For the atmosphere, they advertise a beautiful room and then they stuck us in auxiliary seating in a conference room with boring walls and poor atmosphere. Attended a luncheon here. Such a great place. The manager told us about the history, and a few ghosts stories. On our own we were allowed to walk around and go upstairs. We did that after eating. Our group brought the table centerpieces and cake. Meals were a chicken dish and fish dish which looked nice. The pasta was tossed in olive oil with herbs. Was plain for the price. Tomatoes and olives in it would have been more appealing. Meals came with a nice salad and good rolls. We sat in the round room with windows and a lake view. Parking lot is large. Title: Deeply Disappointed -- Safety and Service Concerns at Punderson State Park I recently stayed at Punderson State Park for 7 nights seeking a peaceful getaway as a veteran, but the experience was extremely distressing. On my first night, my truck tire was slashed. Shortly after, I discovered that items had been stolen from my tent, and the following day, my rear tire and spare were also slashed. These incidents made me feel unsafe throughout my stay. Unfortunately, the service at the lodge only added to the disappointment. During one visit to the lodge restaurant, the hostess ignored me while using her phone and only approached after another staff member prompted her. The overall hospitality and attention to guests' needs were well below expectations. I came to Punderson hoping for rest and peace in nature, but this was the worst vacation experience I've ever had. I strongly urge management to improve security, guest safety, and staff professionalism immediately. Until those issues are addressed, I cannot in good conscience recommend this location to other travelers. Here is a tip: If you're planning to camp or stay at Punderson State Park, secure your vehicle and belongings carefully -- especially overnight. During my week-long stay, my vehicle tires were slashed and personal items were stolen from my tent. The park is beautiful, but security presence is minimal, and response from staff was disappointing. Bring locking storage for valuables, park in well-lit areas, and document any incidents immediately with local authorities and park management. read more

We went for lunch but they weren't open, but we peaked it and it was soooo beautiful inside and around the area we are def going to try to come back when their restaurant is open, call ahead to find out if open because online it says they are open for lunch, we aren't sorry we drove there though as it's a beautiful place and we got to see lots of wildlife on our way out. I def would consider a romantic getaway here . It was decorated sooooo beautiful for Christmas inside also! We went hiking and foraging for mushrooms at Punderson and stopped at the lodge for lunch. It's beautiful, and I highly recommend visiting. We stayed there one Halloween weekend because it's supposedly haunted and had a blast because the lodgers were a blast. But, back to a few weeks ago, yes, you can forage for mushrooms, but you can't everywhere, so grab your guides and brush up on your culinary skills; we found some fantastic and delicious mushrooms and rare ones, too! After working up an appetite, we went into the lodg and sat down for a lovely brunch. My spouse ordered a hamburger and salad. He said it was tasty. I ordered a cup of lobster bisque and a Fiesta Salad with Blackened Chicken and Avacado. Everything was well tasty and well prepared. In a few weeks, we may go back and rent canoes. It's just another lovely place to visit and picnic if you like in Ohio. read more

Found this place in an article online so thought we'd give it a try. We are a family of 4 and yes the place looks cute from the outside but it's pretty run down and in desperate need of some updating. We stayed in a cabin because I read the lodge was gross. The cabins are ok - Very basic amenities but with peeling paint, blinds that have tears or missing pieces, furniture in sort of gross condition and it smells pretty musty. The restaurant had a very small menu and the food was pretty regular - eat n park has better food to be honest. We came in the fall so the views and lake boardwalk are beautiful. Seems like the outdoor pool would be nice because it faces the lake and the indoor pool was very nice since it also faces the lake and has lots of windows. If you're ok with an older run down place, book here. If not, definitely go elsewhere. read more

If I could I would leave no stars. Dirty and dated lodge. Swimming pools was super gross with blonde balls of hairs floating everywhere. The restrooms were filthy and grime on the shower walls and floor. The windows have not been cleaned in ages . Unacceptable don't waste your time. I had to give a star but it deserves zero. we were supposed to be able to check in early waited for a call from the front desk. attempted to call three times phone just rang. Get checked in come up to get a table are told there is a wedding and it could be an hour wait. ended up having to eat outside. the food was over priced and of low quality. our server was polite and professional. the pool was cold. our cabin was even colder with no working furnace. called the front desk sorry we don't have night maintenance or do you want extra blankets was the resolve. at 61 degrees in the cabin and trying to keep warm from the oven. it did not meet up to the $369.00 price tag. it was dirty, musty, and crusty. Don't worry the front desk said she will have maintenance take a look at it before winter. Maybe it just needed flipped to heat..... seriously lady, don't worry there is a picture showing we know how to use a thermostat. No number for the GM listed anywhere we can find. read more

My family of four were camping at the campground across the lake from the manor and arrived too late to make our own dinner so we checked out dining here. After a sweaty couple of hours setting up camp, coming here felt like a dream. The Manor is beautiful with an equally beautiful view of the lake. The wood finishes and classic furniture really gave it a charming feeling. The menu seemed to have something for everyone and the kids menu was great- it also included a coloring sheet and crayons. Our waitress was very attentive. The food unfortunately as said before is mediocre.. nothing to write home about, but tasty enough. I got the chicken Caeser salad and my husband got the steak which came a little overdone. Overall just the ambiance would bring me back here again- I saw they have live music on certain nights as well. read more

