    Outdoor seating.

We came on the Sunday morning of July 4 weekend. There was plenty of seating and it was pleasant outside so we sat on the patio. The food was good and came out quick. I had biscuits and gravy and it was excellent. I will say the hashbrowns were pretty terrible though. Really, really dry and flavorless. Everyone got their morning coffee orders, which were all accurate and excellent. Overall, it was a nice experience and will definitely be back when we're in the local area. It's affordable and the food was good.

Fantastic breakfast spot in downtown Weaverville. We were passing through on a Saturday morning and wanted local flair not interstate food and this spot was perfect. We had the Cowboy Kenny plate and the gritty kielbasa bowl. Both outstanding and great coffee. Put this place on your list of stops. Thanks yellow mug, you gave my weekend a great start.

We had a group of 16 and I honestly wasn't sure how our experience would be simply bc sometimes large groups make everything more complicated, BUT we had the BEST experience! The staff were kind and friendly! The food came out quickly and everything was very good! Bagels and biscuits are a must get! We had to sit at different tables due to our size, but that wasn't an issue for us! They have high chairs for little ones and all of our 5 kiddos approved of the food options! Def recommend!

This is a cool hidden gem if you find yourself in the Weaverville, NC area. Their breakfast portion size is much larger than anticipated plus for the most part they are giving you healthy sides. Service was quick and friendly in spite of being busy. Ambience is traditional and they have both inside and outside seating (next to Remax). Food was absolutely delicious, non of us had any complaints about our meals. Great selection of coffee drinks too. We'd come back!

    Dos Amigos

I recently visited Yellow Mug Café for breakfast with friends and had the Dos Amigos. Savory corn tortillas were filled with fluffy scrambled eggs, creamy avocado, soft black beans, juicy corn, and crisp onions. The breakfast tacos were paired with savory crisped hash browns. Overall, this was a nice breakfast stop.

Mmm biscuits n' gravy...bacon...coffee!!! This lil' place has a great vibe, cool ambiance and a very welcoming feel. Stop by and get yourself delicious food, work if you need too, or just have a coffee and start your day right!

This is your quintessential neighborhood coffee house - and my husband and I ended up stopping by Yellow Mug twice during a quick weekend trip because it was THAT good! We were staying in the Weaverville area, which made this a convenient stop for us - but I highly recommend making the short drive up from Asheville for this eclectic little coffee shop. You won't regret it (and downtown Weaverville is worth seeing!) Although we only experienced coffee and baked goods to-go, we could tell this is a great place to sit down and enjoy breakfast or lunch. On our first visit, I ordered their "Espresso Shaker," which is comparable to a Shaken Espresso from Starbucks, but more sweet and creamy. The second time around, I went with the "Salted Almond Roca" latte, which was absolutely delicious, and something I've never tried before! I recommend either of these drinks if you like your coffee on the sweet side, although I believe you could get the Espresso Shaker without flavor if you'd like. We also sampled a few of their pastries, and highly recommend either the Ham & Cheese croissant or the Banana Walnut muffin (although I'm sure you can't go wrong here!) Their cookies also looked spectacular, and we kept meaning to stop by and grab some to-go in the afternoon, but just didn't get around to it. The only thing we felt was missing was physical yellow mugs for us to purchase and take home as a souvenir! Even still, you won't be disappointed by a visit to Yellow Mug - and might just find your new favorite coffee shop while traveling.

Wonderful, a true gem. Visiting AVL and we tended to think downtown was where it's at, after some local reviews elsewhere, we were lucky to learn about Yellow Mug. Breakfast sandwich, for 6 dollars plus a dollar up charge for the wheatberry bread, was a steal. I was only able to finish half, could easily share. A short drive from our Airbnb in Woodfin, a true find for sure.

Great local coffee shop with a great breakfast and lunch selection, along with a few beer and sparking waters. Hefty list of specialty coffee (you have to try the honey lavender latte or iced matcha with lavender!). Staff is always smiling and there is a ton of indoor and outdoor seating. Street parking available and a few spots on the side of the building.

This is a go-to. Good coffee with delicious breakfast and lunch items that are reasonably priced. Good and efficient service. Quirky vibe.

There is street parking nearby, and this place is always hopping. This place makes me think of a southerner's take on a French bakery. Absolutely gorgeous on the inside with decadent sweets to choose from, while also featuring classics like a Swiss roll or a cream puff. They also offer breakfast/brunch/lunch, as well as made to order cakes. (Their coconut cake is award-winning). We came in recently and got a BLT, chicken salad on croissant (with watermelon salad), quiche, cream puff, lemon Swiss roll, and lattes. The sandwiches were all delicious and this was my first time trying watermelon salad - fresh and perfect to accompany the sandwiches. Their quiches are large and filling - perfect on their own for breakfast. For lattes, we got a vanilla latte, and then their July 4th special, which had strawberry and white chocolate in it - the July 4th specialty latte was decadent - if you like sweet, you should give it a try. All in all, I think we paid $50ish for our meal. This spot is a must if you're in the area!

I liked the name so much because I was the type of person who used malaprops a good amount. It's extra charming because you're able to order something from their cafe while reading your book. This spot is deceptively huge. The different sections are very intentional and beautifully organized. I had an especially great time looking at the "Beautiful Books" section this visit. I ended up falling in love with a short stories book by Chips Hardy that I took home. I also adored their graphic t-shirts here. I am not a big t-shirt person, but always want more graphic tees, so was so excited to love this one so much. I had a really special experience with one of the booksellers here on my recent visit too. I could not find The Enchanted April in the fiction section and when I asked, one of the booksellers got really excited about the author and that book. She passionately told me how wonderful the book was. We were sad to see it was sold out, but suggested I check a bookstore a block over. I love this bookstore and think everyone should make it a stop on an Asheville trip.

I tried to go back this year, and am so appalled by the customer service (or lack thereof) that I will now give it 0 stars, so settled for two since I can't do two and a half. Yes, the food and ambiance were wonderful in 2025. I tried to book another afternoon tea party and called a month and a half in advance. This was to celebrate multiple birthdays with a group of busy moms so wanted to get it on the calendar. No one called me back despite the voicemail saying that we would hear back "promptly." I left two more messages in a span of two, three weeks and still nothing. I even emailed, no response. Finally, a friend stopped by in person and was told that the cafe would be short staffed the weekend we wanted the reservation for so the manager needs to see if there are enough people working before confirming. Okay....but why wouldn't you call back to tell me that? Our requested reservation is tomorrow and I still have not heard back from anyone. This is abysmal customer service. As mentioned, food was good but not good enough to treat potential customers like this. Hard pass from now on and will not go back or recommend. *Editing to respond to Victoria -- those were the dates I called and left voicemails.
