    Pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw.

We named this style of BBQ Nouveau Que. We were made welcomed when we walked in the door. Several things impressed me about the restaurant. When I asked a question, the waitress knew the answer to how items were prepared and what was in them. She was friendly and patient. She expertly painted a picture with her words of each dish we ask about, from the sweet potato fries to the Brunswick stew. The sweet potato fries are made in house, cut into wedges, fried and sprinkled with butt rub instead of the usual cinnamon sugar concoction This sounded very good. I wish I could remember the waitress's name but she was there when they started. I ordered an appetizer at Brunswick stew and a chopped brisket sandwich. My side was baked beans. Everything came out together, but that is not the waitress's fault. I did not ask to have my stew brought out early. my dining companions ordered pulled pork sandwiches. One had the coleslaw and the other the fried brussels sprouts with a maple glaze. I must say that my chopped brisket sandwich was the best of all three. It was moist and fat to meat ratio was perfect. I especially enjoyed the pickle on top of the bun. It was made in house and was delicious. They also make a hot pickle carrot salad that comes as a small side. I liked the bun pickles better. The coleslaw was good and the brussels sprouts were very sweet with the maple glaze. I liked them. You had your choice of many sauces on the table. One was a regular sauce, one a mustard sauce, a vinegar sauce, and a combination of them both. I tend to like a sweeter sauce. But I'm not a mustard fan. The baked beans were flavorful but a tad dry. I just put more regular bbq sauce on them. I really want to try the sweet potato fries next time. Management was on deck, walking around making sure that everyone's service and meals were to their liking. He was friendly and explained why they wanted to do business and Thomasville. I highly recommend supporting this restaurant. It is very good and I will return. This was just the way . A quality establishment should be run.

Five Stars for Woodstack BBQ! Finally got around to trying Woodstack BBQ, the new kid on the block--and let me just say, they absolutely nailed it. From the second I walked in, the smell alone let me know I was in for something special. That smoky, savory aroma hits you like a warm hug and makes you twice as hungry as you were when you pulled into the lot. I was greeted with smiles and told it'd be a quick 10-minute wait, which honestly flew by thanks to the nice touch of having peanuts and cold water out on the porch. Hospitality matters, and they've got it in spades. Once seated, my server was polite, attentive, and on point--my tea glass never saw the bottom. The food? Outstanding. The pulled pork was flavorful and juicy, the brisket sliced like butter (not kidding), and even the sides deserve a standing ovation. The slaw was crisp and fresh, the mac was creamy and rich, and that house-made balsamic dressing on the salad? Chef's kiss. And let's talk value--great prices for the quality and portion sizes they're dishing out. This place knows what it's doing. If you haven't been yet, don't wait. Take the trip, bring your appetite, and get yourself some seriously great BBQ. Woodstack BBQ is a new staple in town--and they earned that title fast

