I was going to let this slide but the more and more I look at my dog's ear, the harder it is to keep quiet. The groomer nicked my dog's ear and I understand accidents happen and I'm not upset with the groomer but the way this establishment handled the situation has to be called out. If they had just called me and explained and apologized, I would have completely understood. What they actually did was text me to pick up my dog and once I arrived to pick her up they had me pay and once I finished paying, that's when they informed me the groomer cut her ear. I asked if it was bad and they said it was a small cut. They then brought her out and and pointed out the cut. They didn't need to point it out, it was pretty obvious. Again, I understand accidents happen but I would have felt a heck of a lot better if they owned up to it and try to make it right and offer a discount or some kind of gesture to show they were sorry for the accident. I decided to bring my third dog, who doesn't have a very long or thick hair, for a wash and brush. We were very specific about how his hair DOES NOT grow back and he gets cold easily. I was shocked when we arrived to pick him up and they brought him out and he was completely shaved! They even went deeper into the back of his neck to cut out the mohawk he had since he was born! I was a little worried when I came in telling the staff that I do brush our pup once a week. They said he was matted so badly that they might not be able to brush/bathe him. I left feeling a little uneasy but they called to tell me a couple hours later that he was a good boy and quite easy to brush out (he was just dirty lol!) He's been rolling around in the dirt in our yard (we're getting it landscaped so it's literally a dirt haven)! Thankfully the dirt was so engrained that they thought it was matting and said once he got a bath it all washed out. He came home happy and foofier then ever! Oh, and smelling so sweet! Took my new rescue dog to puff & fluff after discovering they're just down the road and have great reviews. I'm all about a business that lets you book online. I needed to reschedule and simply sent an email requesting to do so - I got a response within minutes and got the reschedule taken care of! I wasn't sure how my Charlie (Lhasa apso Maltese mix) would do at the groomers but the gal at the front desk assured me they'd try to make sure he was at ease. I told her what I was looking to get done because his fur length wasn't bad, and she suggested a bath with light trimming on the face/paws. I received a text about 2 hours later that he was done. When I picked him up, she gave me detailed feedback on how he did (little squirmy, little nipping, but overall well) as well as advise me the groomer suggested an overall trim to even him out. That was fine by me. She brought him out and he looked great! Even put a little yellow bandana on him. I liked that I didn't see a bunch of dogs caged up scared, waiting on their groom and didn't hear any barking/crying/yelping. Needless to say, I'll be bringing my other older dog ellie in asap. I have been very satisfied with my Puff-and-Fluff experience. For starters, the name rolls off your tongue and implies luxury and pampering well beyond the typical groomer - they do not just bathe and cut, they bathe and cut and PUFF and FLUFF. Doesn't it make you think of a regal poodle? And, my dog always comes out so ... puffy and fluffy! I don't know what shampoo they use, but my dog smells good for days afterwards. And her fur is so soft. But now for the serious stuff - they really handle dogs well. My dog is not an easy dog to groom - she is an anxious rescue and will tremble with fear, think she is going to die, poop everywhere and maybe even snip. I have found groomers in the past that work well with her but then they leave the company. One thing I love about Puff and Fluff is that I don't feel dependent on a single groomer; multiple groomers have proved that they can handle my dog. I feel assured when I drop her off that she will be ok (and that the groomers will be okay as well). And, not only is she okay when I pick her up, she is gorgeously puffed and fluffed to perfection. Like other reviewers mentioned, they get you in quickly, the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is clean and cozy. I feel as though we found our "forever" groomers so they better not ever leave; I think it would be challenging to find something as reliably good as Puff and Fluff (and for sure they wouldn't have such a fun name). read more