Went on a Saturday for lunch. This was supposed to be an anniversary lunch for a couple celebrating 65 yrs. We arrived at 1:00 with a reservation for four. Waitress took our orders and we waited... and waited.. and waited. After 1 hour, we asked about the food and were told one of the orders was never made. The other 3 were sitting under heat lamps. We trekked to Punderson Manor Lodge for a lunch with the girls in February. In the foyer is a grand wood-burning fireplace. We were promptly greeted and sat in the Dining Room. We were right in front of enormous windows overlooking the immense Punderson Lake. The view was breathtaking to see the snow covered trees and frosty lake. I cannot wait to return to sit in the adirondack chairs watching the sunset over the lake drinking an ice cold beer. Lunch is served daily at the Manor from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm. We were the only ones seated in the dining room during our entire visit. However, two gentlemen were sitting at the well-stocked bar. Our waiter was very welcoming and attentive. I started my lunch with a cup of the lobster bisque. It is a gluten-free creamy bisque, served with oyster crackers. The flavor was bland. For my entree, I had a Chicken Brie sandwich. Served on a crusty ciabatta roll, grilled chicken breast smothered with spicy bbq sauce, caramelized onions, silky brie cheese, spinach and beef-stake tomato. The food was mediocre with nothing standing out to set it apart. The service was outstanding and our waiter anticipated our every needs. Wouldn't suggest the sweet and sour eggplant. Strange texture and Chinese isn't their specialty serves with plain uncle bens rice. Other than that everything was great. 25 years ago my wife and I had our honeymoon here and January 8th we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. We stayed here and everything was extremely nice. I called the office and the female I talked to was so extremely helpful and I decided to add 2 add-ons to my room and on top of that I wanted flowers in the room and she went out and got the flowers for me and my wife just loved them. Every time I talked on the phone with someone they were extremely helpful, the food was very good, and most importantly Sara provided excellent customer service. read more

I have never stayed the night here but, have eaten at the restaurant on several occasions. Food is always served fast and it's outstanding. Restaurant staff is friendly and helpful. Gift shop is cute. Could use more merchandise though. The entire place is clean! Even in the places that normal people would never think to clean, yes even there you won't find any dirt or dust. Hats of to the cleaning staff! (Again. This is only speaking for the public areas because I have never spent the night in the building) Twice we thought about staying here. The website was not able to answer my questions so after lunch I asked the lady at the front desk. She gave us the impression that we were bothering her and really was not willing to answer our questions :( Suggestion. There is often things happening within the area and at the the place itself. However nobody knew of the events. Have asked time and time again about tours..... often the answer is something like; I'm not sure what we're gonna do it again but we used to do it always this time and that time, doesn't really help. 10 of us ate at the restaurant at Punderson Manor last night. The setting is elegantly breathtaking and the service was superb, We were seated at a table overlooking the lake. I ordered the Roasted Apple and Onion Pork Chops with Boiled Redskin Potatoes, and Green Beans. The entree was uninspired, it reminded me of cafeteria food. The sides were mediocre, again cafeteria food. I tasted my wife's Lemon-Dill Baked Cod who knows was very good. She had the same sides, still mediocre. Those who had the Sirloin Steak said the dish was excellent. I would try the restaurant again. As I said, the view was breathtaking. read more

Stayed in a cabin for a wedding this weekend. Was very impressed with the wait staff at the restaurant, and their coffee is top notch. Beautiful grounds and very spacious cabins. If you get hungry at night, Zeppes delivers a great pizza pie until midnight or 2 am, I can't remember. Would definitely check out the marina, though be careful if you get a row boat on a windy day, especially if you have 3 people (max number per boat). We had a larger man with us and he really weighed us down, especially since the oars weren't exactly Olympic quality. The restaurant at Punderson Lodge has an amazing view but unfortunately that is it. We came for lunch on a Friday at 12:30. There were only 4 tables and it took an hour to get our food. The table next to us was there first and for their food at the same time. The burger smelled funny, the lobster bisque had no flavor and was cold. The turkey sandwich was just turkey, a piece of lettuce and bread that should not have been called wheat, it was basically white. This usedto be a great restaurant but I will not be back again. Punderson Manor Lodge is a great cure for cabin fever. We recently stayed the night with our two children age 9 and 14. The rooms are comfortable and provide in room refrigerator. The Manor is cozy with an inviting fireplace and rockers off the main lobby and beautiful view of the lake from the dining room. The kids really enjoyed the beautiful indoor pool which is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows providing a wonderful view of the lake and surrounding grounds. Breakfast in the Cherry Dining room was delicious, providing large portions and quick service. The view from the dining room was beautiful, watching snow falling over the lake. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We give Punderson Manor 5 Stars for a State Park Lodge. Amenities matched the price point and the value was spot on. We did not get a chance to try the sled hill due to our schedule but look forward to another return trip. We recommend a stay at Punderson Manor Lodge. read more

While main lodge and setting are pretty, the accommodations and food need some work. We stayed in a pet friendly cabin 2/17/2020. Décor was as advertised but I was disappointed by general lack of up-keep. Missing baseboards, damaged door and wall, squeaking bunk beds, broken light fixture etc. The cabin was warm and had all the advertised amenities. The dishes had a greasy film so I had to wash them before I used them. Never really got hot water, it was warm'ish. Check-in was disappointing, cabin wasn't ready and was told they would text me when it was. Text never came. No information about the property at check in so I'm not sure what else there is to do. Thankfully, we brought board games when we were done walking around. Dinner was so-so. Not a fan of paying $30 for a -meh entrée. I was told I got THE VERY LAST ROLL of toilet paper on the property. Really? Ew. They were out of pool towels. The lake and surrounding property is pretty and there is a nice boardwalk along a portion of the lake. The fireplace in the main lodge is nice, I wanted to kick back for a bit after dinner so I put a few logs on the fire to keep in going. They didn't seem to mind. (LOL) Food Service staff was nice. Not really worth the 2 hour drive, probably won't be back. read more
