Standard HGI property. Room was large and clean. Staff was friendly. Breakfast buffet offering was minimal, however, with only a few items. You're better off getting an a la carte meal. Fitness center needed an update as some of the equipment was not fully functional including the TV. read more

This hotel is not meant for handicap people. The room was too small. I couldn't maneuver around the room in my scooter. The bathroom has no grab bars by the toilet which made using the bathroom very difficult. read more

The staff member at checking was friendly. They gave me a small little welcome bag for my dog! Clean all the way around- room, hallway floors, elevator, entrance, etc. Very nice place to stay and right across the way is a Handel's homemade ice cream and Starbucks! Very comfortable stay, while I was visiting the area for two nights. The Lobby is huge, you have more than enough room to eat or socialize. The bar area is also a decent size. As for the rooms. They were clean and the beds very comfortable. My only complaint would be, the drainage was very slow for the shower as well as the sink. read more

This is a fairly new hotel. I have stayed here twice in the past, and it is my favorite place to stay while working in Akron. The rooms are well-kept and always have been cleaned and maintained properly. They offer a very good breakfast in the morning's. Are usually get a made to order omelettes. The servers in the dining area are very attentive and take care of you.The gym is also very nice and comes in handy. This area has been redone so if you care to take a walk, Update 6.6.19 I found my bathroom floor had some urine stains near the toilet . Not from my as I just arrived. I took some toilet paper and wiped it up. I noticed the paper also was rather black. So a dampened a wash clothe , using my foot I wiped the bathroom floor. See my photo. We had a wonderful stay! The covid precautions were perfect. We saw staff cleaning the common areas constantly. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The pool was open but restrictions were in place to provide safety. 45 min time slots to limit the number of guests. It was perfect! Breakfast was amazing! Again precautions were followed. Instead of the usual ordering at the counter, our order was placed at the table and brought. $11 for a fresh and hot, all you can eat breakfast. It was so delicious and a fantastic value. read more

So the first room they gave us had spill or vomit down the fridge, the floors were sticky, and there less than half a roll of toilet paper when there was room for two rolls. The gal down at the desk sent the maiman up with us to showcase room #2 which had hairs in the toilet and tub, and then finally room #3 which was clean! We nearly left, but the staff working that evening were very apologetic. They did end up comping our room, but I'd rather they had fired the ENTIRE cleaning personnel! So many people are without jobs right now and willing to work. Why not hire folks who take pride in their work? The sheets were dirty (stains and hair) bed was very firm. Gaps at the bottom of thr door are so large light beams in all night as well as the cold hallway. Had to turn the heat on high all night. Shower was very nice and toasty. read more

The staff was condescending, rude and dismissive. We are with a group of 35 people (mostly teens and chaperones). We had purchased 9 rooms. After traveling 10 hours, It was dinner time and decided to order bunch of pizzas from a nearby local restaurant. The plan was to sit in the eating area at the hotel. After getting the pizzas delivered, a staff member came over and told us to move out of the "restaurant" seating area because it was for restaurant guests. There were other condescending and rude experiences there too. One with the WiFi and one with breakfast bill the next morning. I will never stay in a Hilton garden inn again. I stayed overnight at this Hilton Garden Inn. The hotel is nice enough I would be happy to stay here longer than just one night! It felt like it was a fairly new hotel. Everything was clean, fresh, modern. My room was clean and comfortable. The free WiFi was reasonably fast and the HD TV worked well. I had a mini-fridge in my room - which I used to store and chill bottled water. The room also came with a mini microwave oven and a Keurig - neither of which I used. The hotel staff was very friendly. I ate breakfast in the lobby restaurant area the morning of my departure. I ordered an omelette with spinach, mushrooms, onions, bell pepper, sausage and cheddar cheese - with a side of sausage. They did a nice job on the omelette - it was well prepared. Unfortunately, they don't offer tomato juice or V-8 juice with their juice offerings. Fortunately, I was able to find a can of V-8 juice in the lobby pantry (the hotel equivalent of a mini-convenience store). The lobby and bar area is fairly large - lots of places to sit and work. I wanted to get out of my room one afternoon - so I sat at the bar with my MacBook Pro and worked for a bit. Another cool thing about this hotel is - at the bar - they offer a selection of Ohio craft brews. I've been to a number of HGI's that only offer the beers from large national chains. So good on the management here for having the foresight and flexibility to offer local beers. The bartender told me they sell more of the local craft beers than the big national chain beers! The only thing I will ding the hotel on is the configuration of the shower. Booked several months in advance as part of anniversary concert @ the Goodyear Theater...Reservation was for a King bed and a walk-in shower...Checked in @ 4:00 and were told no King beds available and that they could only put us in 2 Queen beds with a tub..Only 1 elevator was operational and the the Pool was down as well...Room was dirty - hair on the toilet and black fuzzies on the carpet (looked liked it wasn't vacuumed)..Decor was old and furniture had many chips and dirty streaks...Talked to the Manager and best they could comp us was a "free" breakfast..Not the Hilton quality we have come to expect and enjoy. read more

