A woman named Dayan (Garst?) works there. She was previously allowed to groom cats at Twin Pines. She was not an employee of Twin Pines, but groomed cats there in case they needed to be partially sedated for hair cuts. Because Twin Pines is the clinic we used, we tried Dayan for the first time when our sweet 5 yr old rescue cat needed a haircut. The staff said he was so calm and well behaved they did not sedate him. When I returned later to pick him up, staff members met me at the door with apologies. They assured me my cat was not permanently harmed, but that for reasons they could not explain, DAYAN, had essentially attacked him with the clippers. Our sweet natured boy whom had already survived a life of neglect and near starvation had been shaved nearly to the skin, which would be normal (He is white and Half Persian.) However the cut was very choppy with countless nicks that he'd to have hit his skin. Some hair had been cut from the legs, but were not clipper short like his body. She hadn't cut his nails, so the staff had attempted to do that and clean him up a bit because she didn't bathe him either. Worst of all was what she did to his face. I had left her s note asking her to trim/shape the hair on his cheeks as best she could WITHOUT TOUCHING HIS WHISKERS OR EYEBROWS. She chopped hunks of hair randomly out of his cheeks, and INTENTIONALLY CUT HIS WHISKERS DOWN TO STUBBLE. Most people know that cats rely on their whiskers for balance and equilibrium. Without them, they may be nauseated, dizzy, and have difficulty walking normally. I was traumatized to find my baby had suffered such deliberate abuse and cruelty at the hands of an alleged professional. I cried. The clinic didn't charge me, and assured me DAYAN would never again be allowed inside their building. They told me the cat would likely feel better in a few days. He remained in our bed almost continuously for approximately 3 days (normally, he only naps with us occasionally.) His condition has returned mostly to normal, though I fear his trust in us and humans in general has been further damaged. His whiskers are growing back very slowly. A few are nearly normal, but some remain stubble-like after several months. Do not let this monster groom your animal. I would also be wary of any business that employs her. If this profession is overseen by state or local authorities, I urge them to investigate. I will post a few before and after photos if I am able. The pictures after the cut do not clearly show the extent of the abuse. You can tell that the cut is choppy, and viewed closely, you can see that the whiskers are gone. DAYAN (Garst?) is dangerous to animals, and several employees of Twin Pines Pet Clinic can now testify to that. I would certainly give zero stars, but not know another way to start the review process.

I'm constantly amazed at the variety of animals they have products for. I'm pretty sure they could help you with anything you need for your pet--any kind you may have. I have a boxer puppy, Lyle tells me boxers are dumb then backtracked and said but not her. He told me my cocker spaniel is too old at 10 to learn anything. He said he can train her. He slapped her bottom several times to get her to sit. I thought maybe I'm too soft and this is the way of things in the real world. I agreed to leave them. Thanksgiving week we dropped them off with all their stuff with instructions that the boxer will get diarrhea if given a different food. Mind you I took enough for 4 days, knowing they won't eat it all because they just don't eat much when not at home. He said he throws out all leftovers and gives fresh everyday. BS! I put the food in sealed cereal box containers, 2 of them. When I picked them up Friday after thanksgiving I was later by 1 1/2 hours, 4;30 in the afternoon. My cocker spaniels bed was soaked through with pee! It was so wet it literally dripped! I had to throw it away. The boxers bed had poop all over. Threw that one away. Their food containers, 1 full the other half full. I didn't say anything because I was totally intimidated by Lyle. His wife was nice I thought! As soon as my dogs came out of kennel they peed. A lot. So they had not been let out for a long while. They hopped in car right away and the ride home was almost unbearable! My dogs stank so bad! As soon as we got them home they got baths, crates sanitized and beds went in the trash. The beds were not cheap either. Yep i saved money on the kennel. But i had to buy medication for my boxer because she had diarrhea. Had to buy 2 beds. My dogs were not the same dogs i dropped off. They were beat down. I don't know if the people there actually hit either one of my dogs but you can tell they were neglected and not treated well. I thought maybe I was over reacting so I mentioned this to friends and they said no way I was not. I wouldn't take my dogs back there if they paid me to leave them. No I didn't say anything to these people. I was so po'd that I was afraid I'd cry I was so mad. Found out that my granddaughter's friends left their dogs there for a few days. She said her husband never told her all the details but he was very unhappy with this kennel, po'd. Next time I leave my dogs in a kennel it will be a well known establishment that has been reviewed. Yes I will pay more but well worth it. I wouldn't take my dog back to be trained either, as I was planning on. I'm sure he would break her spirit and that is what I love sbout her.
