Have always loved Publix but recently the deli has had poor service. Went there today to get some spicy hot wings and they were out. Asked the person behind the counter how long it would take to get an order and she said 15 minutes. After 30 minutes asked again and she hadn't even told the people in the back. Said it would be another 15 minutes so we left. You guys can do better. read more

Probably the best grocery store in Thomasville. We went here just to get some roses, fruit, and dinner at our hotel. I should have grabbed a sandwich or hot food at the deli but was too tired from traveling to think clearly. Service was good. Ambiance was good too. We were on the road non stop in May. They didn't have any dragonfruit that I wanted but I should have picked some fresh watermelon and berries to eat. read more

Publix is Expensive, and the produce never looks good. The staff is friendly, so thats a bonus...but i hate to say Walmarts produce looks better, and thats hard for me to say as i dislike supporting the wallys! read more

Ordered groceries online from publix/instacart and my order delivery was changed from 2 hours to 3 hours, which was from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. That was my dinner. I will not do that again. Very disappointing. read more

I work in Thomasville and live 45 miles away. Where do you think I shop? Publix in Thomasville. The service has always been excellent. They will steam your shrimp in the seafood department with your choice of seasoning. Excellent meal for the cost. read more

The bakery is clueless. After several calls and going over it with three different people because they kept losing my order it was still wrong. When I complained they said there was nothing they could do. Warning, do not use them if accuracy or customer service is a stickler for you. read more

I was here…read morein search of cane syrup, understand, from out of town--just visiting after an afternoon at the springs and dinner at O'Neal's Buffet. My friend and local guide to Madison told me I needed to check here for the syrup--it's where he gets fishing tackle . . . yes, at a grocery store. There are like three aisles of just fishing tackle and reels and rods. In a grocery store. That's the first sign you're somewhere special. And there's like half an aisle of camping gear, as well. The store otherwise seems larger than most IGAs I've been to before and well-stocked. They didn't have pure cane syrup but they had an astounding variety of cane syrup blends: Gilley's, Daddy Buck's, Delta, and others. Cane syrup, like maple syrup, is expensive when pure so it often gets blended with other sweeteners--I use it in baking so that's overall ok by me. They may also have been out because we're right upon the season when it's traditionally made, so last year's supply may be running low and this year's not to market just yet. Aside from the syrups, they had a great baking aisle in general: lots of cornbread and other savory mixes (hushpuppies, et cetera), cake mixes, and Goodman's Extracts which Publix doesn't carry and other stores may at best have just their vanilla but they make good, stranger flavored, extracts like caramel and black walnut. If you want to know if people in a given community like to bake, go to the local grocery store, check out the extracts: if they have a vast selection, you've got serious bakers around. The smell of this store is unlike anything I've ever smelled before: not bad, but just weird. Maybe plasticky, not quite chemical, not quite food, again not bad but just strange. Still, this store is a winner in my book, it feels a bit out of the 80s, a bit stuck in time, but a gem all the same.

Unfortunately, this second visit confirmed their food just isn't for me. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel again, hoping for some improvement, but it was somehow worse this time. The bacon was completely undercooked, soggy and basically raw. I've posted a photo so you can see for yourself. It was unappetizing, and I couldn't eat it, just like my first try. The coffee is good, which is a small redeeming quality, but mine was barely room temperature. For a place known for drinks, I'd expect better consistency. If you're just stopping by for coffee, you might be okay (as long as it's fresh and hot). But when it comes to the food? I'm officially done trying.
