Their dubs are so much better than Subway. I used to be a fan of subway but no more. Bigger better subs at Publix in Crawfordville

No one loves to shop for groceries, but when you have to do it, it might as well be at a sparkling new Publix store! This one has everything we've grown to love about this upscale southeastern chain, meaning folks in this part of the panhandle will no longer have to drive into Tallahasee for there specialty food needs. Plenty of parking. Easy to get in and out of, even with an oversized vehicle. Great selection of meats, seafood, produce and groceries. Awesome deli filled with great food to eat here or take home. Friendly, helpful staff in all departments and at checkout. read more

Their Meat Department . . . If you like thin cut, sub quality, over priced steak, you're going to love this place. If you accustom to get thick cut, USDA prime, steak at the same price of Public's Meat department, your going to be pissed. read more

We're from Miami where Publix is a staple and one of the places I shop at. I thought this Publix was just as great as any one of the ones in my hometown. It was nearby to the place I rented while in town and I found everything we needed as a family. The format of the store was familiar to the one close to my home and it was great to be in a familiar setting. I look forward to coming back again. read more

All I can say is bless their hearts. I know they are trying but they have a long way to go. The first week they opened was great. I was so impressed with they way they were standing by and ready to assist everyone. And in general I will say the folks working the the checkout lanes do a great job. I think the produce department is kept clean and fresh. I like how the rest of the store is kept well stocked although this store does not carry many of the brands other Publix stores carry. The issues come in with the deli and bakery crew. There are a couple - and I do mean a couple people out of all of them who seem to be on top of their game. But the rest are all struggling. I've ordered individual sandwiches and platters and bakery items. I can cite issues with every single experience. I've had sandwiches that were made with lettuce that had so much water on it that it was literally mush by the time I opened it. I ordered platters of subs and wraps 4 days in advance and STILL had to wait an hour and a half to get it and when I did, the folks in the deli are going to give me an attitude when they hand it to me like I'm intruding on their day. I waited I. Line to order wings from the deli and was asked why I didn't just take a box from the warmer. I told the gentlemen the kind I wanted wasn't there and I wanted some hot ones. He rolled his eyes and said if he found the ones I want they would probably have been sitting there just as long! LOL - Way to give me that confidence in your food!!! Ordering cakes- I've ordered many cakes from Publix locations and have never experienced the attitude I get when I talk to the ladies in Crawfordville. What is up?? Why is this location so different? And I know the manager there because I e seen her at other locations- I am certain she would NOT be happy to hear the way these folks talk to customers. I think I've given this store many opportunities to get it right and I know I have other options so I will be taking my business elsewhere now. It only took 30 years for me to be truly harassed for my Type I Diabetes, & after Keir Major, the store manager for Publix Store#1798 in Crawfordville, Florida, did just that management told me "We will be handling this in-house". When asked if my shaking hand was indicating a low glucose level... KEIR MAJOR responded on my behalf with "he's fine". If you are a Disabled American, KEIR MAJOR & PUBLIX WILL minimize your disability. I'm a Type 1 Diabetic (while employed for Publix I was asked by an employee if my shaking hand was a sign of hypoglycemia, & the Store Manager interjected with "he's fine" before I could check it). This comment came on the heels of me reporting workplace safety concerns, failed customer service issues, & a case of harassment to Publix's "upper management". The Asst. Store Manager even called me into his office & "pussy-footed" around asking me not to take complaints directly to "upper management" while murmuring "I can't say that". That "workplace safety concern"... I worked in the Deli with heavy equipment, & an employee was found to be high on "spice" (similar to bath salts). He not only was seen talking to firewood, but a customer's complaint of him possibly harassing her sparked the initial "concern". Employees witnessed him in a "zombie-like state" leaning into the deep fryer to clean it. After Keir spoke up on my behalf in regard to the diabetes, I reported that to upper management, & the next time I worked I was made the assistant to the drug addict in the kitchen. read more
