woman looked at me, shook her head a bit and then turned around and went in the back. I thought,,,well, maybe she is going to get me chicken breasts fresh out of the fryer...no. This is random for a grocery store, but I would imagine this parking lot is worth its weight in gold in the hot months of summer. There is a ton of shade here, and lots of foliage to save you from cooking yourself to medium rare on your leather seats. Service was great, I forgot to grab a bag of ice, and when a lovely young lady saw I was going to have to wait another 10 minutes in line for one item, she came and got me, opened a register for me, and checked me out. That was so outside the norm of how businesses are ran today, and I was really impressed. read more

Rude rude rude! We ordered a deli sandwich and paid online. When we went to pick up, the managers (2 of them) at the service desk started screaming at my husband that he didn't pay. When he said we did pay online, they tried to argue with him, even though the receipt clearly said PAID ONLINE! He was so embarrassed, they were screaming at him in front of other shoppers, who obviously thought he was a shop lifter. Add to that scenario that one of the screaming managers had her mask down off her face, I guess so she could scream even louder and spray her germs all over everyone. I hope Publix gets a good competitor soon in the property across the street. We used to enjoy this store, but today completely ended our relationship with this company. read more

This store itself is just ok. The customer service, especially those females that work as front area management and supervisors are completely unprofessional and not at all up to Publix standards. This store does not have an organic section and has a limited supply of organics mixed in with the rest of the food. The parking is horrendous. The parking lanes are tight and limited. This store will be moving across the street into a larger building, I'm hoping to see big changes. read more

I love Publix. It is the closest thing I can get to a good grocery store since leaving San Antonio. The deli is good, my husband loves their tea, and I love their pimento cheese! The produce is always fresh. The cashiers are really nice. It is a little higher priced than Food Lion but they have a nice clean store and it is worth the little extra for sure. I work late and just wish they stayed open a little later but then again everything around here seems to shut down by 10! They get 4 stars bc the parking is HORRIBLE. If you drive anything bigger than a mid size car there isn't really room for parking. The parking lot is very pretty though. lol read more

I love Publix this was my first trip to the publics on Ladys Island and I had read the reviews and was a little bit concerned but I'm glad I didn't pay any attention to the reviews. The lady in the deli was absolutely marvelous, her name was Barbara and she took her time. I have the most perfect order and I'm certainly glad that I went to Publix! I'm getting ready for my grandson's picnic tomorrowI at Parris island and I know I can count on the quality and the service of the food and the products that I got there. Sure the deli was busy, they were lined up but we took a number and we moved right on. I could tell the other people in the deli were taking time to make sure the customers were treated right and got a quality product! Thanks Publix! read more

customer service is non existent in THIS Publix. in fact the folks at the "customer service" desk would serve this store better if they worked the loading docks. I am going to go out on a limb and say that perhaps if they had a decent customer service manager, the staff may then follow her lead, but since they have a clown as a leader, what can we expect from the rest of the circus? It's amazing how different the Florida Publix' are from the ones in Beaufort and Bluffton, it's as if they don't receive the same training and aren't held to the same standards. they've moved into a larger building across the street, but a nicer, larger building does not make up for the lack of even a small amount of professionalism. and actually, the ARC employees at this Publix are more customer service oriented than the so called 'normal' employees. it's pretty sad. read more

We travel a lot and haven't been to a Publix in along time. I remember now why we stopped going to them. Their prices are ridicules. And no I hate Wal Mart. The store is not the cleanest, the isles are very narrow. The bag of potatoes chips were marked, on the bag from the factory, $4.29. They charged, yep! You guessed it. $4.29. Most stores are $2.50 to $2.99. No we won't be going back to Publix. read more

I visited Publix last week while staying on Fripp Island. The store was extremely busy. I was needing Pico. I finally ask after searching myself. A lady that worked for Publix said she would show me where it was because they had moved it. There was none there so she went to the back. She came out with sad news that there was none in the back. I thanked her and headed to the checkout. I thought I heard someone behind me and it was that sweet lady holding up the PICO she had found and told me it was the stores last one. No one goes the extra mile these days but this precious lady at Publix did. read more

I am increasingly dismayed at how often Publix is out of items. The excuse is always they are waiting for the next truck, but everyone around here complains about this problem. No milk, hamburger buns, fish... really? Last week I had to go to another store to complete my grocery order because of the poor stock. Fancy new building but the Customer Service is the same, especially at the Deli. It is inconceivable to me that nobody in a Supervisory capacity can see what the customers see. Deli service is glacial and new worker bees only appear feom the back when someone with a tie shows up. Zero improvement in organic foods. What this area needs is a Kroger.
