This Publix is just OK. Staff is nice but often the lines are long and they don't open more registers. Honestly, my biggest gripe with this location is their pub subs. I order the exact same wrap at the newer Waterleigh location and it's 2x bigger and more accurate. I keep trying to give this location another chance, but they continue to disappoint. It's hard to pay the same price for the exact same thing down the road and get half the size. I also prefer that Waterleigh offers self-checkout, which this location does not. Truthfully I avoid this location now, if I can and go to Waterleigh unless I need to fill a prescription at the pharmacy. read more

Publix at Hamlin () I genuinely love Publix -- and this location is super solid. It's clean, well-organized, and has a friendly team that keeps things moving. Whether I'm grabbing a quick dinner or doing a bigger haul, I can usually get in and out in good time. The layout is easy to navigate, and I never feel like I'm wandering around looking for basics. The Pub Subs? Elite. You know it's true. Sometimes that's the entire reason I go. And the salad kits, fresh fruit, and deli section are always reliable -- great quality across the board. I also appreciate the BOGO deals when they hit on items I actually need -- it definitely helps balance out the fact that Publix pricing can be a bit higher than other spots like Walmart. But again, the quality shows. My one big gripe with this location is the lack of self-checkout. Sometimes I just want a quick trip in and out without the small talk, and this location doesn't make that as easy. Occasionally the checkout experience can be a little awkward when you're just trying to get home. Still, it's a very solid store and a place I come to often -- I just wish they'd add self-checkout to bring it into that 5-star territory. read more

Purchased about 1 lb. 4 oz. (20 oz.) of breaded cod pieces from the hot prepared food section at the Publix Deli. The price was $10.49/lb. so it cost $14.69 ($0.6556 oz.). I removed most of the breading (which easily came off) and ate the small amount that stuck to the fish. The removed breading weighed 8 oz. So, I estimate that the total amount of breading was about 9 oz. So I essentially paid $10 for breading. read more

Clean. Safe. Friendly staff. Every single time we go here the staff is incredibly attentive and helpful. The store is clean, feels very safe, and is well stocked. When I check out, the cashier always asks how my day is and genuinely seems interested in my answer and isn't just saying it as an empty pleasantry. Additionally, the last time we went in, the cashier took time to pull out the weekly ad just to see if there was a coupon for something that we were buying without us even asking her to do that. It was super nice and again, shows they care. Great job, Publix. read more

This Publix is located in Hamlin area. I love this Publix! But this is Publix, if you know Publix you know what to expect. Pub Subs! It is your typical grocery store plain and simple. But what I love about this location is the clean atmosphere and friendly staff. This Publix is always so bright and so clean. They always have yummy and delicious desserts, we can always find something! The deli is always busy but the wait is never crazy long. The seafood section always has some great options and the sushi! On Wednesday the sushi is only $5!! The meat section is really good and if you want something different they will make it for you. They never really have the meatloaf mix for example, but they have no problem putting one together for me. Again this is your typical grocery store but the people are what makes it fantastic. There is always someone around to help you with any questions or finding an item. If the checkout lines get too long, managers, team members, whoever, jump on the registers and help the lines. Publix does have an app as well, which I have been using more lately. They have digital coupons you can add to your account and when you checkout you type in your phone number and the coupon gets applied. You can also see the weekly specials (Hello BOGO) and you can even order your deli meat, subs and hot food ahead of time. I will always choose Publix over say Walmart which is right across the street. And this one is fantastic! read more

It's a Publix, not much to say. Clean restrooms, decent salad, bar, and olive bar. Clearance is a hidden gem, lunch time gets busy and there is a decent size eat-in area to enjoy that Publix sub I know your dying to eat now. read more

