Giant mug of hot chocolate and some regular sized coffees

I'm not all that familiar with Colombian cuisine, but I was visiting Boston and heard good things about this place so we decided to stop in for breakfast. It absolutely did not disappoint. The vibe is cozy diner. We were handed off to an English speaking staff member right away which, as a Spanish major, I felt bad about but was also grateful for. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I got the arepa with scrambled eggs (update: I returned for a second visit shortly after and got the arepa paisa). I'd never had arepa before and it was just so delicious, especially with the squeaky cheese on top. The paisa dish was loaded with different meats and plantains in a tomato-based sauce that just blew my mind. And these were generous, delicious, filling portions for a very reasonable price point. Pro tip: get the hot chocolate. It's made fresh from scratch and served in a giant mug with love. Wish I could give this place 15 stars. Can't wait for an excuse to come back to Boston and eat here again!

This place is by far one of my favorite local breakfast places. It's Colombian arepas with breakfast foods like homemade country style cheese, sausage, pork belly, chicken, eggs. Whichever arepa you get accompanied by the protein of your choice it will come with a big bowl of hot chocolate either in milk or water. Or coffee. They have fruit milk shakes, but not your strawberry and banana but tropical fruit like mango and maracuya (passionfruit). I've tried their lunch dishes and they're alright but breakfast is where they are at! The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I've brought so many friends and family here in the past. They bring a homey and comforting vibe, they don't make you feel like you are asking for the world when you ask for something and they do it with such a smile. They will small talk with people they know. I keep coming back for the food and AMAZING customer service. These new high end restaurants can't train staff to be this great. Oh and did I mention the prices?!?!? Fill your tummy for $10 or less!

Food was hot and had flavor that left a lasting impression on the palate. I would go here again. Be prepared to speak in Spanish though - the effort is well worth the reward.

We went to Eastie for some authentic Columbian food, and Punto Rojo wowed us. I've never had it before, but the food was quite delicious. There isn't allot of parking unfortunately, but we were able to find some on Meridian a few steps away. It's a neighborhood establishment, and the waitresses speak mostly Spanish, but we were able to get recommendations and didn't really have much of a problem with communications. Claudia was great. We had the tostones with guac as a starter. They are basically smashed plantains, and went wonderfully with the house made fresh guacamole. The lomo salteado is a delicious sauced beef, and with the eggs, beans, salad and rice it was quite filling and the Punto Rojo was a great experience I plan on coming back to.

Being only half Colombian, I have to rely on my mother and aunts to pick the "good" Colombian places in Boston, and this is it. This is my go to place when I want authentic Colombian food. Whether its breakfast or lunch or even dinner, I order the typical plate. It comes with rice, beans, steak, an egg and a giant arepa. My god its to die for. Also, without fail I need to order a giant Colombian hot chocolate, and an empanada. The bowl of hot chocolate reminds me of the kind that my mother makes for me. The empanada, my god where could you go wrong. Its filled with meat and potatoes and spices and deliciousness. I even can get my boyfriend, who doesn't like much ethnic food, to eat about 3 of them. This was the first place I went to when I came back from my adventures abroad. It feels like home. I will say, it is small, kind of hole in the wall, and the parking isn't the best. But If you can over look that for some delicious local and authentic food, this is it. My god, writing this makes me want to eat it now.

The steak was cooked perfectly and it came with everything I was craving. Plus the refried beans, creama, eggs, plantains, chicharron, and warm tortilla--yum! The pupusa was different, as it's made with a different cheese here which the waitress did warn us. Because of this, it wasn't our favorite but still good. Overall this spot is popular in East Boston, I would definitely check it out! Also if you tell them it's your birthday they will sing to you and you get to wear the special hat :)

I live locally, we have been buying their food and supporting them for years, since before the pandemic. Last night we had other food from somewhere else around the corner and just wanted to get two regular / virgin pina coladas to go. But because this particular woman doesn't like black people, she did not want to serve us the drinks. Not only was her customer service terrible, she was also trying to extort / milk us for more money. whole time the store was closing in like 30 minutes, and it would've been smart to allow your business to earn more money even if it's small, on drinks while you get ready to shut the grill down. Instead, they wanted us to order something, they would have to rush to make it, and then rush us to eat it, and then kick us out because it was closing soon. Soooooo disappointing. Actually Terrible service.

Chicharron was great. - Arepa: looks like a tortilla, so not the typical thick arepas I'm used to. So felt like I paid $8 just for a tortilla and small block of cheese - Tostones con guacamole: I prefer my tostones to be crispier, but they had great taste. - Cazuela de Mariscos: Great flavor. I put it on top of rice and enjoyed it with the other food, otherwise too heavy/dense on it's own. I didn't enjoy the mussels (I love mussels). They were too gritty.
