Every time I come to Wal mart I have to use a electric buggy cause my knee is messed up. First off if there are any buggies at the front they almost are all crappy they say 100% charged but then u take off and by the time you are at the frozen foods the battery says 15% and is barely running. This store is the most helpful walmart I have ever visited. A greeter named Marsha not only welcomed me into the store...but made it her personal job to see that I found what I needed. She did several things to help me and Anna and Randall both helped me get what I needed in the garden center. Everyone in that store will stop what they are working on to find something for you. Mediocre Walmart. Many items were out of stock. While no one was friendly, only one was rude. Deli had one person working walked off the line because she had other things to do and she was by herself. I get it, everyone is short handed. Definitely short on staff here but they do everything with a smile. Deli staff was overwhelmed but stated she was the only member on duty all week. The cashier also stated that people called out and she's worked so many hours that she's begging to get off. Store is clean, bathrooms are functional and the grocery area is organized. Popular Walmart + Program | This store is the cleanest, most organized, most stocked Walmart in the Asheville area. Easy to shop, and usually everything is there where it should be. The parking lot is clean and carts are put away. The problem is the self check-out line is too long, like there's a hurricane coming and everyone in town arrived at the same time to get stocked-up on bread and milk. I could wait 15-to-30 minutes at noon on a weekday. People are bending around turns and into the clothes section. You look at all these self-check out registers in the middle that are inactive and wonder what is the point of automation? For this reason, I think delivery is very popular in the area. read more

Hate this store but my daughter likes it. I dread having to go there to shop for my grandkids for Christmas. My daughter says it's the cheapest place around. They don't support health( recalls not being removed from the shelves) too many recalls on items, rude employees not willing to help, employee more than likely are rude because upper management treat them horrible. Safety issues on Black Fridays. There's a history of people being knocked down and stomped on, pushing, shoving, fighting, trying to get in the front door to get items on sale. Well I just think I talked myself out of going to Walmart. I'll pay extra somewhere else. Some place where the owners, management and employees treat you with respect and willing to help. I have lived from Maine to Florida. This is by far the worst Walmart I have ever been in. There are other Walmarts in the general area, one in Tennessee and more than one Asheville, and the contrast between those and this Walmart is remarkable. Even with a recent revamp, it has done nothing to improve the quality of this store. On any given day you can find empty shelves all over the store, with products that take months to restock. They are constantly running out of staple products, such as bread. The produce department often has rotting fruit and vegetables, often what they do have looks like seconds, i.e., rejects that no other store would sell. There is often a funky rot smell coming from the produce area. There is often stuff on the floor. Misplaced items are common. Price points are often wrong. Much of the merchandise is not faced. New food items are stocked over old items. The electronics area often has empty gondolas, stripped naked of phones. Pricing seems to lag behind other stores in the area, as if no one is shopping the competitors, or it is not being done enough. The staff is non-existent. They seem to be trying to run the store with less that the number of people needed to run it, and many that are there are usually grumpy if not rude. Those employees they do have seem to be in hiding. They are missing a huge opportunity to up-sell. The various departments are often void of personnel and finding a person to help you find a product is a real chore. When you do find them some are very helpful, and others act like you are bothering them and that they hate their job. I blame management. It seems as if whoever is managing this store has no pride and does not care about the store. It seems as if the staff is not properly trained. This store could be one of the shining jewels of the Walmart chain. It is in a location that gives it a huge advantage for there is little or no competition, (other than supermarkets). It seems to have a good customer base and serve a vital function in the community providing goods that can not be found elsewhere nearby. read more