Originally tried to order a cake online but wanted to double check the ingredients bc we hadn't gotten the dulce de leche filling or the cream cheese frosting before. We ordered monster cakes and 48 cupcakes for a Valentine's Day party a couple months ago and it wasn't an issue to check the ingredients when I ordered those. As a mom of kids with severe allergies, ingredients are extremely important. I called Thursday afternoon and the person that helped me said she was covering and normally didn't work in the bakery and tried to find the info but couldn't. She advised me to come in on Friday to check with the manager and it would still be okay to order for Saturday. Stopped by Friday am and was directed to the bakery manager. I explained the situation to her and she explained cross contamination. I told her I understood that and it hasn't been a problem before with other cakes we've ordered from Publix but I wanted to check the specific ingredients of the dulce de leche filling and cream cheese frosting as we hadn't gotten them before and my daughter wanted them for her cake. She asked how bad of an allergy and I responded that it is an anaphylactic reaction. She told me she didn't think the cream cheese frosting had nuts and I asked her if she could double check it to verify 100%. She didn't check anything but told me they didn't have any of the dulce de leche in the store for her to check. I asked if there was somewhere else she could look so we could verify the ingredients bc I tried to find online but couldn't. She said no. I asked her when it was coming in bc the online ordering was allowing me to include it on the cake for tomorrow so would it be in with enough time to check before I needed the cake the next day? She said it would be in Saturday and I can't help you. I asked if there was anywhere else she could check, she asked one of the workers if they had any Dulce. The worker said no and Aimee walked back towards me and said "no", walked back into the bakery area, ending the conversation. I was shocked at being treated this way and immediately went to customer service because I couldn't believe I was at Publix and had that experience. I can only wonder if she treats customers that way, how is she treating fellow employees? I then spoke with Bailee who listened and said he would take care to address the issue and would help me if I still wanted to order the cake. I told him no, I can't order something without being sure of the ingredients and I don't even know if I'm going to be shopping at Publix again after being treated like that. I also shared that my online reviews have over 15 million views and I'll share my experience there too, and thanked him. Publix? Ok if you live anywhere in Florida chances are you have been to a Publix and may wonder why I'm reviewing our hometown grocery store. You can basically throw a rock anywhere in Orlando and hit a Publix. But this review is about *my* Publix, near my house. The thing with Publix is there is a big difference depending on which one you go to. At their worst, they can be older, dark and full of mostly pre-wrapped and pre-packaged food, including produce (I like to select my own fruits and veggies and don't like the plastic wrapped displays). Newer Publix's, like this one, are different. It is bright with wide aisles and a better selection of produce. The deli has Boars Head cold cuts, which for me, the daughter of a NY deli owner, is a huge deal. In fact I will choose a Publix sub any day over our other sandwich chains...(except of course Earl of Sandwich, because that Thanksgiving sandwich is the best). The cashiers are polite and will carry your bags out to your car if you like. There is always plenty of parking. And, if you are feeling it, you can always head across the parking lot to Abbott's for some custard :) So, I'm raving about this Publix... but why 4 stars and not 5? I wish it were a Whole Foods or Fresh Market. But as Publix goes, this one is as good as they come, and for a neighborhood grocery I'm pretty happy with that. For anyone staying near Disney, especially in the Flamingo Crossing area, this Publix is so much better than the ones on Irlo Bronson Highway, so just take 429 up a few exits and you'll do much better. read more

I've lived in the Hamlin area for about three years now, and this Publix has never disappointed. I went from one exceptional Publix (Lake Mary, Fl) to another exceptional Publix! The benefit that the Hamlin location has over any other Publix I've been to is how new it is. While nearly any Publix you go to will be clean and refreshing to visit, the Hamlin location puts it to a new level. Nothing is outdated here (unless you really care about self-checkout) and I've never seen it "dirty" (I don't even know if that is possible). The staff here is also on another level. They are attentive, helpful, and feel like real people. I know when I'm at work, I can go into "work mode" the workers at this Publix never seem to do that though! They always strike up conversation: asking you how your day has been, if you have any plans later, how a product you're buying is. I know that this is how many Publix's operate, but it just shows you why people choose Publix time and time again over other grocery chains. The weekly BOGOS here are also exceptional, and circumvent the common complaint that Publix is slightly pricey than the competition. I definitely don't disagree that it is pricey, but not by much. It's not like it's Whole Foods level. The individual bakery, seafood, meat, and deli department. are all kept clean and have EXTREMELY helpful employees. If you are ordering a birthday cake, you will be assisted. If you are trying to get a nice piece of salmon to impress your date, you will be assisted. If you want that perfect for you cut of steak, you will be assisted. If you want a chicken tenders quick bites, you will be assisted. Overall, there is really nothing bad I can say about this Publix. I am always able to find good quality food, fresh produce, and fresh bread when I go into Publix. The best part is that the prices are pretty competitive to other grocery stores in the area. My kids are very picky, so to be able to find fresh fruit, and good clean fresh broccoli is important. These are staples in their everyday meals. The deli is usually quick, and even when they aren't the associates are great about greeting every customer and letting them know they will be with them as quickly as they can. One thing that this Publix location might benefit from would be to have a cooler end cap that has freshly sliced deli meat like other stores in the are have. This would allow them to prep the stores most requested meats for people to grab and go. read more

