This project has just started today on Friday, but I was grateful for Israel's fast response to me…read morewhen I reached out about shingles being blown off my roof by the crazy winds today. I'd suspected the hail on Tuesday had damaged things, as there were a bunch of tabs coming off the roof. But today I lost 5-8 shingles and the wind hasn't blown itself out yet. My main worry has been keeping the inside dry, and there is rain predicted over the weekend. I did not want to have those problems! I had called a company four hours earlier in the day. That place still hasn't even acknowledged my call. Meanwhile, Israel responded within 10 minutes, and he and his crew have already been out here and temporarily fixed the spots that would leak. They found several places, even though I only knew about one large spot from the ground. He took photos of the damage and the work they did to prevent leaking, noticed some cracking of some windows, and gutter damage. I expect I will hire him to do the work that is clearly going to be needed. Anyway, many thanks to Israel for making it much easier to sleep this weekend while I wait for the insurance adjuster to get us scheduled in!

If I could give negative stars, I would. This "company" is a complete sham. They promised one thing…read moreand delivered another. We wanted to go with the underdog and help someone who was starting out a new business...big mistake. We completely finished our basement in Oak Park and before spending thousands of dollars on the remodel, it was crucial to add a sump pump and drain tiles to ensure no water would get into the house. We had four quotes and went with Matt and his team. We were told continually assured "You will not get anymore water in here." They finished the job and we had another team come in and finish the remodel. After our FIRST major rainfall, we had water coming in, soaking our carpet and running down the wall. After several calls, the owner finally picked up and said he could be there in 4 DAYS since he was busy. After arguing, he agreed to come the next day and fix it. The "fix" involved making a bigger mess and more water came in the next day. After arguing with me on over the phone, the owner said he would refund the money that we paid to have their company do the work (the only thing he did right). We have since figured out that his company NEVER put drain tiles along the North wall of our basement (He said he "snaked the pipes"). We have had to pull up the brand new tile, carpet, removed the stairs and open the walls, add drain tiles and now redo everything. We are out more money due to this company. They are unprofessional, rude and incompetent and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. Quite honestly, they should not be allowed to do this work, as they clearly are just trying to make a quick dollar.

He went to the Village of Oswego with me to help get the required permit. He and two of his workers completed the job. The 20'x12' patio looked great. His pricing was great too! I would recommend Laffey Concrete.

We contracted Travis Laffey with Laffey Concrete in February 2021 to begin a large patio, steps &…read moresidewalk project in our home in the Spring of 2021. It started well. We got 3 quotes and they were middle of the road on pricing and we did our due diligence and checked reviews...nothing amiss here. They came in and completed the job over a 3-4 week period (note: City of Joliet needed to inspect and that took about 2 weeks). All looked good until the FIRST winter of 2021/2022. We sent Travis pictures of the significant and numerous cracks that appeared in all areas of the patio and steps. He came out in the Spring and confirmed this was not right and under the 1 year warranty on his work he would "make it right". This required ripping up the patio & steps, hauling away the debris & starting again. We know spring is busy in his field, so gave the OK to wait until June or July. This is where the "promises" all fell apart. He kept pushing us off....gravel pit strike=no concrete (soon rectified strike), so June went by, July went by and then by the beginning of August he simply stopped replying to emails or returning phone calls from either my husband or I. He wouldn't answer his phone. We received a quote from another concrete contractor for 8K to tear out & redo the affected area. We never heard from him again. HIS WARRANTY IS WORTHLESS & BE VERY CONCERNED THAT HIS "WORD" MEANS NOTHING!! I had a friend contact him about getting a quote & he replied back the SAME day & could come out that weekend to give them a quote. He hadn't gone anywhere, but was unprofessional and wouldn't commit to rectifying the problem and making it right. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Don't be caught up in his personable demeanor. His word means nothing & his work is shoddy at best.
