This Publix, on Federal Highway at 20th st in the 5th ave mall or whatever it's called, is clean, nicely lit, quiet, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I think this is the nicest one in Florida and worth the trip. I did notice that on Feb 1 as the snowbirds arrived, the price of everything seemed to be adjusted to $5.15 , but I think a lot of vendors manipulate the price in winter to take advantage of the captive audience. The bakery is a major problem at this Publix. First off, the bakery employees are rude. Secondly, I've ordered several specialty cakes from this location and they always miss the mark. Most recently I ordered an expensive 2 tier cake for a special occasion. Ordered the cake over 1.5 weeks before my event. When I picked the cake up, it looked nothing like what I ordered based off of the photos they provide on their website. I asked the bakery employee what happened and she just replied "oh we don't have those items here.". Why didn't they call me to let me know they wouldn't be able to provide me with the cake I selected off of their website? Her response was just, "oh well". Brought the issue to the store manager who did offer to discount the cake. Another time I asked they personalize one of their pre made birthday cakes with a name. The employee in the bakery did not speak a word of English and was unable to assist me. She was the only one working the bakery. So I was out of luck. Do better Publix! Ordered my deli sub ahead of time, pay online. I come in to the store at 3:45 and see someone else's order, but not mine. I end up waiting in line to be told that someone took my sandwich and now I'm standing here WAITING on my timed lunch break, for a sandwich that should have been ready to go! This is a nice well lit, roomy and clean Publix in Boca. I stopped in to get a protein bar and I loved the way their deli, bakery, prepared foods were all set up. They have beautiful fresh flowers for sale near the entrance and the staff that I passed by smiled and nodded, acknowledging the customer. The prepared food section looked really good and this would be an option for to-go meals in the future, as everything looked very fresh and nicely set up. Just a nice place to shop. read more

I liked this Publix. A lot. It is new. Fresh. Very wide aisles. Great lighting. And much greater selection in all departments than other Publix in the area. Fresh meats. Fresh Fish. Healthy looking produce. Huge selection of flowers to reveal stores like Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. Impressive wine department as to selection. Many on sale. Huge cheese department. Staff were all around, seemed to be happy working there. Genuine looking smiles and hellos. Deli department worker went out of her way to locate the kind of roasted turkey breast that wasn't in the cabinet but was found in the back. (She could have said "we don't have it" but she made the effort to find it.) While this isn't the closest Publix to where I live it may become my go-to Publix based on this experience. I'll leave that to my spouse, he's the decision-maker on this issue. Oh, maybe I'll be fortunate and run into Britt Z as she shops there a lot and appears to be the duchess. This is quite an impressive Publix. I could sense a difference as I glanced around the bakery dept. Lots of fresh baked breads, beautiful cakes in the case with chocolate dipped cannoli shells to be filled! The veggie area seemed "fresher" than our local store. As we were checking off our grocery list, we noticed an entire wall of "healthy snacks." They do not look familiar to us. Impressive! And, the collection of chocolates is endless! Everything is well organized, well stocked and clean! There appears to be more cashiers at checkout and 2 lanes for 10 items or less. Checkout was quick and courteous. This is definitely a more elevated store than ones we have frequented. Will definitely visit again! I feel special here! read more

Amazingly beautiful since they renovated this store. The management is new and they did a great job hand picking the staff. They have an in-house butcher to give you anything that you need or want in the meat department. The seafood department is super fresh and they will go out of their way to make you whatever you want to eat. Gorgeous salad bar is always clean and fresh. Priced at just $7.99 per pound, you can create the salad you want opposed to one that is pre-made. Quite a few different proteins are on the salad bar, so you can without a doubt make a healthy meal. Or unhealthy, just depending on what you throw in your salad. Opposite the salad bar is the Chinese Food bar. Also priced at $7.99 per pound, you can mix and match to your hearts content. The General Tso's Chicken is pretty good, and so is the Beef With Veggies. The Cheese Department is wonderful. They have a gourmet section with a large selection that includes pre-made snacks that are company worthy. The Wine Department is near the Cheese, so basically you can create a nice assortment of snacks if you are entertaining. Wine, cheese, fruit, nuts, olives from the Olive Bar and you have an awesome spread for your company. Fast and easy, not to mention delicious. I can go on and on, but this is a beautifully designed store. The isles are wide and there is no shortage