I enjoyed my visits to this Pueblo Supermercado location, especially b/c of the huge selection of unique Puerto Rican snacks & products that I haven't seen anywhere else. It was fun browsing the aisles & discovering local treats to try during my trip. The deli section was my fave part w/ cold cuts available to order,freshly baked bread,cakes/cookies,& prepared salads.Unfortunately, the experience there was a bit disappointing. The employee helping me took quite a while,& my cold cuts I ordered were sliced all the way wrong. Other than that, the store was well-stocked, clean,& offered fairly decent prices. While the deli service could def use some improvement, I'd still recommend stopping by if you're looking to explore local Puerto Rican snacks & specialty items you won't easily find elsewhere. My AIRBNB was close by so I visited this location numerous times. I had a very disappointing experience at the customer service desk at Pueblo Ciudadela Santurce. I asked for a stamp in English. After assisting me, two employees began talking to each other about customers who speak English in Puerto Rico. They commented that if someone lives in Puerto Rico, they should speak Spanish, and questioned why people speak English if they already know Spanish. These remarks were made while I was standing there and appeared to be directed at me. I found their comments unprofessional, disrespectful, and inappropriate for customer service employees. Customers should feel welcome and treated with courtesy regardless of whether they choose to communicate in English or Spanish. Puerto Rico is a bilingual community, and no customer should feel judged or mocked for the language they use. I hope management addresses this issue and reminds employees to treat all customers with respect and professionalism. read more

This grocery store pretty much has everything you need, if you're staying 3+ nights in PR it'd be smart to stop here and load up the fridge, room with stuff you might need the next few days. We ended up coming here almost everyday during our PR trip. I love how convenient Pueblo Supermarket is in Isla Verde! This place literally has everything you could possibly need--from fresh groceries to everyday essentials--and the prices are very fair. Another plus is that they also sell wine and liquor, which makes it super convenient if you're staying nearby and don't want to make multiple stops. They have your typical grocery store offerings, sell liquor & beer. My favorite part? They have a hot food deli! The ladies are very nice. Definitely be prepared to brush off your Spanish for reading the menu and communicating. The lunch specials are $6.99 and change every day. I come here almost everytime I come to PR. Small grocery shopping( although you could totally do a big shop here) but mostly for the food. The Comidas Calientes, prepared food bar, everything is on point. Please get the Arroz de Pernil. That is my favorite. They do not have it everyday and it sells out quick. They have a place to sit down but this is probably better as take-out. Get some food before you g to the beach. Coffee is good, grilled sandwiches are great. This is kind of pricey for a grocery store but if you keep it small then have at it. read more

10/21/23: Very clean and well organized supermarket. I took an Uber from my hotel, to buy some toiletries and alcohol. They had a very nice selection of alcohol on the shelves, and more in a locked cabinet, towards the front of the store. Their prices were very reasonable, and I was able to purchase everything that I was looking for. read more

Pueblo was definitely a saving grace when it came to saving money from going out to eat every day/night while vacationing in San Juan a few months ago. With staying at a hotel that had a kitchen set where I could cook and had amenities of a refrigerator and microwave, it was definitely an added bonus to have a reputable grocery store close by where I can pick up some items for cooking and juices. Plus, you could purchase a good amount of bottles here as well :) Didn't have to spend too much either to get a decent amount of groceries for 4 days. If you are vacationing in San Juan, more so within the neighborhood of Carolina, definitely do yourself a service and go to Pueblo's to pick up some items so you won't have to overspend with going out everyday, especially if you're on a tight budget. read more

It is very organized and clean but more importantly close to the hotel I was staying at in Isla Verde. The prices are not too bad and the employees are super helpful. My recommendation is to go early because it stays pack. They offer warm foods as well if you want to pick up a meal and of course your beer and wine needs are also taken care of in here. read more

