The Puget Sound Strings performed the music for my wedding ceremony as well as during the cocktail hour that followed. They were a pleasure to work with and performed beautifully. They make the timing of every song seamless, which in turn made the processional, recessional, etc. stress-free for everyone in the wedding party. They have a great repertoire of songs and also are willing to do custom songs for a very reasonable fee (fee based on complexity). Definitely recommend! P.s. We hired Puget Sound Strings to play a private event in our backyard for 30 friends this summer. Despite horrible traffic that day, the musicians arrived promptly and in great spirits. However, as most of our friends were delayed, the quartet was very flexible and gave us extra time to accommodate them. We designed a more interactive experience for our friends, and the musicians were delightful, entertaining, and "read the room" very well in regards to the music selection. Puget Sound Strings provided a string trio for my husband and I's wedding ceremony and cocktail hour in July 2019. I regret it's taken me so long to write this review! The string trio was simply, AMAZING. They truly made our wedding ceremony unique and helped bring our vision into reality. My guests were raving about that portion of our ceremony and cocktail hour - they were so impressed and enjoyed the music! It was Rebecca who we communicated mostly with through email prior to the wedding day. Let me just say, she made the communication and booking process so easy. Their repertoire was definitely impressive and we had a lot to chose of pieces to from. There were 3 specific songs we wanted for our ceremony (Bittersweet Symphony, Here Comes the Sun, & Stand by Me) and I was thrilled to find out they were able to play for us! I also want to thank Rebecca for helping us decide on a song for our bridal party to walk out to after the ceremony. We wanted something a little more upbeat, but still elegant at the same time. She helped us decide on Viva La Vida - the PERFECT ending! Overall, we were so happy with our decision to have Puget Sound Strings play at our wedding. Puget Sound Strings provided a string quartet for my son's wedding at Edgewater House in Olalla, WA, in June 29, and the quartet raised the level of the entire event. The musicians were professionals who played with great depth and beauty. During and after the event, many guests commented about how stunning the music was and said the quality was well beyond the 'usual' string quartets they had heard at other weddings over the years. It was also notable that the quartet felt like a cohesive group, not like four classical musicians who just happened to be assigned to this wedding and might not have worked closely together before. We knew we wanted to have a live performance for our wedding and the group from Puget Sound Strings was terrific on every count. Working with Mitchell before the wedding, he was happy to help arrange several pieces that were particularly special for my bride and I, and he was very quick to respond to questions. On the big day, all of the musicians in the quartet were very friendly and on such a busy day were able to get situated and ready to play without a whole lot of direction since I was running around to get all the last little details ready. Throughout the whole evening people mentioned how great it was to have live music for the ceremony. The selection of wedding 'classics,' plus a lot of music from movie soundtracks and other contemporary music made it for a fun and personalized event that was unique to us and the music that we like to listen to at home or at a concert. To pick our playlist we just looked through the rather extensive list on the website and found the perfect mix of music that we both loved. I was pretty stressed that day so I didn't just sit and listen to them play much, but everyone commented on how wonderfully they sounded, and I can say that it was very special to me to have my bride walk down the aisle to live music, not just a recording. We had Puget Sound Strings play music for our wedding ceremony. The process of coordinating was seamless and they were very professional when they showed up to the venue, during the performance, and upon leaving. They seemed so excited and happy for us and waved to us as they left, since we were unable to speak with them due to everything else going on. I wish we had more time to spend enjoying their beautiful music, but I know our guests loved the music and their performance truly made our ceremony a memorable experience. Competitive rates, top rate professionalism, amazing talent - couldn't have asked for a better quartet! We asked them to play covers of pop songs and TV/movie themes for cocktail hour, and although we were too busy wandering around to catch most of it, the snippets we heard were exactly what we were hoping for. Plus, we had guests coming up to us saying what a great choice of quartet we'd made. We also had them kick off a special transition from cocktail hour to dinner, and they nailed it. So glad we found Puget Sound Strings and had them play at our church ceremony and wedding reception. The quartet really added a nice and elegant touch to the event. We had them play classical songs for the ceremony and more modern songs like the Game of Thrones theme song for our reception to cheers from the guests. They had a great selection of songs to choose from and allowed requests to compose a couple of songs not on their list. We had a string quartet from Puget sound strings play for our wedding in August. Leading up to the day, they were professional and communicative in understanding what we wanted for the day. The day turned out to be rainy, but was not a problem. They were well prepared and played seamlessly. Our friends, family (and classically trained musician husband) loved that they were skilled at playing a range of music, and we enjoyed the wide selection the selection ( classical, jazz and modern.) We especially liked that their renditions of pop songs sounded full and elegant but fun enough that our friends gathered around to listen for a number of these (included city of stars and game of thrones). I contacted Puget Sound Strings on September 15th to play for my wedding ceremony on Sunday, November 1st 2015. Mitchell got back to me the same day. He is incredibly easy and fun to work with. Going through the PSS repertoire, and working on the ceremony music worksheet was one of my favorite wedding tasks. Day of they were punctual, and when our ceremony start was delayed because the bouquets were left at home, they continued to play for 15 minutes without missing a beat! I can't even imagine the words to really say how wonderful the experience was with this group! Easy to work with, professional in every way, showed up when expected and most important of all, they are absolutely wonderful musicians. My daughter, the bride, is also a musician and found their playing sublime. They even arranged special music at my daughter's request and not only wrote a gorgeous arrangement of the orchestral piece that she wanted, but played it beautifully.
