Puerto gets 5 stars for many reasons but one if them is NOT because it's the best course in town. Often referred to by my friends and I as the ghetto 9. Puerto is devoid of the pretention that accompanies many courses. You wil see ALL types of folk here. If you're worried you won't fit in on the golf course thus place is for you. Simple 9 hole layed out just north of the airport has all the airplane noise one could want. It runs along low cost apartments on holes 6 and 7 and it's possible to see meth heads fighting on any given day. Don't worru they never seem to hop the fence. I especially enjoy the option of banking a ball off a city water tank! Night range during warm months and a friendly helpful staff. Love this place in part for the many memories I've had with friends over the years. (RIP Hardman) Purto del Sol will always be my main course in Albuquerque! read more

My first 9 holes of golf ever. Probably the best place I could have chosen for a first round since the course wasn't swamped and we didn't have anyone behind us and thus could take our time, track down stray balls and not have a bemused audience watching me slice ball after ball. My father golfs a bit and he was impressed by how well this course is, given that it's public. Also, the price points here are pretty damn reasonable, especially if you come at the right time of day. We arrived just before 1PM on a Saturday and an employeed suggested we wait a few moments to receive a special that essentially cut the price of 9-holes in half. In all, the golf cost around $25 for two. That's pretty damn reasonable. Also, a small bucket of balls is four bucks, medium seven, and large ten, so you can come here any day or night of the week and smack some balls around on the cheap. Finally, I noticed they had some good beers in the fridge, including Marble IPA and Pilsner, so I'll be sure to enjoy some of those next time. read more

Management is beyond rude and uncaring! I live right next to the course and we've had a moon roof broken, a window on our house broken and dozens of balls land in our yard, one only inches from where my children were playing. When I explained the situation the response I got was "so". Since it's a city course they aren't responsible, only if we know the golfer who took the shot. Ok, an all around terrible policy, but his attitude took it over the top. Not even an apology! When I asked "don't you think you should do something about this anyway before someone gets injured"? He said "well you can sue the city". I get the policy isn't the courses fault by, my god, what happened to human decency? read more

Great 9-hole course for a beginner. The course is not very hilly and the tree-lined fairways are wide and clear. I always schedule in advance and have never had to wait. They also have a women's association which I look forward to joining when my score gets down to the 65 range. read more

Showed up the other morning to try and walk on, twosome. Before we could even get the ask the question, we were told that there was no room until 2PM. Rude demeanor but whatever, we can hit the range. However the 0915 group at the tee was a twosome!! There was absolutely room for us. PLUS, the next group wasn't even announced or on the tee by the time we left at 0936. Very frustrating. With so many courses in town, I will not be going back to Puerto. read more

Best driving range in the city! Even lit at night during summer months!

My buddy and I were on travel for work and had a long wait before our flight, so we decided to go drive a few balls while we waited. We ended up going to Puerto Del Sol Golf Course, which is conveniently located just a mile or so from the Albuquerque Sunport. We get to the place to grab a bucket of balls and we are immediately welcomed in by John. Such a warm welcome and great demeanor! He even gave us some loaner clubs to use! Then we met Todd, who was extremely funny and sarcastic and even gave us a few tips on what to do, and what not to do. The course was great and relaxing, so it was perfect right before our flight back to LA. Todd even gave us a ride back to the airport after we were done! Highly recommend stopping by this place if you find yourself with a little extra time between flights, or even if you are a local looking for a nice relaxed and friendly environment to hit some golf balls! read more

By far the worst course I've ever played! Fairways brown and bare, played late and the twilight rate was $18 for only nine holes! I will give the guy behind the counter a thumbs up because he told me if I waited 5 minutes I could pay 18 instead of 28, so thank you, but I wouldn't pay 28 to play 18, let alone 9 at this course! read more
