The employees at this Publix are the worst for service anywhere in The Villages. They all seems to nearly always be having a bad day. Today I needed a product and asked a woman employee who told me that she didn't know where "bandages" were and that she would help but was "off the clock". What a stupid, unhelpful union-like response. Frankly, she should be fired for having that type of attitude with customers. But really not that unusual at this location. read more

The store is very by locations. Some are superstores and some are smaller. Always clean plenty of selection super nice staff. They run great specials. Bakery offers excellent cakes. read more

Why is this store always out of stocknohf items. There isn't one ttime we have shopped that we didn't have items that were out of stock. They have never had fresh chicken!!! read more

Publix has done a wonderful job adding more and more products one would find in upscale boutique stores - and non GMO products - making it easier for one stop shopping. Recent additions for which I am grateful include: Harken chardonnay, Bulletproof coffee, a large variety of almond and coconut creamers and ice creams - a very good selection there, in fact - excellent flour choices such as almond, millet, cassava and coconut, vegan eggs, non lectin snack foods, more organic vegetables, a micro coffee roaster I had only before seen in Whole Foods, etc. You get the picture. On my last visit all I needed was some French butter and chardonnay and actually walked out with an overflowing cart. So, I thank you for listening to us and continuing to improve. Most days are busy at this location but perhaps Sunday when everyone is at church is a good time to go and the older couples holding hands aren't crowding the aisles. The employees I have encountered at any Publix location are top notch. So pleasant and happy to work there. It is absolutely refreshing. I also give Publix high marks for their no nonsense sales prices. They offer ample 2-for-1 deals and sales throughout the store WITHOUT having to have a ridiculous card and be tracked on your purchases. Honestly, the new Whole Foods / Amazon tracking thing has made me veer away from them. Do not need Big Brother in my grocery purchases - thank you very much. Oh, and love my Lillies! Love them - a product I could only before find at Trader Joe's. So. great job Publix - great job! read more

Publix has the BEST OF THE BEST, in customer service, I was helped by Danny and Lauren today in the deli department, and was soo blown away at them actually wanting to help, and make sure I had everything I needed. ( I guess I've been bummed by the Walmart experience)Its 100% the little things that count, especially in today's society of narcissism. I've worked in hospitality before, and notice when people genuinely care, and know when they're forcing themselves to care. Danny and Lauren are assets to the Publix name, and hopefully are compensated respectful to their customer service excellence. I will be shopping at Publix as much as possible from now on. read more

Decent store. Pleasant staff. Produce is fresh. Place is clean, including the bathrooms. Decent selection in all depts. The review from several years ago reminding others to be careful of elders in golf carts isn't kidding... I was passing through the area & stopped in & at least 6 golf carts with someone 75+ driving them were present at all times... as 1 left, another octogenarian in a golf cart too their place. They weren't careless, just steady, careful & slow moving. However, this isn't a surprise as The Villages is a well known senior playground. 4* out of 5. read more

Up date, while the supermarket is great I have to complain about the dogs people walking in the store with the phony service dog thing,actually people just go in with their dog with no service vest. I have seen the dogs sitting in the child's seat,discusting. The help is blind to this and say nothing! There are signs posted on the outside prohibiting non service dogs but the sign is so neutral that you have to be looking for it to see it. They need a sign that brings attention to the issue. One time I walked in and there is this dog going along the isles with his idiot owner and the dog is sniffing the products as they walked along. I'm waiting to see some dog lift it's leg and do his thing one day, I'll take a picture of that,lol! read more

I am torn between a 2 star and a 4 star so I settled on 3!! This place is an enigma. In general, they have a great selection of stock - far, far better than Sweetbay (which, by the way, is a foreign owned company!!) On the other hand, their prices on many items are so far out of line, I find myself (ahhhhhhhh errrrrrrrr wellllllllll) going to WalMart!!! Examples: same cereals can run $1 to $2 cheaper at WalMart and Edy's ice cream is at least $1.50 cheaper at WalMart. In fact, if you compare prices at The Villages Publix to Publix in, for example, Orlando, you will find significanly cheaper pricing in Orlando!! BUT, they are convenient and they do have a good stock. They just need to stop ripping us off!!! At least the milk is made in USA :) read more

This Publix, in my opinion, is the best Publix in The Villages. It's clean; shelves always stocked; produce is nice; deli & bakery selections are great (bread too); & most of the staff are friendly & helpful. They have a decent wine selection too. read more

This is one if the better Publix in the area IMHO. The bakery has a better selection and they always have a constant supply of Dr. Brown's Cel-ray. I come out of my way just to ogle their baked goods. read more

Deli department is always a mess and frequently understaffed. There is ALWAYS a long line. I've ordered subs online several times in the past (which they encourage you to do to avoid the lines) and EVERY TIME without fail my order is incorrect or they haven't even started preparing it at pickup time. This is unacceptable. Cashiers all have permanent scowls on their face and act like you simply being there is an actual bother to them. Worst Publix I've ever been too. read more