My last stay here was a nightmare. Thomas had me standing at the front desk while he stocked 3 cases of water before tending to my request. While looking over occasionally. I call the kitchen to get my kids food, Thomas leaves me on hold for 25 minutes and then just hangs up? So I go to the bar to pick up my food. They have no bags, so I have a tall stack of boxes to carry to my room, and have to go back down to retrieve the drinks that came with the kids meals. All while Thomas is leaning watching basketball. Was on a trip to Cincinnati from central PA for a surprise Mother's Day weekend trip for the wife, and needed a rest stop half way! Akron had plenty to choose from but I wanted something close to the interstate, and not too expensive. In town on business and spent 25 days at this hotel. Overall the stay was pleasant and most of the staff was friendly and accommodating. Two items of note, which is reason for the less than perfect review, involve housekeeping and cost of food. In my month here, I requested housekeeping once each week. While I received fresh towels each time, and my trash cans were emptied, that was the extent of it. Not once was the floor vacuumed, surfaces wiped down, nor were the linens changed (except for the day before I checked out). That's sub-par in my travel experience. While there is a "restaurant" in the lobby, the food cost is extreme. No continental breakfast, like you'd find at other Hilton properties. The limited breakfast cost $11 and the prices double or triple for dinner. At the nightly rate of this property and considering a month long stay, there should have been some concessions. Nice rooms, friendly staff... just remember to eat/drink before you check in or pack some snacks. read more

I'm pretty sure that the only reason for this hotel is to service the nearby Goodyear headquarters as there is not much around. But since that was where I was headed, and a friend was picking me up to go into Akron for dinner, this was an excellent choice. But you need a car as this sits out by the freeway and not in the downtown area. But this hotel is NICE! New, clean and with some of the friendliest staff around. From the time I checked in, to the time I left, everyone was super accommodating. My room was really nice and came with coffee and a refrigerator. My bed was comfortable and the desk area had plenty of outlets. And the bathroom was well appointed and spotless. There is a bar area in the lobby and the bartender and regulars were also quite friendly. And in the morning, there is coffee service down in the lobby as well. Reasonable rates, and friendly staff set this apart from other Garden Inns I've stayed at. read more

Hotel. A relatively new Hilton Garden Inn in the Akron area located close to the downtown area. Like all Hilton Garden Inn's, the accommodations are nice, with clean rooms and friendly help. The room I had was clean, had plenty of lighting and everything was in working order. About the only off thing was the shower, which was in a glass box with the door on the opposite end of the shower head and controls- so you had to reach in and get blasted with cold water to turn the shower on. Not so well thought out. This location has a small full service restaurant on premises which I used only for breakfast. There was supposed to be a breakfast buffet, but they didn't actually put one out- instead the waiter took your order. While I am fine with either option, the waiter did say "you can go ahead and start on the breakfast buffet" so naturally, I get over there and there is nothing out. Not only was that odd, but he told every other person that sat the same line, and I had already mentioned that there was nothing there... I dunno what that was about. I was in Akron, Ohio, for the late part of May to early July of 2015 (yes, this is a very late review) following a disastrous encounter with was an exercise in shady business dealings, possible prostitution, and mountains of filth and neglect that was the Akron City Center Hotel, a place that has since closed down for good [That place should actually be bulldozed and the ground should be salted; that's how horrible it was.] From the moment I walked into the Hilton Garden Inn I felt at home. The staff, headed by Jennifer (I hope she is still there in a supervisory capacity--she's that good) made my stay an absolute opposite of the hell I experienced during my couple of sleepless nights at the horrorshow that was City Center. It was sometimes a shade lonely only because I was on business and knew no one in the area but I could always count on someone from front desk or the bar/dining area to keep me company and entertain in some really interesting and sometimes even insightful conversations. I'm pretty torn between two extremes of my stay here. This hotel has generally pretty good ratings, so my two stars might surprise some folks. I'm going to go into the good aspects of the stay first, before explaining why my rating is so low. First, this hotel is beautiful. The lobby is clean and spacious. The building seems to be new (or at the least is very well maintained) both inside and out. The rooms are well-decorated, spacious, and kept very clean. The bed was fantastic and the shower was UNBELIEVABLE. This was, by far, the VERY BEST hotel shower experience I have ever, ever had. I am incredibly picky about showers. The water pressure here was at least as good as my home shower, and that's saying a lot. We had been put in a handicapped accessible room (not per our request, just happenstance) and the shower was huge and fantastic, with beautiful glass doors. It was so spacious and elegant - very upscale. And with the combination of a massager shower head that actually felt different on the different settings, ample hot water that was easily adjustable to a perfect temp, and glorious, glorious water pressure, I was in heaven. I didn't want to get out. But I had to, because you see, our bathroom STANK. Sewer gas was coming up in the bathroom, from both the sink and the shower, and it was nearly overwhelming. We had to keep the bathroom door shut in order to sleep, and then when getting up in the middle of the night OMG - you would nearly faint in your need for a pee. Totally ridiculous. When reported to the front desk we were offered breakfast as compensation for the smell, which we had to decline as we needed to get on the road early to finish our trip. The other issue we had was that this seemed to be a bit of a party hotel. Despite warning signs in the lobby that parties were not allowed in the rooms, there was lots and lots of partying going on on our floor. It was happening in the rooms, across multiple rooms, and in the hallway. It was so loud from about 7 pm - 10 pm or so that we couldn't hear dialogue on the TV in our room. After 10 it calmed down a little, but we were still woken up several times during the night by revelers... reveling. If you want a quiet place to sleep while on a trip, this is not going to be the spot for you. Despite being somewhat in the middle of nowhere, just off the highway in an industrial area, this place was rocking! There were multiple events going on throughout the hotel, not just the parties going on in the rooms and hallways. While the bed and the shower were the height of luxury, and just what a pair of tired travellers needed, the full experience left us tired and cranky the next day. read more