Close to my friend's home, very nice to have it right down the street. Large, nicely formatted store with really helpful employees and a great produce section. The store is always neat, always sparkling clean. Their wine section is huge and comprehensive. The store felt large and airy, and everything was neatly laid out, It honestly felt like one of the stores from up north, in VA, called WEGMANS vs a typical Publix. This large, new, clean grocery store is located just off FL 429 at the New Independence Parkway Exit. Normally, people tend to shop at stores near home, but this location is nice enough to consider shopping here even if you don't consider it your local store. Assuming your commute (or regular driving pattern) takes you down Florida 429, you might want to checkout Hamlin Cove -- a lovely shopping center with several new restaurants, a fitness center and central Florida's nicest Publix store! Publix is noted for clean, well-lit, nicely merchandised stores with courteous, well-trained personnel, but there's something about this store that is extra special. read more

I LOVE this publix! I probably go here at least a couple times a week. Every cashier is super friendly as well as the ladies at the pharmacy. I've never had any issues with them being out of stock of something. I love that they carry a wide array of products that fit a lot of people's needs and allergies. I went to the grand opening and have been going ever since. I can't wait for more things to open up around it. It's right down the street from my house. It's a typical publix, but the design choices were poorly made. The way the aisles are on the right side of the store makes it difficult to quickly get from one aisle to another, making grocery shopping on a busy Sunday less efficient. On this day we also attempted to order a Publix sub. We found while waiting in line that 2/3 of the employees making sandwiches were not efficient in their work. When it was our turn to order, our person walked away for several minutes before telling us the meat we wanted wasn't sliced. I don't understand where she was for several minutes before letting us know, when there was a huge line for sandwiches. It seems a lot of the workers were taking longer because they did need to slice meat. Perhaps there should have been one worker just slicing meat and replacing meat for the popular sandwiches since this was busy lunch rush time. I don't think I would order from the deli at this Publix again. read more

Overall: Clean, fresh, and friendly location that seems more open and bigger. This will be my go-to place. Service: 5 stars: Was trying to locate an item (apparently had the "this dude doesn't do the normal grocery shopping and needs help look" and a stocker asked if I needed assistance. He wasn't sure and asked me to hold on while he asked another person. This person lead me (and stocker) to the right location. Always in bakery and staff always say hello and ask if I need assistance. Get the same type of service at deli. Cashiers always saying hello and being friendly. Environment: 5 stars- Maybe because it's a new store, but feel I have much more elbow room and can maneuver around better than the 535 Windemere location (plus less crowded for now). This review is ONLY based on the BAKERY of this Publix location. I used to love getting the carrot cakes from here, but not anymore. I think they got a new baker or something because the old cakes used to be so moist and delicious. Today I got a red velvet sliced cake and some guava cake bars. From the presentation alone I was drooling. The cakes looked delightful so I took a bite the second I came home. The second I released the fork from my mouth, I was in utter disbelief. The cake was so dry it felt as if I had just ingested sand. The guava desert cake was another crumbly mess. Please Publix change the baker and have better cakes!! read more

I was really excited when this Publox first opened, but since I have been repeatedly disappointed. The produce is often less withering, the shelves are out of stock of common items, and although this Publix is the biggest in the area, its selection is smaller. I frequently have to travel to other Publix stores that are smaller in order to find several items common to those stores. For example, this store has been out of mild Publix brand salsa for more than a month, and there's no peanut butter captain crunch. Very disappointing. read more