The managers are dicks. I was working in the deli and both team lead are nothing but drama. They will be all nice to your face then talk shit about you behind your back. No matter what I done I was always treated like shit. I busted my ass at this place. I made sure to get my job done and all they wanna do is bitch. When I first started working this job I actually enjoyed it. Now I absolutely dread going into work. I hated working here. This Walmart has greatly improved over the past year. The parking lot is now kept clean, they've always had plenty of parking. Shelved are kept stocked and the produce department has upped their game. Plenty of organic produce for those who previously shopped at Earth Fare. Ok, I was desperate for a specific resume paper and couldn't wait for Office Depot to reopen. What a mistake to come here. Their website said they had it in aisle H27 or whatever, but apparently that doesn't mean they actually have it! Oye. The place looked like a hurricane hit, stuff was everywhere and very poorly stocked. It was impossible to find anyone who worked here, so I had to ask for help by the cashiers. AVOID this place at all costs!!!! SO much is wrong with this store I honestly don't know where to start. I guess I'll begin with my most recent 3 visits... yesterday I had my merchandise LITERALLY thrown into my cart and the cashier then proceeded to have a meltdown requiring 2 CSM's and a manger to intervene and send her to "that room" (I have no idea where or what that is but it wasn't a break room they took her off the floor into a room behind the customer service desk) the 2 visits prior to the one where my item was thrown consisted of me walking off at the register without making a purchase leaving the first time well over 100$ in merchandise and the second about 50-60$ worth sitting because the associates were so stoned or inept, a combination of the two and very poorly trained in company procedure, customer service, and common sense!!!! That's just my last three visits it does not count dozens of others. They are consistent however... consistent in some incident with an associate occurring in culmination with poor stocking and selection. So each trip is consistent with the fact no matter what I'm looking for grocery or general merchandise they never have it and what they do have is barely stocked or misplaced or there are associates with 2-3 pallets stocking and refuse to move out of the buying customers way... in these instances I have been scoffed, eyes rolled at, told to come back when they are done... essentially dear reader every action a human can perform that screams "go away you are annoying me because I hate life that much!" I travel a lot all over the country last year I traveled 80-85% of the year. I travel with 2 dogs and that amount of time away requires many stops in god knows where at a Walmart for supplies, necessities, food and drink, etc... I've visited hundreds of Walmart's across this country NEVER have I had a single instance at any other Walmart as I have consistently and frankly each one is worse than the last. So I'm not one of those WalMart haters I appreciate what Walmart brings to communities and the consumer EXCEPT the Weaverville WalMart from the most minor associate up to the highest level of management that thinks the running and operations of that store is in the slightest okay on any level to the poor stock/merchandise this location needs the doors shut to never open to the public again and the associates need to go work at a Walmart that lives up to the standards of the company OR a retail location that runs like a business not an insane asylum. read more

This is a clean, nicely stocked Walmart. I pretty much only go there at night time, but I can say that the night employees are very friendly and helpful. I shop here at least once every couple of weeks. I would buy local, but guess what? The local grocery stores seem to have a hard time keeping their shelves stocked....so I shop at Walmart. I live in Weaverville and I will not go to this store again. Tuesday. 4:30. Long lines at Self Serve. 2 other lines open. Got in line. Wonderful lady. I would say elderly with health problems. Somebody finally gave her something to drink after complaining for awhile about being thirsty. She needed several breaks after that. She thought her light had been off for 10 minutes and it was past her quitting time. She asked the lady behind me to close the chain...with at least 10 people in line. I'm a decent sized man and I wouldn't have closed that chain. Was this frail old woman to somehow close that chain so she could go home? I wanted the intercom because I believe I could have gotten her some help. After 45 minutes in this line and watching her struggle I finally got to the register. I talked casually to her and the other people in line. There is no way that everyone in all those lines were't agitated, but every one remained calm. She finally got me rung up. The poor lady had somehow accidentally messed up. My total was twice what it should have been. I asked for the manager but seeing how busy he looked and seeing the line behind me, I decided I couldn't take it any longer. I asked her to have the groceries returned. I said have a nice day. This Weaverville Walmart is a disgrace. We will no longer visit this store and, if Walmart is needed, will prefer to travel to the further downtown Asheville store. Employees without face mask or with it below their nose. No social distancing in the store. Three young men without masks next to us. On a busy Sunday morning, the lines are 7-10 persons deep (not enough checkout personnel). Oh, yeah, customers are allowed to walk with their holstered '45s scaring mothers and children. I heard the checkout girl being extraordinarily rude to a nice Hispanic couple with 2 young children. What's to like about this mismanaged store that Amazon, Publix, Ingles, etc can't replace? This Walmart surprised me the minute I walked in. First,the pop up wet wipes container was full and store floors looked clean and freshly polished. Drove over about 25 minutes as my previous nights research indicated that they had several items in stock that local Walmart's didn't have. An sales associate told me the exact aisle that I'd find the items. So happy to get items I mentioned it to another sales associate... he positively responded, " glad that we were able to make you happy today". A very pleasant experience here today. read more