Whenever we are in Puerto Rico there are two things we always do:1) stay at Embassy Suites and 2) go to Pueblo supermarket. It's only a quick less than five minute walk from the hotel (outside of the main entrance turn right and keep walking beside the hotel, cross over the street on the left and keep walking. You will reach the parking lot and see the store on your left). This store is like your standard stateside supermarket. If you don't want to deal with the hassle of packing large liquid or aerosols for your trip, you can wait to arrive to purchase them here. They have beer, wine and liquor for sale. They also have a hot ready to eat buffet, which has really tasty items. When it was our turn to order, we thought they only spoke Spanish so we were literally pointing to everything we wanted, until one of the servers asked us if we wanted rice in English..... We got the turkey and bbq ribs with seasoned rice and it was good. I even got a fountain grape drink, which was sweet and good! Don't worry if you don't speak Spanish. Most workers are bilingual and pleasant. So if you are staying nearby, try them out. read more

A hidden jewel in touristland. Pueblo is a real supermarket only a block or two from the tourist wasteland on Isla Verde avenue. They have a good selection of fruits, vegetables, and everything else at reasonable prices, so you don't have to do your grocery shopping at Walgreens. They have an excellent liquor selection in case you want to buy a few bottles of rum for gifts. Prices are better than the nearby Mad Dog liquors or Walgreens. Note: Google maps is fried in this location. Off Ave. Isla Verde, go South on Cll. Diazway (the street between the Chili's and a commercial parking lot). Cll Diazway curves to the right as it approaches the highway and ends up in the Pueblo parking lot. read more

This is the Wal-Marts of Puerto Rico. They are open 24/7. Why would you go to a Walmart while on vacation? Well it was late night and we weren't partying, so we decided to check out their local food/snacks aisle. We found a lot of the candy/snacks that they sell at the airport for $5-10, were available here for $1-3. So we loaded up and tried a little of everything. The pina colada candy was the best and we were able to bring some to the US. You can find other various items that you might have ran out of in your travel bag or if you're in a bind come by and pick up the items you normally would get at your local Walmart in America. read more

When planning a trip to Puerto Rico I instantly get excited at the idea of going to Pueblo. Why? Their FARINA! The Farina (Cream of Wheat) is absolutely the best I have had and takes me back to the days when my grandmother would make it for me. Only complaint would be that although their breakfast officially ends at 10am, they run out much sooner! This supermarket was exactly what I was looking for to pick up stuff I missed for my vacation. This place has native PR items as well as American items. I was also able to grab some food to prepare myself since hotel dining can get pricey. The location is conveniently located a long the highway/ streets of Carolina. Easy to find and nearby other hotels. I didn't have a car and was easily able to find the place by walking. Pretty crowded but I was able to get through the line pretty quickly. We found this grocery store not too far away from San Juan on the way to Pinones. It's just your average local grocery store nothing special, but that was perfect. I had bought a 2-liter of Coke at the hotel market and paid $6 for it!! They had them at Pueblo for $.99!!! We stopped here and bought some snacks to keep in the hotel room... pop and cookies. My dad bought some delicious bread to have with his coffee in the morning and some huge mangos. While there we noticed that they have a hot prepared food corner so we decided to have an early dinner there. It was decent, but surprisingly lacked in flavor. It is what it is. An American Supermarket for wealthy tourist. It is well placed for those who find themselves short of wish for items and time but long on $$$. You have to have a discerning eye to find the local jems. They are there, just hidden by the multi national brands. It always feels odd buying apples in the Caribbean but that is what customers want. The store is impeccably clean, smells neutral (this is good) and is bright and well stocked. I didn't look at the meats but I would have a sharp eye on the date of cut if I was buying. Just a bit worried about turn over. South Florida reference - compares to a new Winn Dixie, older Publix but has a few items found in Fresh Market/ Whole Foods. read more

I give you five stars because the market is clean and tidy. The staff is friendly. However I really recommend to add air conditioner at wine area. The temperature in that area is definitely high, and it's really not good for storing wines. I bought 4 bottles red wine from different regions with different grapes, all of them taste not very well. This was the local grocery store to our hotel. Super convenient since they were open 24 hours. It was very organized and fully stocked and leveled. They carry liquor also. My friend was a little hung over so we found the hot food deli where he ordered hot soup to calm his stomach and followed it with pernil and rice. Im going to be tacky and complain about a grocery store. Wanted to make a steak cause my family was hungry turns out all the meat was rotten. I thought I found a good piece of steak and it turns out that they just turned the meat over. I also tried the rotisserie chicken and that was different colors too. Im sorry im from ny and even in the ghetto areas of the bronx the meats are fresh. The prices are decent but the food I got was not fresh.
