The only reason I am not completely slamming this place is because the service was so good. We were warmly welcomed and seated promptly. Before we had even settled in we were presented with warm chips with a tasty bowl of salsa. Our waiter was very nice. The table next to ours was watching videos on a loud setting which I found very annoying. Then the food came. I'm actually wondering if the usual cook was off for the night. I live in a town that offers so many really good options for Mexican food. My husband's chimichanga was not a chimichanga. My chile relleno was stuffed with American cheese (?!?!). We decided not to order dessert because I couldn't handle any further heartbreak. We stopped here for lunch today. This is a really good Mexican restaurant in Scottsburg, IN. A quick jump off of I65 in southern Indiana. We ordered off of the lunch menu, but the rest of the menu had a lot items that I would have loved to have tried. The food was very flavorful with background notes that were quite unexpected. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Th place had a very nice looking bar. The margaritas were priced quite reasonably for what we saw being served. But still having a ways to drive they were not ordered at our table. Very busy on a Thursday night. We were greeted and seated right away. They took our drink order as we were being seated. Some of the group was not ready so the brought some drinks and took the other drink orders immediately. We ordered shortly after drinks had arrived. We received chips and sala and everyone at the table loved the salsa. Food was received quickly and everything was hot. I had a cheese enchilada and sauce was very tasty. Excellent Chicken tortilla soup, unfortunately poor service. I can honestly say I have yet to find a better tortilla soup than Puerto Vallarta. The disappointment was in the service - which I have never experienced here before. I stood at the host stand for 5-10 minutes prior to being greeted. They were tables all around that were open as well as employees which leads me to believe they weren't overly busy. I love this place, I am a simple person & always get the same thing but it's always delicious.

Was passing through town and went here because it was rated better than some others I looked up for lunch. The lemon on the rim of my water glass made me cringe. The chips were not the normal kind you get at other Mexican restaurants. In fact everything I had to eat and drink was subpar. After my entree was delivered to my table, no one checked in. After looking over to the servers for several minutes, I grab another server to ask for more salsa and a box. The food was a 4, the service a 2. Not sure what was going on, other tables seemed to be serviced by there server, my server was MIA. This was delicious. It was the best tasting steak I've had in years. Everything was very fresh and well prepared. The prices are affordable. I had my normal steak and cheese burrito with rice and beans also a chicken quesadilla. She had a seafood burrito. There were just 2 problems the amount of steak was not near enough. It was half what I'm used to getting in this type of burrito. Also the chicken quesadilla was loaded with chicken but had very little cheese it was filling but you buy these for the cheese. She thought the was good and all her seafood looked nice. I just wish my burrito had more filling. I would be willing to pay a little more to get full. This restaurant's food is disgusting and is not authentic Mexican food. I ordered a bean burrito with white queso sauce and seafood nachos. The beans in the burrito looked like they were unnecessarily liquified. The queso was gross and did not mix well with the beans. The seafood nachos had an unappealing sweet taste. The only real seafood that came with it was a few pieces of shrimp and most of the rest was artificial crab meat which is not listed in the ingredients. As a Mexican I am disappointed that this restaurant is promoting and offering its food as authentic Mexican cuisine. Next time I'm in this part of town I'll stick to the local country food restaurants. read more

Stopped on our way home from Florida at this lol Mexican restaurant and it was very cute inside very pretty done and the waiter was very service orientated my wife and I ordered Pablo's special which was grilled chicken and vegetables it cost about 11 bucks and it was terrific we didn't have a drink with it we had water because we wanted to hit the road again food was tasty it was too plentiful we both took some with and will have it for lunches great place if you're passing through it's the only place we could find in Scottsboro it has a four star and a deserves it read more
