Steak burrito. Maybe the best burrito ever.
    David G.

Man, I love Yelp. Taqueria Morales is a major reason why. I drive from Kentucky to Indiana several times a year. I often stop in Seymour for lunch. Without Yelp, I'd never know that Taqueria Morales even existed. It's hidden behind a Mexican Super Market a few miles off the interstate. You've got to seek it out. But your perseverance will be rewarded. My kids both got steak tacos. They were super fresh and seasoned, and the lime juice took the flavor over the top. But as great as they are, I've got to write about the burritos. The burritos are perhaps the best I've ever had. They are absolutely fantastic, and they're HUGE. We shared a steak burrito and spicy pork (pastor) burrito. They are tasty, unique, incredible gifts from the cook. I can't even tell you what makes them unique. I wasn't paying attention to what I was eating. I was enjoying it too much. You've got to get over here and try one. The sooner the better.

Seriously the best pollo tacos I have ever had. If your looking for fancy - don't come here. Looking for the best chicken tacos - come here. You feel like you are in Mexico City when you are here. Spanish TV on - behind a grocery store - how much more real can it be. Don't be scared

Doesn't look like much from the outside.... but it was the best burrito I've had since leaving Southern California. Polite employees. Quick service. Amazing food!

Amazing tacos. Go for the chorizo, cecina, al pastor or cabeza!

This place has truly excellent, authentic tacos. Do yourself a favor and bypass the steak and chicken and go right for some of the other meats. My husband and I have tried tacos with 6 different meats: CABEZA DE RES (Beef head), LENGUA DE RES (Beef Tongue), CHORIZO (Mexican Pork Sausage), CECINA (Mexican Beef Jerky) AZADA and AL PASTOR (Spiced Pork, which you can see on the spit behind the counter). All were excellent. The Cabeza is the texture and flakiness of a really fine pot roast. It was easily our favorite, but can be fatty. However, the flavor and texture of the Cecina strips was also outstanding, and the Lengua and Chorizo also had great flavor. We'll order 5 of these again and again and again (we'll pass on the Azada, which isn't as special as the other choices). We also had a chicken burrito since it was highly recommended by one of the other patrons when we walked in. Don't fall into the burrito trap. It does not showcase the true talents of the chefs here. Get the tacos and you will leave happy.

Food is good...prices are ridiculous! Three burritos one with beans and rice and an order of chorizo with cheese.

Some of the best Mexican/So American cuisine in Seymour. Smells great in the dinning room. Lovely staff, clean facilities and welcoming.

Pretty good mexican food. Taco's and burritos are solid. Carnitas is worth a try. Carne Asada is great.

My wife and I were in town for a soccer match (winners!) and needed a late lunch. Our normal go-to…read morespot in Seymour, Larrison's Diner, was closed because it was after 2:00 in the afternoon so we needed something new. Our first choice was a little fish sandwich shop that looked a bit different, but after they turned out to be closed that day we went across the street to San Marcos. And holy heck am I glad we did! It looks like a typical Mexican place inside - bright colors, decor from the same restaurant supply store every Mexican restaurant seems to use, but with the addition of what I would consider the 'nightclub section' with a dance floor, multiple lighting effects and a big video board. It was early afternoon, so obviously that area wasn't in use but I bet it's an interesting place after dark! Service was great - quick to the table, easy refills on everything. My wife ordered the Chimichanga and I went against my norms and did the 'create your own' platter and chose three items: Burrito, Chimi, and another Chimi. This was strategic because USUALLY when you see a 'create your own' that means tiny sized items - half a burrito, half a chimi, etc. - figured I wanted more chimi than burrito. Seems they don't do that here. My platter was HUGE. Full-sized beef burrito, delish. TWO full-sized beef chimichangas. Also delish. Plus beans and rice. I even did something I never do: Asked for a box to take an entire chimichanga home with us. Wife loved hers as well. This is a must-repeat. In fact, Larrison's may be the past and this place is my future the next time I'm in Seymour. Which is likely never, but if we are anywhere nearby, we'd make a side trip to eat here again.

If we lived in Seymour I'd be here weekly. To start, the chips were just made and the accompanying salsa had a delightfully different flavor. Together just perfect. I had the Shrimp Vera Cruz which was shrimp and sliced potatoes in a nicely spiced red sauce and served with a salad and rice. My wife ordered the Carnitas Street Tacos served with rice and refried beans. The carnitas were perfectly grilled. The taco shells were also so fresh. Our server was very attentive and friendly throughout our meal.

We sat for 25 minutes before our order was taken. We waited another 45 minutes for our food to arrive. The server (older gentleman with parted salt and pepper hair, chubby guy) simply slammed our plates on the table and left. The food was cold and had obviously died in the window (this allows for foodborne illnesses to populate). He didnt come back for quite some time. We were so hungry that we ate the cold and subpar food. Long after our plates sat on the table, he stopped by. I was polite and told him the food was cold. He then got mad and started blaming us. He told me that I should have made him aware, and he responded by telling me I didnt let him know. My response was "you didn't come back".....and wow did he get mad. He slammed the table and told me to talk to the cashier. Come to find out, the cashier is the female owner. She was very rude and refused to make things right while displaying zero integrity whatsoever, but offered us a discount on our next visit (isn't going to happen, they couldn't run my credit card fast enough and shove us out the door). The server was at the host stand and started talking smack about us (thinking we dont know Spanish). Once my wife stepped back in to the restaurant and looked at him, he shut up quickly. If you read reviews you will notice a trend. When things are great, they are great. When they drop the ball, they become combative and refuse to take ownership and accountability for their failures as an establishment. What a terrible way to represent the El Nopal brand. We will never be back. Save your money for a restaurant that displays passion on a consistent basis. If you want Mexican food, go to a different restaurant that upholds traditional Mexican values instead of completely disrespecting their own culture and values with their poor representation. The one good thing during our visit was the band. They were fun!
