This review is for Verdana Village. The rudeness at this store is off the charts, particularly from "Debbie". Today she yelled at an elderly gentleman at the top of her lungs in the self check-out, because he needed an ID check. She said she had other things to do, she can't just cater to his needs. Poor guy. PUBLIX, who prattles on about the importance of their customers should be ASHAMED to allow this behavior to occur. read more

On August 3rd at 1:50pm , my fiancé and I headed to Publix after the beach for a pub sub.. keep in mind we were standing in the line ( 3 single individuals) in front of us with all 3 sub stations open we didn't even up leaving the deli department until 2:45pm.... The sub makers were beyond slow , at-least two of them. We ended up with Marcos.. just unbelievable slow at making subs, he made one of ours. Then the 2nd he took an intermission break to walk around and look for stuff. Maybe train them to be a little faster read more

I go here all of the time and felt the urge to leave a review today. I was at checkout where two young gentlemen cashiers were all smiles and good times along with a nice young lady bagging my soups. Then out of nowhere a blonde lady(I'm assuming some form of manager) with a tight bun and an even tighter attitude came slithering in, immediately all formerly happy employees get hit with a wave of fear and unease, as do I. Suddenly she starts threatening one employee and making demands to the other meanwhile I'm standing there but maybe she couldn't see me through the fire in her eyes. I'm not sure what these young people could have done to upset this women so but as impressive as it is that she could completely deplete everyone of life around her, I did find it very unprofessional. Matt in the deli is such a great guy. My girlfriend and I had an amazing conversation with him as he quickly prepared our food. When he was making our food he did things like ask us if we wanted garlic or dill pickles, and he asked if we wanted spicy, regular, or honey mustard, which was very thoughtful of him. I love this Publix and have been shopping there for over 10 years. Recently I have experienced a rude and overbearing employee at the customer service counter. . Her name is Wendy. She is loud and a fast talker and insists on getting the last word in. She keyed in the wrong thing I requested of her and then insisted I told her the wrong thing. Maybe if she was not engaged talking silliness to a coworker and paying attention to the customer this would not have happen. I have seen her do this with other customers as well. I get it that it is a busy time of year and it is a bit overwhelming but I have never experienced this with any other employee at this store. Quite the opposite. Convenient, clean, and reasonable price. The sandwiches and bakery were good, and the cake looked very good. Fruit was better than average, and veggies were particularly good when I visited. They have a whole aisle of cold beer, too. I suppose that's just the nature of being down here. Parking lot is a danger, though, almost ran over by an old lady that didn't watch while reversing. I like Publix and have been a loyal customer for almost 50 years. Their stores are clean and well laid out. They carry Boars Head meat and cheese. Their associates are friendly. Service is good. My only complaint? Their prices are high. read more

This is not my home Publix, but went here when visiting family in the area. The butcher at my home store is so congenial and helpful, but that was sure not my experience at this store! I asked the very grumpy older lady behind the counter to cut some meat for me; she grudgingly said well, she guessed she could, but they had just cleaned their equipment for the night (it was 5 pm). I went to the CVS pharmacy this morning to get my wife's medication, unfortunately they didn't have it in stock and suggested I go to the Publix a cross the street. When I asked about transferring her prescription, CVS said "no problem just have Publix call us and we will send it right over. So I ran over to the Publix Pharmacy. When I asked the Publix Pharmacist how long it would take, the response was 24-48 hours. Really! 24-48 hours to call across the street, unbelievable. It's a super market. You don't need a special card to get the sale prices. Always a plus in my book. Arrived near closing on a Tuesday night. Fresh fruit was nonexistent or extremely picked over. Went to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription this afternoon. The blonde lady at the pharmacy is always the one who I have to work with and she is always extremely rude to me. Today in particular was the worst of all. I walked up and told her I was there to pick up my prescription. Throughout the entire transaction she didn't say a single word to me. They changed the whipped cream/real fruit cake and filled it with strawberry preservative filling. This was my favorite cake, and now it is ruined. They also changed the price in cost. The small was 19.99 now it is 25.99. I feel bad for the customers that are wasting their money. I do not eat cake much, and I prefer a light, real fresh fruit cake. They glazed the fruit on top and ruined the filling to an unhealthy strawberry sauce preservative version. This was the worst cake I ever had. Never again Publix! read more

Publix, overall I love. However, there is this man that works at the pharmacy and he is so rude. I am a college student, so obviously I'm new at having to call in my own medicine, and he was so rude for no reason. I had a question about transferring my prescription and both companies were telling me to have the other call one another, and I tried explaining that to him and he preceded to say "well maybe you should call them back and try explaining it a little better because it took me a couple of seconds to understand what you were trying to say". At that point I was over it, I clearly didn't know what I was doing and all I asked for was some help, which clearly he couldn't. My roommate has also had the same problems with the same pharmacist; she wanted to transfer her prescription to publix pharmacy and so she asked him to spell the prescription name and he started to get annoyed with her and quickly spelled it out- to which she could not even write it down fast enough. My mother, and sister both work for my publix at home and my father works for corporate so this upset my parents that as a young adult, we are being treated this way at the pharmacy that I've grown up using, but I am certainly discouraged from ever using the one at this publix. I also would never write a review, but since he has been so rude to me twice, and my roommate, I felt the need to say something. Thank you. read more

This is your average grocery store stocked with all of the normal groceries. It has a nice and friendly staff. I think much of their groceries are on the expensive side but good selection and good looking produce. However the true gem of this grocery is their seafood. The best part is buy what you want and they will season it with old bay and steam it while you wait. I got two pounds of shrimp steamed a key lime pie and a bag of chips and cocktail sauce. By far the worst pharmacy I have dealt with. First day the prescription was called in, so the next day I call to check if it is ready. I was told it would be arriving at the store between 2-3. I go to the pharmacy at 430 and it is still not ready. I had forgotten my prescription card so I returned the following day only to find out it is still not ready. Three days later and my prescription isn't ready. Really, what are they doing back behind the counter? read more

If you're thinking of getting a sandwich from this store I hope you have 45 minutes to wait. There were 5 people were in front of me, with 2 people making sandwiches. I'll let you do the math for how long that is per sandwich. It was finally my turn, unfortunately I interrupted their complaint time about their fellow employees. After standing there in shock I was finally asked "whatcha want?"!
