My family was visiting from florida and needed to go to this store a couple of times during our trip. I like the store, although navigating it is a bit confusing sometimes. The prices are reasonable and the selection was great. I found everything I needed. What stood out the most, though, is the friendliness of the employees. Every single person I encountered was engaging and kind. I was asked a couple of times how I was doing and if I needed help finding anything. Such a great experience. Such a nice chain of grocery stores in Florida. It is certainly not the cheapest food store, but probably friendliest with a great service orientation. It is mostly well stocked with plenty of varieties and quite a lot of fresh produce. The employees are trained to make customers feel comfortable and relaxed during the shopping experience and it really shows. We liked the variety of ice creams they had in stock. Publix bakery is a joke. After getting this cake then taking it back because it wasn't what we wanted the manager Fred and his employee were very unprofessional and rude. The theme is safari first birthday smash cake. My friend payed a lot of money to get photos of her son smashing a cake and this is how you treat her? She asked to just have a white cake instead after they did not make what she asked and the manager refused and told her we don't have white cakes. We're very disappointed in how things were handled. My family, friends, and I will not be doing business with Publix again. read more

I'm tired of being stereotyped at this store! It had been while until 12/14/24. I have had problems with managers not doing their job first by not properly training their staff for instance if someone need assistance rather than thinking or being trained to look suspiciously at every man whose carrying a backpack that doesn't look like a student. One time I even had a tall, caucasian, male Manger to profile me. He had immediately started following me when I had looked across my shoulder. There was this one time as I was leaving the store after checking out with a cashier, I had bent down between the exit and entrance to put up my wallet, this young look down at me so hard as if I was up to no good or stealing something. There was another time while shopping at this location a employee was watching me down the aisle suspiciously or as a "man starring hard at a beautiful woman" that makes them uncomfortable! I'm just so sick & tired of this crap. I have talked with the District Manager over Publix stores in this area and customer service to no avail. Because this store is as biased as hell. I understand that shoplifting still goes on but if you took the darn time to get to know your frequent shoppers, that I am it could be helpful to squash some of this. read more

Here in Florida, Publix is pretty much the go-to place for groceries for a lot of people. Their prices are very often a bit more expensive, but they make up for it in customer service, general cleanliness, and user experience while in the store. This store is no exception... they know what they are doing and get the product out to the customer in a timely fashion with good quality. I have heard some of the statistics for their fried chicken sales, and it is astounding just how much chicken they go through in a given week. I had a great experience this time around, because I knew folks working there and they were great to me. Publix really is your neighborhood location to go to for food. read more

What is it about people these days?! It used to be that Publix was helpful and friendly. I enjoyed shopping there. Gotta say I asked three separate employees one of which was a manager who were unwilling to direct me show me or tell me where or if I could find what I was looking for. All the employees were great except Fred, he is horribly rude and treated me poorly at customer service. No customer should be treated with the disrespect that he did me. I asked him a few simple questions and he replied with sarcastic responses trying to make me feel dumb. Publix in general is a great company and a great grocery store. This one in particular is quite impressive with the amount of keto-friendly food that they have available. The staff members are kind and helpful. The store is clean and well-stocked. It's also located around other hotspots-Baskin-Robbins, Dunkin Donuts, KFC, Jersey Mikes, and Samurai. I have to say Publix is my go-to store and here is why. 1. Customer service is usually always great. I have yet to ask a question or report an issue that hasn't be solved within minutes. 2. They handle couponing like a champ. The cashiers are friendly, patient and knowledgable about all coupons on \d coupon rules. 3. Cleanliness. I have not been a Publix that hasn't been stocked and clean. 4. Finally deals. Yes, their prices may be a wee bit more than larger chain stores but you can not beat their BOGO deals. Overall between being clean and well-stocked, friendly and great BOGO I am not sure why anyone would shop elsewhere. read more

I came in with 11 gift cards that I had collected thorough work over the last year and asked if there was a way to combine all of them onto one, a pain in the a** request, but they happily did it and then help me create a bomb chicken tender pubsub for the first time. Ok, my guilty Yelp pleasure is clearly writing contradictory reviews after I see one that I find just enormously stupid. So here we go! A great store gets 1 star because it's too expensive? Expensive if you make less than minimum wage and have 7 children perhaps. Funny enough, it's not always more expensive. We made the drive over to...gulp, Winn dixie, recently because they had some really awesome deals on meat, so we stocked the deep freezer with some ribs and pork butt for a party. So after cruising down a few other isles to just save a trip to Publix, we discovered that many of the items we were going to buy were noticeably more expensive at WD than Publix. So, in Gainesville you basically have 3 real choices: Publix - Clean, convenient locations, some good prices, BOGO's are usually solid, and a great deli. Winn Dixie - 2 locations, both on Main St. Both dirty, scuzzy, and given the shoppers there are generally low class, it's clear they don't care about keeping up appearances. But they do occasionally have great deals on meat. Super Wal-Mart - Drive all the way to Waldo Rd. Good prices (usually). Most annoying and inconsiderate customers on the face of the earth. The worst checkout experience ever, as every cashier is barely literate and slow as hell. And they only open 2 or 3 checkout lanes no matter how many people are waiting. Their produce sucks and their meat is a little creepy. This is just a no brainer. read more