Unfortunately, the hotel we were staying at was evacuated at midnight and we had to drive an hour and a half to reach this Hilton Garden Inn, which surprisingly was able to accommodate our group of 20 guests. The beds were comfortable, the hotel is beautiful and every was kind and welcoming. I loved the little side perks: the office room which included a printer, the large rooms and the morning breakfast. Although breakfast is not included in the price of your stay, it was one of the best hotel breakfast experiences I've had. The service was remarkable, you are both waited for egg and sweet options and have a buffet style option as well (both are included in the price). And, if breakfast isn't your thing, just grab a cup of their complementary coffee to go. Great experience at the Hilton Garden Inn, and one that I'd certainly recommend. read more

Good day, I have stayed in several Hilton establishments on business and pleasure, but this was the first time I stayed at this location. For the most part, the staff was accommodating as well as joyful, especially the bartender. My family and I were staying there due to a death in the family, so the stay was short. The rooms were clean and showed no wear and tear, BUT when my family and I met for the hotel "Continental Breakfast" we found out that there is a cost for simply uncooked food items like milk, juice, muffins, and other low-cost food items. This was the first time I was approached by an employee explaining that there is a charge for the continental breakfast and additional cost for other items on their menu. After returning from my room since I didn't think I would have to pay for a "Continental Breakfast," especially after that same morning I was at the Orlando's Homewood Suites where their continental breakfast which included an assortment of hot items were complimentary to all the guests. What saddened me was when I witnessed two groups of children (teenagers and their younger siblings) that came down to eat and were told that they must pay for simple items like milk and cereal or a small muffin. These would be free items in every other hotel's Continently Breakfast to include other Hilton establishments. They returned to their rooms with nothing. Hilton's vision and mission state the following "To fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering exceptional experiences- every hotel, every guest, every time." Well, they provided me and my family with neither light nor warmth after children had to leave without food from their simple continental breakfast that should have been complimentary to all guests. I've stayed here every few months for the past few years, ever since they opened. When they first opened, the restaurant menu was top notch with some of the best options I've seen at a hotel. Since then, the menu seems more right-sized and cost efficient for a mid level chain, still not bad though. They've made some upgrades recently since my last visit, including virtual room keys and including the bottled water right in the rooms. The gym is small, so try to get there a little early if you want a treadmill. The staff is great and place is always clean, so no complains here! read more

This was unexpected: a huge newly built hotel near the Goodyear headquarters. Very nicely appointed, clean and well-maintained. The staff was quite helpful and friendly. I wonder how good its business is though. We stayed here while driving through Akron the day before Thanksgiving, and there didn't seem to be that many guests. Maybe the holiday cut into their business, and they do better when Goodyear is up and running. read more

This Hotel was just decent. We got early check in which was nice. Complimentary water at the front desk was nice after a long drive. The room was clean and very nice. Comfortable beds and pillows. It would have been nice to have additional complimentary water bottles in our fridge. We stayed on the first floor and I thought it was very strange that our drapes didn't close all the way. The drape track only went halfway down the window, so people walking on the sidewalk next to our room could see right in our hotel room all day and night. The lights also shined in our room because of this all night long. Staff was friendly and nice. Decent all you can eat breakfast for 11/per person. Food was pretty good. read more

We live close but just wanted to have a night out together and relax. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool was warm, the hot tub was even hotter!!!! Loved it. I asked for 4 extra pillows while making the reservations, as soon as I opened the door, I knew they actually listened and read my request. The breakfast in the morning was great!!!!! I had the custom omelet, the way I like it. Fruits, juices, yogurt. I ate everything. Very new hotel! Very clean! I love to smell the whites in our room, the smell of clean bleach, I can't wait to craw inside the sheets. We've already made plans to go back for another get away very soon. She frequently responded to my emails and even booked us for a shuttle bus that evening for free even though I only ended up having two guests book for that night. Great customer service! read more