Have tried for half an hour to get some one on the phone at this store. If you order an item on line and want to contact the pick up dept. personally, good luck with that. I tried 3 different departments, including customer service and no one would pick up the phone. The phone just rang and rang and rang. Very poor customer service here. Last week I spent an hour picking out clothes and needed to try them on before purchasing them. It was 9:30 pm and I asked 3 sales people for help and was finally told that the fitting rooms close at 10 pm, so I could not try them on. I moved to Weaverville a year ago from Colorado Springs where there were four different Walmarts that I would frequently shop at, depending on which one was closest to the errands I had to run at the time. I (like many others, I'm sure.. especially those who have previously lived in large cities) have been to a lot of different Walmarts and this one is the absolute worst by a long shot. I have never been so aggravated and disgusted by any store in my entire life. My biggest complaint about this store is that they are constantly out of items and you can expect them to stay out of stock for at least a month, if not longer. It is extremely frustrating to find specific items listed as "In Stock" or "Limited Stock" on their website and to get there and find nothing.. over, and over, and over. I stopped by every weekend for almost three straight months searching for a vacuum that I wanted, which was listed as "Limited Stock" the entire time, only for it to never be there. Likewise in the makeup department; Certain shades/colors will be out of stock for literally months at a time. For a handful of reasons, I do not and will not order online from Walmart, so it's either go to the actual store or go elsewhere. I will not use "Site-to-Store" shipping, either, until it allows me to pay when I get there to pick up the item. My second complaint is that the employees are treated horribly, and it shows. I have had employees vent to me and my boyfriend while bagging our purchases and it can, at times, be very uncomfortable. It also disgusted me greatly to see a very old woman working the 20 items or less line as a couple in front of me loaded her up with a huge cart full of items. My boyfriend chewed them out for it, and the cashier quietly thanked him after they were gone, stating that the employees aren't allowed to say anything when customers ignore the 20 item limit. Ridiculous. As old, and quite frankly frail, as this woman was, she should not be working a regular register and to not give her the power to enforce what the damn signs say is pathetic. It's either 20 items or less, or it's not. Grow a set of balls, management. There's also a slew of employees who are rude and can't be bothered to help. I've asked employees where to find certain items and they'll point in some random direction and then walk away. Really? In spite of that, I have had several encounters with employees who were extremely helpful and friendly, and they were wonderful. They deserve far better jobs than the ones they're given, and its unfortunate to think that they're probably not treated well. Lastly, the store is a disorganized mess. At times it's hard to discern whether an item is out of stock or if it's pushed behind other items or put in an unrelated spot away from it's price tag. The hair care isle today was a mess. If I finally found a shampoo, I couldn't find the corresponding conditioner to go with it. Items are literally thrown on the shelves, tipped over, and mixed up. I finally gave up trying to find what I wanted today because whenever I found a shampoo, the conditioner that went with it wouldn't be on the shelves or vice versa, and this happened multiple times. Everything is so far away from it's price tag since it's such a mess, that it's an uncomfortable experience to be standing in the aisle trying to find the price on the item in your hand while others are trying to find their own items too. This Walmart is just horrible. The Asheville one is better but not worth the drive for most things. I'll just continue going to Big Lots or CVS nearby, and getting my groceries at Ingles. read more