Overall, this is a pretty good Publix, but just really sloppy in some areas so you gotta be alert. Some good things: The deli, sandwiches, and hot food area has a sit down area with tables and soda fountain, so it's good for combo getting dinner and groceries. Sandwiches area is pretty good and has a wider variety of sauces than other locations. You can get weird mustards, or horseradish, or other sauces (the selection rotates and it's a good way to try out the Boar's Head condiments). Some bad things: The bakery area will tell you stuff doesn't have nuts in it when it does. They sold my mother in law a cake for my nut allergic son's birthday that was called "Hazelnut Indulgence" and had hazelnuts in it and told her it did not have any nuts in it when she asked. Yes, she should read the name of the cake, but also the deli shouldn't have done that, especially when she told them this whole story of nut allergic 3 yr old birthday, does this have nuts in it? Luckily, I was home when she got there with the cake, because she believed Publix and would have just fed it to him. Also, when I was recently on WIC, the Publix system is to where the order in which things ring up on the register matters. If anything messed up, or if an item labeled on the shelf as WIC and on the state WIC list didn't ring up as WIC, the manager with a mustache who works weekdays was super rude about WIC and wouldn't correct issues and would make comments abt wasting time. In short, good deli section, but you have to watch everything at this location. ... And, quick update. The same say I wrote this review, leaving in check out, a bunch of things rang up wrong. Got it fixed before paying, but wasn't able to see the whole charge list, just the bottom items showing on the computer screen of charges. Before leaving, checked my receipt, and there were still eleven dollars of overcharges from not voiding a the overcharges and instead adding on the sale prices but leaving the original price, so double ringing at original and sale price for a couple of things. So, then I had to wait in the Customer Service line and go through whole same thing of showing the sale price and proving that price to get the overcharge voided. Then, three kids under 5 in the shopping cart with groceries, no one helped me out, and the parking lot does not have cart drop off areas. With no drop off for carts, the carts just scatter all over and I didn't have a place to put the cart that wasn't a parking space and had the kids to mind so had to just leave the cart loose. Ugh. Yeah, it is not very put together for a Publix location. read more

Publix is the best grocery store in Florida. They are extremely customer oriented, the specialty departments have high quality items, the stores are clean, with large open aisles. Ask any employee for assistance and he or she will immediately stop what they are doing and walk with you to the location of the item you are seeking. Flyers come out every Tuesday with new sales and BOGO's (buy one get on free) Publix has great customer service and will walk you to an item you need match coupons and go the extra mile to keep you happy. read more

Every time I go here the people are so nice and friendly it's amazing, but the reason I am writing this review is because of the below. Tonight I went there and after going through the line I forgot to mention the coupon in the weekly flyer, it was for $1 off some cashew milk. Well after paying with my credit card, I mentioned this to the cashier, so she simply input something into her register, a receipt popped out saying "$1.00 coupon" and she opened the register and handed me $1. I don't know if this is policy, but all I can say is that that is just awesome. read more

As always Publix has the best customer service by far!! Any and all of there competitors should learn as much as possible from them in every aspect. Well yesterday morning I had a stand-out experience...I was already running late for a plane but had to stop at this publix. I went in and handled business and left but once I'd gotten across town I noticed i had left my cell phone. I called and the same girl that had helped me at the customer service counter answered the phone. I told her what had happened and I was on my way. She knew I was in a hurry and so once I'd returned she had already found my phone and took it upon herself to collect all the change id left earlier (because of rushing) and turn it into dollars ($3) so I was able to get out of there super quick. She was amazing and I'll never forget it!!!! read more

I come here all the time, its a wonderful place to shop at. The associates are friendly, helpful and above all making shopping a pleasure for me and my family. I make sure to look for some of my favorite cashiers (Will g. , Ashley, Ernesto , and others). These associates tend to go above and beyond when it comes to customer service and I enjoy their presence when they check out my groceries. I also like the selection of fresh produce and fresh bakery items. This store goes above and eyond when it comes to helping a customer. If they cant find the answer themselves they will ask others. When this Publix opened it seemed like it was going to be the best one in town. It has become the worst. All the interesting food in the deli is gone. Same overpriced average food every day. Good luck getting anything hot after 8. They're always understaffed in the deli and when someone is working the lines are way too long. Good luck with the parking lot too, No spaces most of the day. Your cashier WILL G., is the most disrespectful person I have ever encountered at a Publix in my LIFE. I do not know this man but throughout me and my roommates checking, he spent all 25 of those minutes insulting me to no end. Not only did WILL G. call me a "mess" and a "slob" and a "liar", but he also continued to instigate that I am a disgusting mess without even knowing me. My roommates made a joke saying I was the "messiest" in my household, and your employee without even knowing that that wasn't true, shoved himself into a situation he did not belong to and continue to insult me publicly for the next 25 minutes. I will never shop at this Publix again because of this incident and do believe Will G. deserves punishment or something to be done about his awful behavior. A person like Will G. should not be in the position to represent an establishment like Publix, he is a disgrace to your name and a terrible human being. I did not expect to be ridiculed by my cashier, but Will G. thought that was the right idea. I am appalled and insulted and angry. Take action. read more

I came to buy flowers for the wife. I was at the cashier line and Elizabeth asked if I wanted the flower cut and placed in vase. Elizabeth then hand delivered the flowers to the floral department where Britney put the floral arrangement together for me. They truly went the extra mile by helping me save time and most important look good for the wife. read more

This is a model store in most every way. Everyone seems sharp and on point, it's rare that something is out of stock, and the store itself is large, modern, and clean. Being a larger Publix, there are greater selections of some types of products, including in the deli where they have an antipasto bar and other things missing from Main Street. There is a sense of order and professionalism here. The parking lot seems safe due to a lack of sketchy people hanging out and asking for money. read more

It's a Publix, so I expect it to be expensive, but what I'm not used to is the complete absence of cart-return stations in the parking lot. As a result, the parking lot is littered with carts, inevitably in the best parking spots. read more