I would love to keep using a neighborhood pharmacy but this Publix pharmacy never, ever gets it right. If always being out of stock, long waits, nasty service and 5 times more expensive, the last straw for me was that today they gave me THE WRONG MEDICATION! There is some serious changes needed here. Great addition to the Horizons west area of Orange County...the store looks great open and spacious. The flowers when you come in greet you as well as the all the fresh fruits and vegetables.Bakery,deli counters all are nice and big.Wine area is just like others around here BUT they have CHILLED wine to go!! The international food aisle is awesome with lots of choices from around the world. There is also a section of healthy foods, vitamins ,essential oils just like Whole food has..welcome and looking forward to shopping weekly and making it a PLEASURE!! read more

i normally love going to this publix as it is one of the best and has the most nicest people ever, but today i went and had a problem with certain balloons that popped and had to go in to get some again since they popped right when i walked out. The nicest employee who blew them up for me again told me to go to customer service and explain so i could be good to just take my replacement on them, i made the line which took 10 min or more since there was only one cashier and even tho it was the lottery line, i was going to make the like like everyone else, when it was my turn another the employee whose name was Alina, took me instead of the first employee who was cashing people out prior to that and was extremely rude, didn't even listen to what i had to say and told me if i didn't have to pay for a lottery ticket then she couldn't take me, she told me she felt bad for having to take me while other customers where in the line with me after i had to wait myself in line, she told me to go with the other cashier who had now moved to the other side to take another customer and i had to wait 5 more minutes so the employee Aaron could take me, which he was very nice, and ACTUALLY let me explain to then her getting into the conversation and saying i could just go, so she not only was extremely and unnecessarily rude, didn't even take a second to listen to what i have to say, but she also made me wait more time to then tell me to just go. As someone who works in customer service myself, that was the worst customer service i've ever gotten. read more

Every time we come here the store is clean, the staff is friendly, and we are able to get in and out in a matter of no time at all. Pricing is reasonable too. My only complaint is that I wish the carried more kosher items like pre-made matzoh ball soup. read more

Extremely disappointing! After months and years waiting for this publix... at 7pm I went in to get two subs, after a ten minute wait for one person in front of me, I was finally able to order my identical subs... first off at my ordering of two publix Italians... I was informed the did not have the meat to do it, so my options where to take boars head or wait( I fail to understand how a business that sells subs would feel the need to time bully someone into a higher priced item that they didn't want) so I took the boars head... it still Took over 15 minutes to complete my order, I'm floored at the incompetence and price bullying, I know for sure I'm not the only one, at this point I don't believe it's the store but the brand and I am over it and will no longer spend any money or more preciously my time with publix, there are more service oriented companies that would greatly appreciate my business and every one that I will continue to share my stories with read more

Rave for the Publix in Hamlin! Was doing my shopping this morning and was looking for canned creamed corn and could not find any of the Publix brand so I asked a young man stocking the shelves it they had any, he quickly finished what he was doing and looked in the inventory app on his phone and told me that hey were out of Public creamed corn but they had Green Giant brand and he showed me where it was, excellent customer service, thanks Jared. Later as I was navigating my way from the eggs to the cash registers I heard a young girl (2-3 yrs old) that was upset because her Mom was carrying her and she was starting to get louder when another Publix employee walked down the aisle and gave the young girl a helium balloon, he did not have a nametag but it looked like he worked in the deli area. As I arrived at the checkout I was greeted by Priya (forgive me if I misspelled It)the cashier and she made small talk while she scanned my items, we talking about our plans for the day, when the bagger, Isabella joined in the conversation. It was a very pleasant visit and set an upbeat mood for the day. read more

Went to the deli/sub counter at the Publix in Hamlin Cove on multiple occasions and constantly get an attitude or staff who don't under how to make a sub. I asked for thin/shaved meat and the woman behind the counter rolled her eyes! I've also ordered a vegetarian sub (just veggies) and the woman who was making the sub kept the same gloves on from slicing someone else's meat and grabbed all the veggies with them now cross contaminating the veggies. When I told her that now my sub can't be considered vegetarian/vegan she argued saying "I don't see why not when there's no meat in the sub." She also continued to say that she didn't understand how touching meat then touching veggies would cross contaminate if the meat was precooked. ‍ i then complained to the manager that her staff was arguing with me about the sub and she just said ok with no emotion and couldn't care less!!!! This may not be a big deal to some people, however the employee should not argue with a customer And I should not have to explain why something is no longer considered vegetarian/vegan. She then said "I could never be a vegetarian because it's too complicated." Her coworker who was next to her making a sub for someone else told me that she was a vegan and would NEVER order a sub from Publix because she knows they double dip/cross contaminate with the sub toppings!!!! read more

They really need to get it together in their deli. They got my online order wrong two separate times. They gave me different bread, toasted when I didn't want toasted, hardly anything on it like they're rationing their vegetables, and random bits of vegetable that I didn't order. From now on whenever I want a public sub I will be going to a different publix. read more