of staff to help you find something. Ok we have used this Publix several times for our lunches. And I keep meaning to post. First of all Melissa is so great and so nice and she knows her stuff. I go see her when I need to place an order. I picked up lunch today and again it was perfect. Everything was fresh and as I asked for it. And the cake! I printed up a suggestion on what I was looking for and the cake Dept nailed it. And the last cake they made for me. Was amazing as well and the cake Dept did as I suggested that time too. This is a really cool Public. It's close to the beach and FAU so it carries items to cater to a younger clientele. Pretty good on the Organic's and Non- GMO products. This store is well designed and organized and provides a pleasing shopping experience. Situated right off of Federal and 20th, this store is easy access from many directions. We tried some samples and they even made suggestions and had us try other stuff! The people at the registers were super nice as well. I loved the experience and would make this my go to store. The floral department in this Publix is amazing! Not only were the flower arrangements breathtakingly beautiful, but the customer service from the florist AND store manager, Dan, went above and beyond. I ordered bulk flowers from Costco for my wedding and my Mother in law and I were so overwhelmed with the idea of making the arrangements ourselves! Piedri saved our butts! We dropped off the boxes of flowers and left it all in her hands. She was so helpful and friendly, even when we called to change a few things last min. When we picked up the flowers they truly surpassed my expectations! Not to mention the price was very reasonable! If I knew this publix had such an incredible floral department, I probably would have just ordered the flowers from them instead of Costco. (Even though the Costco bulk flowers are AMAZING). I love Colorado but the one thing it's missing (besides the beach) is Publix. If I could eat a Publix sub everyday while looking at the mountains, life truly would be amazing. But until that happens, I visit Publix every time I'm in Florida. I grew up going to this Publix location and was pleased to see that it has gone through a renovation recently. Even more exciting was that my fiancé was there and it was his first time at a Publix so it was a pretty important day in his life. This is an awesome new Publix. Huge, modern, easy to navigate, excellent lighting, attentive staff (as always). It reminds me a lot of the Publix in Coral Springs. It's also somewhat similar to the "Greenwise" Publix's in terms of all of the aforementioned; it just doesn't have a "Whole Foods like" section. It's also located in the Fifth Avenue Shopping Center, which is filled with a ton of other stores, restaurants, cafes, etc. Very convenient from many places. Went to this newly remodeled Publix at the 5th Avenue Shops this morning and though it was nice, it seemed pretty dark. They moved some of my "regular" items to a different area and though the layout is very similar to some of their other stores, where they stock some items is different. Additionally, as you walk in there was a security officer which immediately told me this is not a safe place. I have come to this Publix when before the renovation and do not recall any security issues so not sure for the reason for the security guard and a Boca Raton Police cruiser patrolling the parking lot. Hello, my name is Kate and I reside in Boca Raton, FL. I must admit that my feelings expressed below is long overdue, but that does not mean that it is not well deserved or that it has not been on my mind for quite some time. My parents instilled in me the philosophy of always giving a person, company or a business entity credit and commendation where and when it is due. My Mom and Dad would be pleased to know that I was writing this letter to fulfill their teaching to me over the years. It is important to note that I live five (5) minutes away from another store location from door to door, and I can be home in no time if I utilized the location that is closest in proximity to me. I choose to go the extra miles and extra time that it takes to shop at Publix at Fifth Avenue Shoppes, at 1968 NE Fifth Avenue in Boca Raton. It takes me roughly 15 minutes to get there, but it is well worth my trip and my gas money to go that extra mile or so. The reason for that? Store Manager Brian Jackson, his entire management team, not to mention the incredible employees at Fifth Avenue Shoppes -- they go the extra mile for ME as a customer every time I shop there. Being that I do not have it in my nature to push a store under a bus, I will not give away the name of the other location, instead allow me to write this in a positive tone about the store that I hold in high esteem. At Fifth Avenue Shoppes, I can say in total honesty that there is a smile at every turn and in every department. You can walk from department to department within the ENTIRE STORE and be greeted in a friendly and helpful manner. There is never a feeling that if you make a request of a department employee/manager something they will not be able to honor it. There are times when I have had special requests like to split a package of something in the bakery, produce, floral, or the meat