For openers, if you think the best barbecue is usually found in the worst part of town, in a place…read morewith bars on the windows, and just enough grease on the table to write your initials - then this isn't it. This is a barbecue joint (anyplace that serves barbecue is, by definition, a joint) just off the highway in Valdosta, Georgia... and worth all the confusion created when Waze takes you a block too far, and Yelp says they're about to close their doors for the day, which just wasn't the case. The Woodstack BBQ Tavern came into being in 2015 when three guys bought an old liquor warehouse with a monstrous photo of the Budweiser Clydesdale team pulling their famous wagon spanning the front wall. No deal if the building didn't come with the Budweiser mural. Two of thee three, Justin and Randy are running the place now and about to open another in Thomasville. For a guy who has spent a lifetime in pursuit of the perfect barbecue (read my more than 120 barbecue reviews from across the country on Yelp), this is a jewel worth all the confusion finding them and finding them open. Other reviews touch on the friendliness and they're right on... call for info (are you open, Yelp says you're about to close), to when you come thru the door, place your order and pay the tab, it/'s like your back home neighborhood diner. Lisa seems to be keeping things under control out front while folks in the kitchen keep the great 'cue coming. And at good prices. We had the three meat special (with two sides) for $28, but only after some freshly cooked, well seasoned pork rinds ($11 for a healthy serving)... Burnt ends (started by Arthur Bryant in Kansas City more than 50 years ago) were tender, flush with flavor and a great choice. The ribs were good complete with a validating smoke ring, but the best of the threesome we gorged on was the pulled pork. Some of the best the Brown Shoe Gourmet has enjoyed in some time. We skipped their fries (frozen with seasoning) and had their homemade chips (excellent), slaw (slaw that was just that) and fried Brussel sprouts for the one amongst us who doesn't understand that's not a legitimate barbecue joint side dish. She raved about them and made sure there was some left to take home. Go figure. Turns out we missed out on one of Woodstack's best known sides: homemade onion rings. Who knew? Sauces? Yes, three of them: a thin pepper and vinegar, a mustard based sauce and the traditional very slightly spiced tomato sauce - by far the best and worth buying. And while a lot joints now give you half ounce cups of sauce (or make yu stand in line to choose from too many (City Cue are you listening?) Woodstack puts freshly filled bottles on the table. What a novel idea - sample without holding uo a line- letting the customer decide which sauce and how much? A negative? There was one. No colorful tee shirt to add to the collection of more than 200. The dining area is spotlessly clean as are the rest room; the foods is really good and almost all homemade (they use post oak as is the wood of choice throughout Texas) and the hospitality, led by the smiling ball of energy that is Lisa, is outstanding. Five stars to Valdosta's Woodstack. We'll be back next trip south.

We started with chipotle hummus and an order of the pork rinds. The pork rinds came out still popping. It was so yummy seasoned perfectly and pair with a sweet jalapeño dip. The hummus was topped with feta. I wished the pita was not so crunchy but it was still good. The main dishes were all great and the portions are large. We had the battered shrimp, burger, and chopped steak. The sides all were good. My favorite was the buttermilk fried okra and Brussels sprouts. Don't come if you're on a diet. It's hearty southern comfort style food that will leave you in a food coma. There were still other menu items I want to try. I've been told to ask for the burnt ends, but when we went, they did not have any.

Jesse was our server, he did an incredible job. As someone who worked in hospitality for 10 years, I give the food and the service 10 stars. French bread toasted and topped with fried oysters, poached eggs, and a Cajun cream sauce. So delicious and perfectly prepared. Bloody Mary paired very well with this dish! Red beans and rice as the second side...a personal favorite. We sat outside as it has a great vibe since it's located at an old train depot! If you're lucky a train will pass by while you're dining! Service is nice and servers are very attentive. You can also sit in the Bar Mason and get fabulous service as well and order off of the menu as if you were in the restaurant or sitting outside. I've been here a couple times. Their BBQ is really good. It takes a good while to make your food,…read moreso even if you're eating at the mall you are probably better off ordering from their website/app (they use Toast Takeout) and picking up your food when it's ready. I've had the brisket platter and the Seminole. The Seminole is a sampler: two pulled pork sandwiches, wings, ribs, sausage and corn bread. The brisket platter is a couple strips of brisket and two sides. I love their pulled pork, ribs and brisket. Also, the Smokehouse Chips and Hot Honey Cornbread are tasty. The only thing I haven't liked are the wings which were dry and tough. Also, while I loved the brisket, there wasn't much of it. The Seminole on the other hand is enough for two people. Their sauces are sooo good. I've tried Carolina Tangy Gold, Spicy BBQ and Gochu Sauce. They were all really good. My favorite is the Spicy BBQ.

I didn't try the cornbread because it's a hot honey and I do not like spice but I have heard good things about it. I hear the salmon dinner is also good. The prices are a little steep but what isn't these days? I'd definitely give them another try.