NEVER AGAIN! I had been taking my older dog here for several years and the last time I took her, they "forgot" to trim up her bottom so she started having poop caught back there and it became impacted. I forgave them this one time. Then I took my new puppy in for his first ever puppy cut. They have you pay before you see your dog, or I never would have paid them. They told me my 3 lb dog was so aggressive he could not be groomed. They did bathe him which I would have gladly paid the fee for, but when they brought him out he was not trimmed at all!! They charged me for a full groom and did nothing. I had even included a tip - paying $68 for a bath is beyond ridiculous. I am furious and will never return with either of my dogs. For those who are looking for a new groomer, don't come here unless you prefer to be verbally abused by the receptionist and have your dog treated worse. I booked an appointment online as usual and received two separate email confirmations. Upon arrival I find out at the door on a faded handwritten banner located on the second floor that I have to call and check in. I understand the circumstances, but there was no communication in advance to prepare. If I knew I would not have booked midday. It was 100+ degrees out and my dog is deathly afraid of heights but I did my due diligence, followed the rules. I called to check in and she repeated the questions I did online, maybe to confirm? One question being her grooming style. I told her because last time they did her usual winter cut (not what I asked) I would like to show her a photo of the style to provide a visual aid. She told me to text it to the number I called. At this point my dog is shaking of terror, digging her claw into my back clearly in distressed while I am dripping in sweat trying to text this photo to her. When I told the receptionist my feedback, she brushed it off "well it is a pandemic." True, but it has been months to have figured out a decent system by now. It could have been a small line in my confirmation email(s) advising of a wait just like taking off their gear before going in. After I hand my dog to her I tried to show her the picture and to confirm she got it. As she is holding my dog, she can feels how scared she is and understands what I was trying to tell her. I put my phone way and let her know she can call both numbers but since I was working from home it would be a fast drive for me and she can call my number. It was a bit past 4 pm with no missed calls so I got worried. Right as I was about to call, my husband comes home so I asked if he was contacted. He said he had one random missed call but no voicemail. I called the missed call number from my phone and it's the groomers. Pretty sure it's her, sounded like her but even more mad at me. For being late? Angrily she answers and then tells me shes been trying to reach us. I told her I do not have any text messages, missed calls, or voicemails but my husband had a missed call that's why I called that number and I am now talking to you. She responded with, "well I called both numbers, left a voicemail and texts to your number. It is well beyond closing time can you pick up your dog?" I got there in less than 5 minutes. When I arrived it was indeed her with no friendly acknowledgement what so ever. She was however, really into the drawing she was working on. Looks like it took some which turned out nice but wasn't my dog. So, in my mind you have my dog and your best option was to draw? Does not continue to call or check the numbers for the dog owner. Let's continue- She goes inside to get the chip/payment reader BEFORE my dog. How am I supposed to tip if I do not know how she looks? I still tipped the normal 15%-20%. It's not the groomers fault that she is rude but it was the groomers fault on how she turned out. Wish I knew before I paid. Maybe she was the groomer? She goes in and comes back with my dog who is still shaking. I see multiple shaved patches on her side that is visibly shorter than the rest. Nothing matched the photo except for all the fur being buzzed off. Before I leave I asked what would have happened to my dog? Her response back was to shove her phone in my face to prove a point that she texted me and that I was wrong! This was the moment I realized that she was wrong. I told her I noticed that the last 4 digits of the phone number was incorrect as that was not what I gave her. Additionally that if this is her only means of communication she should have reconfirmed the whole phone number just like the questions. I don't get it? I called you at the door, at my appointment time, and sent you the photo? Well if my dog looks like this and you could not get hold of me, then I guess this all makes sense. I try to leave and she stop me. Not to apologize but to have the last word and to belittle the customer further saying I was disrespectful. I was assertive to someone who was insistent on telling me I was wrong when I was not and she did not acknowledge she was wrong. You did not only stop me in the same spot where all of this began but yet again just to to have the last say? She was clearly not happy so I apologized for any tone, behavior, and for anything towards her. I even thanked her for working during this time. When I told her all she needed to do was apologize, she said for what? The fact that she felt she was right when she was not and then proceeded to berate me affirms I do not want to go back. No one should be treated this way and then have to pay for it! read more

The staff were incredibly sweet and personable, the place itself was immaculate (and cutely decorated!), and it was the most stress-free grooming atmosphere I have ever seen. Most importantly -- at least for me -- their prices are reasonable. As much as I love to support local businesses, their prices are usually very high, forcing me to take my business to chains like Petsmart. However, Puff & Fluff was just a few dollars more, and for a cleaner, friendlier atmosphere, it was well worth it. I'll definitely be taking my kitties to Puff & Fluff from now on. read more

