We are at the tail end of a partial basement remodel and our contractor discovered black mold under existing carpet tiles in the area that is not getting remodeled. A couple years ago I reached out to Puget Sound Water Rescue for an issue. I was very satisfied with the service from that experience. So, when my portable AC leaked onto my flooring last night, I knew who I was going to contact. I called when they opened, and found out that he was booked for the next week. I decided to send him a message to see if there was a company he would recommend to me. He actually responded immediately and said that he'd be able to squeeze me in! You have no idea how grateful I was to hear that. He gave me two time options, and called me when he was on the way. I had no idea how much water had made its way into my flooring, so I was preparing myself for the worst. Turns out, it didn't end up being a catastrophe! Matthew used a thermal camera, and a moisture meter to inspect for moisture on the floor/subfloor and flex ducting. Once again, he was thorough at his job, and in his communication. Matthew must be one of the most honest people in this business. I asked him to assess a situation where we had a toilet overflow that leaked onto the lower floor. He did not try to upsell and seemed very transparent in his assessment. A few other water companies had pressured us to start an insurance claim there and then, saying the work would be more than our $5k deductible. Matthew told us that the water was very small and could be dried out with some DIY strategies. He then also looked at another issue we had and provided honest unbiased information about plumbers and contractors. He also provided a lot of small tips to prevent moisture and leaks in the future. I am so glad we contacted Mathew for mold remediation in our basement. We had a few companies come out to give us bids and PSWR was, by far, the company we wanted to work with most. Mathew thought carefully about how to fully address the mold in the unique and potentially hard to access basement spaces. I had a water stain in the hardwood floor next to refrigerator. I called Puget Sound Water Rescue and set up an appointment. Matthew showed up on time. He checked the moisture around the area, as well as in the crawlspace. He answered my questions patiently, and provided a couple of options I could choose. I followed his advice and got a flooring company to take off the damaged hardwood floor pieces. It turned out the damage was only in the surface and I don't need any other repair other than replacing the hardwood floor pieces. I'm so so thankful for this company! We found out Thursday that our main drain pipe under our master bathroom was cracked and leaking waste water into our crawl space and making our bathroom smell so bad it was unusable. I started making phone calls to figure out how to get the sewage cleaned up out of our tight crawl space and got really high estimates. One company sent out a guy to do a bid that couldn't even get into the crawl space and wasn't prepare to do so! Over the weekend I got on Yelp to get more estimates and reached out to Puget Sounds water Rescue- they got back to me first thing Monday morning and sent out 2 guys this morning(Tuesday) to take a look and get me an estimate on the spot. The bid came in way less then the other "ball park" estimates I had been give and they were ready to do the work right away. The workers were clear, kind, took clear photos of the damage to show me what was going on taped up the open heat vent that was disconnected. Everything smells 100xs better already and now my husband (a general contractor) can safely replace the leaky pipe. We noticed a water leak mark in our ceiling and needed someone to come out to look at it before it got worse. Due to COVID-19, called a few other places but they couldn't come out fast enough--called Puget Sound Water Rescue and they came the next day (we did not have a bursting pipe so I was good with that). Matthew arrived with gloves and a full mask, which we appreciated. He had a water detector that reads moisture levels in walls and under tile floors--plus an infrared camera--and was able to show us exactly what was going on (we loved that we could actually see it). After chatting with our insurance company, we decided to pay out-of-pocket, and Matthew was extremely gracious about reducing the scope of the work, so that it would fit within our budget. Had a small leak in the pipeline connecting the water heater in my house in Renton and after the plumbers fixed the leak, they suggested me to find a water damage restoration person to look at it to assess the damage. I yelped around and chose this company as it was top rated. Matthew responded quickly to my request over yelp and we spoke over phone. He said he would need to visit the place to give a quote and there is $100 charge for visiting. I was hesitant to pay that just for the consultation and pushed back but he defended well and convinced me. He came promptly and did a very thorough examination and assessment of the damage. He gave a quote and I asked him for a revised out-of-pocket quote as it was less than my deductions. He was able to get it done for half the initial quote. The initial consultation was included in the final price and I was so happy at the end that I decided to proceed ahead with him. More than being considerate in the pricing, it was clear that he didn't compromise anything on the quality. On the contrary, he did a great job in making sure the carpets that he had to tear open didn't stick around loosely after being put back and the corner of the drywall he cut open was curved and he made sure to not damage that curve as he estimated replacing it would be costly and difficult to get the same curvature. He also went above and beyond and gave me helpful tips on cheap tools one can get to identify a leak ahead of time so that the damage can be contained quickly. His demeanor in general, his attitude, his empathy and child-like sharing of his experiences made me feel as if I am getting this job done by a long known friend of mine. We had Mathew handle cleanup after a blockage in our sewer line popped a cap in our basement and spewed sewage over a section of our (unfinished) basement, and I can't recommend him enough. He was fast to respond, very knowledgeable, excited to share information with us including helpful tips for navigating insurance and any similar experiences we may have in the future, and very thorough. We called him for an initial inspection and quote. He was prompt to the time he arranged, and did a thorough inspection, providing us a quote on the spot after doing an estimate of the work that would need to be done. He offered to come back later if we wanted other quotes, but since we liked him, had read positive reviews, and the quote was reasonable, we told him we would go with him--and he was able to start work right away! He and his employee cleaned up the mess, got under the floor to clean water that had gotten under it, replaced the vapor barrier, sprayed an eco-friendly solution on the whole area, and even hand cleaned our plastic storage boxes that had gotten wet. He discussed using flood stops to prevent water damage from appliances as a future-proofing method against other common water damage when he learned we were new homeowners (we actually already have flood stops on most of our appliances--it was fun to compare brands with him!).