department. The answer is always - across the board - "Yes Ma'am certainly, and how much would you like of it." OR "Are you still going to be shopping because we can hold it here, or we can come and find you, not a problem." There's never a hesitation or an eyeball rolling thing (oh trust me, I've experienced that at other locations, I am sorry to have to say that,) but NEVER at Fifth Avenue. Today I experienced a prime example of the family element and the sentiment of familiarity with Publix customers, just as George Jenkins would have wanted it. One of the employees who ordinarily works at the Front Desk, Lisa (last name withheld) found me in the store and stopped to talk to me. She was so congenial and very "sensitive" about the way she was about to phrase her next sentence, but she did it beautifully and with tact and finesse. "You know, I wasn't sure whether to say something or not, but I have not seen your Dad in here for quite some time. I knew you were probably taking care of him, but I didn't want to just blurt something out that was not right to say. "My father passed away last year in July," I know my emotions showed, but to have an employee reach out her arms to hug a person in condolence is so rare, unique and genuine. I thanked her very much and she stood and talked to me, if but for a few minutes to see how I was doing and how I was feeling. This is the "people" part of Publix that makes this company shine. How often would you find in another retail chain? I feel that I can answer that fairly easily. You wouldn't. What I experienced today is the "the human element" of this store, and the prevailing feeling that I get is that of "family." It is such a dominant vibe and you get to know everyone so well. It is quite the statement to be able to say 'This is MY PUBLIX!" George Jenkins would LOVE to know that a customer shares in that philosophy and the Publix experience. read more

This store goes above and beyond any Publix Supermarket I've been to in the past 30 years. This is s premier store. The store manager is Brian Jackson. He is in charge of everyone who works there and truly makes shopping a pleasure! Everyone is on point. They make sure you get top notch service. You feel special when shopping here. This store has items that other stores don't carry. Brian is hands on. It's nice to see his smiling face when walking in the door and are greeted by first name. I love this store. Why would anyone shop elsewhere? I haven't a clue. This store has a great floral department and makes great flower arrangements. They also have a cheese specialist who carries over 300 different kinds of cheese from all over the world. This store is incredibly amazing. We ordered sub sandwiches using the publix app which is a great feature to have for customers. The problem is that the pickup time for your order that the app provides is not accurate when you go to the store to get your order. I have used the app several times at this store and each time when I show up to get my order at the promised pickup time, my order is not ready. The last time they had not even started to make my order at the pickup time. Please fix your system so customers don't show up at the pickup time and the orders are not ready. read more

This Publix just reopened after a totally demolition and rebuild of the original store. I was blown away by how nice, clean and big it was. They have a great new salad and hot food bar and there were a plethora of free samples available. So much better than the old store that had stood for over 50 years! This is Publix at its best. Just recently had worst experience at this publix today and during these times when people are struggling with covid, bills etc. I got a couple items there and then realized when I got home was missing a couple of items and I searched everywhere so went back to the store brought my receipt and everything and they didn't want to help me because bagger said she bagged it and they looked on camera even though I don't think they did because I double checked my car, house went as far as checking my trash and still nothing and called to talk to manager to see if he could help me get items and no! Made me feel like I was lying and embarrassed. I always thought customers come first I guess I was wrong. I just can't get over the way they treated me and made me feel will not be going back to this publix again!!!! They have lost a customer at this location. As someone who shops daily at publix for my business, this publix lacks service and product. I had been shopping for years at the Hidden valley publix and loved it there. The employees knew my name, the management did as well (something I expect when I come in every day at the same time for years), but when they moved the managers around ,I no longer wanted to drive out of my way to hidden valley, so the 5th ave publix is the closest. I have now been shopping there for 3 years., The management has yet to learn my name...really, I am there every morning 6 days a week, and sometimes 2 times a day! they also are consistently out of something. Basic ingredients. And if you ask them to find it or call you, they make it seem like it is a big inconvenience. I miss my old Hidden Valley crew..I wish Publix would stop moving managers around so much.! read more