She was super rude and did not even turn to speak to me until i said too. I get they are busy but be professional! It's not that hard to be kind. Was my first time bringing my dogs to this place and I had high hopes because it was so nice inside, but for the price I paid my dog's groom ($100 for a medium size dog groom and a large dog bathe/medicated shampoo soak) there are a lot of inconsistencies (clumps of longer hair in his armpit, hocks, and one streak on his back, his eyebrows are uneven, etc.) I also specifically asked them to take care of his dew claws because one was very long and curving back almost to his pad and I was told they always check the dew claws as well. They use a file not a clipper on the nails because they did get the claw, but did not get the tip off so his claw is still near his pad. I'll be calling his vet to take care of it now. I'm not super particular on how he looks so I don't plan on asking for them to clean it up but I won't be going back. read more

I have taken my cat, Olivia, to the 16th street location (Uptown) on numerous occasions for bathing and to have her hair cut. She is a long haired kitty who does not like her long hair. Go figure. I have had such a pleasurable experience with the folks at the 16th st location and Olivia would come home completely at ease to 'strut her stuff' for the others in the household to admire. Today, upon getting the call from the Arcadia location, that Olivia was ready, they informed me that she had not been bathed as she was terrified of the tub. I was more than surprised but dismissed this except to ask that they at least blow the cut hair off of her body. With their COVID-19 rules, you cannot even see your little loved ones before making payment. I left a 20% tip as usual as the previous jobs at the Uptown location have been so great. When I picked up Olivia, the young woman said Olivia wouldn't allow them to blow her back end/tail off. I found that to be even more interesting. When I got Olivia home, instead of 'strutting her stuff' as usual, she ran immediately under the bed where she stayed for nearly an hour. When she finally came out, she looked terrible. Her cut was so pathetic compared to her previous cuts and in addition, the uncut 'bob' of her tail was a tangled mess. I was shocked. She also would not let me near her. This is my baby girl who can never get enough of her 'Daddy'. I was crushed to know that she had obviously been traumatized to the point that she was angry with me. Now that the Uptown location no longer grooms cats, I will stay as far away for Puff and Fluff as I can get. If you care about your feline family as much as I do, NEVER take your loved one to Puff and Fluff. Heaven only knows what trauma my poor little girl went through with these people. And congratulations to them for ripping me off of the additional 20% tip for traumatizing my poor little one. I have read positive review from other feline owners. I call horse poop on those. My Olivia was obviously treated horribly and her results were atrocious. As with people, cats can have 'off' days as well and maybe Olivia wasn't in the frame of mind to be at a groomers. A very sad and disappointing morning at the puff and fluff. I've brought my two beloved dachshunds here for years and I've never had any real issues. This morning, we brought our third, the old man. We gave specific instructions about how his hair is thin, that we didn't want his hair cut, just cleaned up, washed and brushed. He had never been groomed before because of his thin hair and he gets cold. We were called that they were ready and were not told there was a problem. We showed up and poor Oscar had been shaved. Not trimmed, not groomed but shaved. His beautiful, life long mohawk is gone. It's worth mentioning that I always mention my other dogs' back trouble and to be careful with him. If they can't get the instructions even close about the hair, are they taking appropriate care of my best friends? I am amazed in Arcadia that a dog salon can be so callous. I moved around the area a few weeks ago and was looking for a new groomer. I saw this place while I was at safewag and figured I'd give it a try since my regular groomer is a bit of a drive away. They did a wonderful job and she came out looking good, but I just didn't get the same vibes from my old place. Later that day I figured it out my dog was more excited to leave than to see me and that is something that hasn't happened before. In addition, I feel like it was lacking that special touch that made the place different or somewhere I'd want to take my dog to again. They're a bit more expensive as well but don't put bows or a cute bandana like other groomers do. They did do a nice job and I am happy with her cut, the lady seemed nice enough though a bit rude in a way I can't lay my finger on and I had to pay before I could even see my dog which I was not particularly pleased about.
