I recently signed up with Puppy-Wuppy to help my two year old female German Shepard/Australian Cattle dog mix improve her basic behavior and to learn how to better manage her energy level. Upon reaching out, Lori and her team were extremely helpful, explaining the school's overall training approach, the class size and structure, and letting me know the expectations of owners throughout the process. (Reinforcing training lessons at home between weekly classes, etc.) Thus far, my dog and I have completed nine weeks of basic obedience training (each semester is comprised of six weekly classes) much of which has focused on building foundational skills related to following commands, walking alongside the owner ('heeling'), and building patience (e.g., maintaining a 'sit' position until released). The class size is small (four dogs in my current basic obedience class) in order to enable focused instruction for each dog/owner and to minimize possible distractions for the dogs. While my dog will likely always be energetic and excitable, I've already seen a noticeable improvement in her behavior, particularly on walks (less pulling, less reacting to other dogs). Overall I am very happy with the results and will continue my dog's training with Puppy-Wuppy. read more

We have been training with Puppy Wuppy for about three years now. we started there with our rescue puppy Henry. Being senior citizens, we knew we needed to get a handle on our boy, before he grew. The trainers at Puppy Wuppy have helped us achieve much more than having a well behaved, obedient dog. He is a certified therapy dog, and has achieved AKC Trick dog, three levels of Canine Good Citizen, and performs with the Puppy Wuppy Drill Team. Lori, our trainer at Puppy Wuppy continues to challenge us and to help us to really know our dog. Along this journey of training, we have built a strong relationship with Henry, and he is such a happy dog!! We also began training our older dog Abby at Puppy Wuppy, even though she is an extremely anxious and fearful dog. Our trainer, Lori understands that Abby is there for a somewhat different reason than most dogs. She attends ( and LOVES) classes to learn that the world is not such a scary place. When we decided to get our German Shepard Bella , my husband wanted to do more with her than just be our pet. We then adopted another German Shepard Diesel, that was scheduled to be killed and was rescued . We were the fourth home and he had issues with being reactive and afraid of other dogs. Bella has earned her title in Rally Novice A and has started her beginner obedience A trials and her goal is to move onto IPO. I have been going to Puppy-Wuppy for 3 years now and cannot say enough great things about Lori Minardi. She is a fantastic trainer and handler who has experience with all different kinds of dog breeds and temperaments. I have brought all 3 of my dogs to her and have taken a range of classes from obedience and rally, to urban agility and agility classes. She has encoraged me and my one dog to challenge the limits of what we can do as a team and if it wasn't for her I would have never thought to start competing in AKC trials. When I started going to her I had a skitish and freightened dog who would growl and cry as soon as another dog entered the room. Because she helped build his confidence through training, I now have a calm, well adjusted dog, who I can take anywhere with me. What sets her apart from the other trainers out there is that she truly cares about the dogs and clients she teaches. Training our puppy with Lori has gifted us with a friendly and well-behaved member of the family! We rescued an 11 week old Shepherd mix who had no human contact at all. Knowing this puppy was going to be a big dog (I've only had lap dogs before), I knew I needed help training him - for the safety of others and the sanity of the family! A great place to teach and train your dog of any age. Lori and her staff of trainers truly care about your puppy/dog being the best it can be. You and your dog will have fun learning how to work as a team and you will get quick, effective and lasting results if you follow their program - which is logical and simple to do. I've seen dozens of people get impressive results with many different breeds, types and ages of dogs. Lori is particularly great at solving "problem" behaviors. If you want to take your dog to the next level and compete in obedience or other dog sports, you can do that too. I've titled some dogs in the past and hope to do so again with their help. I sought out Puppy Wuppy when I got my golden retriever Charlie as a puppy. He was much more than I bargained for and I was overwhelmed and defeated. I was having behavioral problems with one of my dogs. I had tried several trainers & different programs with no success. After an assessment with Lori I was able to get to the root of the problem. She was honest, realistic & no nonsense about her methods so there were no false expectations. After a only a few training sessions I saw a huge improvement in my dogs behavior. We eventually signed up for an agility class, just for "fun", and now my dog is night & day different. He has become a social, trustworthy and calm animal, that is a joy to be around. I have been training with Lori with my German Shepherd since this past summer, she is extremely knowledgeable about working breeds as well as other breeds. She truly cares about the success of the dog and never takes a one size fits all method to training. She keeps the classes small- which I love because it gives more time to focus on each individual dog and what they need to work on. My dog and I have been training with Lori since summer of 2016 and she is the best. I was referred to Lori by another trainer because of my dog's on-leash dog aggression issues and Lori has been so helpful in correcting that issue. We had several private lessons both at Lori's training facility and on my street. Now we go to group training which Lori keeps purposefully small, usually only two dogs, which enables her to give so much more individual attention then you get from most other trainers. Lessons with Lori @ Puppy-Wuppy have been so beneficial to my Malinois, Loki, and myself. Helping us find our place together as a team that is positive, concise, & fun!! Every interaction we have is a training opportunity that I try to take advantage of. When we first adopted our dog, he was a handful: very energetic, mouthed sometimes, and would jump up on people. After one trainer refused to even see us, I signed up for obedience with Lori and saw almost an immediate change. I was more confident, and the dog was happier. I highly recommended Puppy Wuppy for training needs of dogs any age/any size. We have been attending classes for our Australian Labradoodle going on a year and our Libby has progressed amazingly. Lori's main concern is for the pups is to be safe outside of class and focuses on obedience and the dogs feeling safe and secure.