August 29 2016. This incident involving PAM the customer service manager and TJ a supervisor mgr. We went to customer service to return sewing machine. reason because it was already use and missing parts. But apparently the product we had did not match the barcode on box. So PAM was called over and look at us and said she wasn't going to authorize refund. Then she continued to run her mouth and was very loud and rude. I was quite embarrassing. So then a supervisor mgr named TJ can up. He did not speak to us at all. He got on his little Walmart machine and started doing research to locate product. Then he said we couldn't get a cash refund,even though we had our reciept. So we had no choice but to take gift card. Then he just walk away. No conversation. No apology.no thank you for your business. Now this is not our first incident with this location.. The customer service manager PAM ISalways rude. Has a very smart mouth. And never helps. This was very stressful to us because we spend about $200 to $600 a month at this store. I use to think I was a good customer. But this location needs work. read more

Like most people, I have shopped in numerous Wal-Marts throughout the country. This particular location is among the worst I have ever shopped in and try and avoid when possible. The reason? What others note...employees that (with a few exceptions) act like they hate their lives and customers are to blame. They frequently run out of items, sometimes the same day they're advertised. Often, store clerks are clueless about what is in stock, or even where to find items in their own stores. Yesterday, I went in and asked for a hand basket. The 'greeter' informed me that they had recently received 250 and "customers sold them all." That is rubbish. In the years since this store has been opened, there have never been more than a handful of baskets. I was informed by a former Wal-Mart employee that by corporate edict, only 9 baskets are provided each store, as they want people to push carts, resulting in more sales. To claim 250 baskets were "stolen", when getting out of that place is like leaving Fort Knox is ridiculous and untrue. So, poor selection, poor knowledge of stock by employees, negative attitudes and outright dishonesty can be expected. And too few cashier lines open, which is the norm. Plus they generate more trash and traffic tie-ups than an overturned train. A consistently bad experience. read more

This is absolutely the WORST Wal-Mart I've EVER been to... Extremely rude cashiers and really poor customer service.. Almost never anyone around to help.. You have to walk to the front of the store just to get help... The cat food prices were totally wrong.. I guess whoever did the pricing HAD to have been high when they did it... When I brought the incorrectness to the attention of the extremely rude cashier at self check she only stared at me blankly without saying a word like in a daze... Also they constantly run out of things.. Like BREAD.. Friskies dry cat food is usually EMPTY.. Like literally maybe one week out of the month they have it in the shelf. They always run out of great value brand toilet paper.. They really need to get it together.. Also their prices are rising almost daily on almost everything.. I do not even want to rate this store as a 1 star. The employees were so rude to me not 1, not 2 but 3 rude associates ...not to mention the 3 main store managers ...1 even hung up on me. It started when purchasing my items , the cashier handed my cash back and the TICKET TO GET OUT aka Receipt , fell to ground. As I went to get it off the floor a RUDE customer behind me hit me hard with her buggy w me bent down and my face hit the spin rack, mind you my phone wallet and stuff had yet to be put in my buggy AND YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE I was not finished at the register until loaded up. I do wear glasses and the metal prong had went thru my glasses jabbing my eye and hurting my face. NOT A SINGLE , Are you okay? Yet being yelled at by the one who hit me , THE CASHIER TOOK UP FOR HER not me AND SCREAMED YOU HAD TIME TO BE OUT OF THE WAY ? Are you serious?? All 3 managers I spoke with Bonnie TJ and main store manager JAMIE JONES... were severely RUDE ON PHONE and didnt see an issue? Now having to get my glasses fixed and go to ER with face pain , for this was also same eye from back in 09 The eye socket had been cracked. So now my left side of face hurts glasses damaged mind you they were from LENSCRAFTERS and not walmart. Very expensive and my time suffering and embarrassment of the rude people associated with this franchise. The manager has told me today that they have the highest ratings of all the wal marts in the area...I see they have a 1 star rating and many complaints. I do believe it's time for me to seek an attorney and follow through with legal actions. They made me out to be the one who was in the wrong after being injured and treated so poorly by the staff ...
