    My gate info
    Candace M.

First time here, the experience was good, walk in & go left & go thru TSA, walk in & turn right & go to counter. 6 gates, no confusion. I had an egg sandwich at the one & only restaurant which was a complete waste of $$, also got a coffee which was horribly watered down, outside that , when time to board they call what zone you're in, you walk outside & board like you're in the 1950's. Be aware if it's raining, you're getting wet if you don't have an umbrella etc.

I had never experienced an airport like this before, but it was quick and painless. They are strict about you checking your bags two hours or less before takeoff. After checking our bags though, everything went smoothly. Security can take a bit if they have only one desk open. Those with TSA Pre-check can skip the line, which delays the main line. They have a "snack bar" outside the gates which has drink and snack vending machines. There is a convenience shop and bar inside the gates. The first hour of parking is free. It's a dollar for every hour after that. You do walk outside on the tarmac to board the plane. As mentioned by another Yelper, nothing is covered. Thankfully, we had a nice day or we would've been delayed even further.

Easy check in, easy parking. Baggage claim takes a little time but not terrible wait.

Worst airport experience ever! Disorganized, overcrowded, no AC, and rude gate agents. Will never fly through here again.

Airport needs to install a shower room. Parked a 1/2 mile away and had to walk in 97* weather. Now I need a shower.

Ask the Community - Punta Gorda Airport - PGD

How much does it cost to store your car at the airport while gone?

Long term parking is $11.00 per day, $65.00 per week. The first 2 hours are free

I have heard that there is free parking available and i don't mean just the 2 hour version. has anyone else heard this and used it?

I have been there twice, my memory is that the free parking within the airport complex is for 30 minutes or 1 hour.

In addition, there are employees positioned throughout the airport, asking what airline you're looking for and if you're tsa precheck or not. These employees were assisting people to their concourse, as they have four (A, B, C, and D). There are escalators and elevators for those who need them. I found multiple trash cans and recycle bins in the airport. There was a water waste collector right before security that I used to dump My water. The bathrooms in the airport have many stalls and were clean and spacious. The gate areas can get crowded I waited two gates away from my gate because it was a little too busy for my taste. The restaurants were open as early as 6:30am. There is no delta lounge, unfortunately. I did not have enough time to visit any of the restaurants or shops. People in the airport are friendly. I dropped something and the people behind me hollered and helped me recover my item. I saw this happening routinely through the airport- another lady dropped her jacket and someone returned it, etc. Very nice people here, honest. TSA agents were kind and efficient. This is an easy airport to catch a flight. I can't speak for parking- I returned a rental car. There's not much nearby the airport, but a few convenient stores about 2 miles away. It's a small airport, which says it's international- I wonder where they go?

Between the airport and United, I wouldn't go out of my way to fly out of here again. United premier checkin had one couple in front of me that took over 15 min. So may issues- over weight bags, bought the wrong kind of ticket, etc. only one person for premier and one person I. Regular checkin. Going through pre-check, young kids took long. Wheel chairs going ahead, etc. Got to gate c and only 1 place to sit for food and drinks. Line so long and no chance to to sit and eat. Got upgraded, raised my hand and walked to counter but layout is such that I couldn't get through the people. Lost the upgrade. She just gave it away immediately. Not a fan of this airport for United. Suggest bringing own food and hovering upfront with everyone else no matter what.

We had to park in the Dolphin lot so you need a shuttle and they don't drop you off at the terminal, but in short term parking. The airport itself is small enough that it's so easy to get around and is my choice for flights. However, recently we decided to go right into SRQ and we loved being at our favorite Sarasota spots right after landing. After landing we were quickly able to navigate the small airport, get our rental car, stop for caffeine and be at The Ringling all within 30 minutes of landing. The airport is small so it's easy to navigate but that also means there are not a ton of amenities. We enjoyed local artwork and displays throughout. Also, the volunteers that provide airport information and tourist information were very welcoming.

Tampa International Airport consistently demonstrates an exceptional level of operational proficiency. The architectural layout and passenger flow are remarkably intuitive, making the process of flying in and out genuinely simple and fast. When traveling with my husband and children, mitigating transit friction is paramount, and this facility fundamentally eliminates the typical stressors associated with modern air travel. Beyond their logistical prowess, I must commend their digital marketing strategy. Their social media postings are, quite frankly, hilarious. It is rare to see a transportation entity execute such a witty, engaging, and culturally resonant online brand. It reflects a high degree of organizational intelligence and a keen understanding of modern consumer engagement. Tampa International sets the premier standard for how an airport should operate, seamlessly merging frictionless travel with brilliant public relations. It is a consistently superior experience from arrival to departure.

I honestly couldn't remember whether I had been through this airport before, but if I had, I certainly didn't remember it being this large. The layout took a little getting used to, especially with the tram ride to and from the rental car area, but everything was somewhat clearly marked and easy to navigate. The giant flamingo sculpture in the middle of the airport was impossible to miss and quickly became a favorite landmark for the kids. It's one of those unexpected touches that gives an airport a little personality. We also flew out of Tampa at the end of our trip, and the departure experience was smooth and stress-free. That's about the highest compliment I can give an airport when traveling with children. One minor downside: the Starbucks in our terminal was already sold out of quite a few food items and it wasn't even midday yet. Fortunately, we were able to grab sandwiches from Potbelly, which worked out just fine. Overall, Tampa International was clean, efficient, and much easier to navigate than many airports of a similar size. We'd be happy to fly through here again.

I can say, for sure, that there is a dedicated, experienced group of people who work here. A small outfit of 3-6 line guys (albeit, with a total of 50-80 years of experience on the tarmac among all of them) turning around jets in 30 minutes with 4 fuel trucks and 2 tugs to go around is a sight to see. Planes always get right where they need to be and are ready for flight in record time. I saw the great service given to clients, as well; from the receptionist office all the way down to the airstairs, you will be taken care of - rental car and all. It may not be the most efficient setup, as far as the layout and there's plenty of room for expansion and improvement, but for what it is - a single taxiway, 2 hangar, private, limited-use airstrip mostly hidden from public sight behind a grass berm and a treeline - it's really a gem for those with the means to fly in ($$$$$). So, if you do have those means ($$$$$), I would highly recommend it.
