We had the Peruvian ceviche, grilled vegetables, filet mignon, mushroom risotto, cheese pizza, and a few other dishes. They were all excellent. They served her a banana bread with caramelized sugar, bananas, and raspberry drizzle birthday dessert. It was quite tasty. The ambience was really, really nice, especially the tables in the sand right above the water and crashing waves. The staff was awesome too. Very helpful and polite. One look at the menu told us this place was probably run by an Argentine. In turn, this would probably mean great meats, pizzas, and pastas. Happily, both of these possibilities were reality! The restaurant has a modern vibe, with tables in the sand on an elevated terrace overlooking the beach. There are fans to keep cool (and keep away the bugs). From start to finish, the service was friendly, prompt, even solicitous. The servers are all pros, a real asset to the place. But the food, what about the food? Everything was actually... delicious! The smoked porchetta with risotto was the best meat dish I'd had in ages, with cherry tomatoes and arugula providing just enough contrast for the rich parmesan risotto and the pork, which was tender enough to pull apart with the pair of spoons provided. The pappardelle were freshly made and toothsome, with an exquisite bolognese. The wines were also excellent, and very reasonably priced. (In fact, the prices for the food were downright modest, given the quality of the product.) There's a nice selection from around the world, but especially from Mexico and points south. It can be hard to find satisfying, well priced options on tourist strips like the one in Corral del Risco, but Punta Mercedes has squared that particular circle with ease. The vendors were way too aggressive at this location and even came up into the restaurant and the restaurant didn't really do much about it. Overall we felt the food was too oily. We were not planning on eating anymore food that night because we were so stuffed but the vibe of this place and the idea of some great wines pushed us through these doors and we landed a great sunset view seating without any reservations and thoroughly enjoyed the time spent here. They have a great selection of wine, believe me.. it's exhaustive and great. We tried a bottle from Baja California and it was delicious. The staff here is very accommodating, awesome and knowledgeable about the dishes. They recommended a great tuna rock item from their small plates menu and I ended up ordering it twice. It was so good!! Really good. They have pizzas, oh yeah, it's an Italian cuisine restaurant so they have more than the pizzas but I tried sticking with all the fish dishes they had on the menu. A Hidden gem! Open kitchen, with a woodfired oven. Everything smelled and looked promising as we searched for a dinner spot. We were promptly seated at a comfortable table on the sand at sunset, beautiful views, a relaxed vibe. The service from Manuel and staff was efficient and very personable. All of his recs were perfect. The FOOD was the runaway favorite. One of the best meals we've had. Seriously exceptional. We absolutely loved this place. Hands down the best meal we've had in Punta Mita. Ambiance, service and food were all 5stars. The grilled peach salad was amazing. We had the pizza and pappardelle bolognese and both were exceptional. We aren't big fish eaters and that's mostly what Punta Mita has to offer. Our family of 5 had the dinner of our trip at Punta Mercedes last night! Sitting at a perfect table on the sand and looking out to the ocean and the rocks was perfect. JJ and his team were so attentive and the food was superb. We had steak, pizza, pasta, shrimp and the hot rock beef app and dessert! We pretty much had one of everything. We mentioned our anniversary so of course they brought out another dessert and had candles and sang. Let's just say that we started out with the Rock Tuna and Rock Beef, where you cook the meat on a hot rock. I immediately took out my phone and gave 5 stars!!!!! This is a wonderful place to dine when you need a break from margaritas and Mexican food. Their wine list is amazing and the wood fire oven creates the best thing crust pizza. They serve you a warm fresh roll with homemade chimichurri sauce to start. We had a basil, shrimp garlic pizza and it was more than enough for the 2 of us. Have been in town 5 days and had dinner here twice. It's a newer restaurant and it's wonderful. Both times we really didn't want a big meal. It was my husband and myself. We each got a salad. The salads are outstanding and a pizza to share. The pizza are wood oven baked and really great. The staff and service are the best. The host or maybe owner not sure greeted us the second time like we were friends. They actually remembered us. We had Abeel as our waiter both times and really got to be friends. This is a brand new restaurant set behind the wine store on the Main Street in town. Very spartan but kind of cool appearance but the star here is the good food. Wood fired pizza oven cooks all the meat dishes which are excellent, not just good for the area. the owner owns the wine store and has Argentinian heritage so the meat preparation and quality is perfect. Nice place in town, had dinner here I ordered steak medium rare and it was really rare. Not sure if it is understood what temp that is or he only heard the rate part . It was a rib eye great flavor. Salads were terrific so was the pizza. They really have the pizza down. Thin crust just charred a bit from wood oven crispy just the perfect amount of toppings .
