NJ Fix My Dog - Book a Trainer Today!

    NJ Fix My Dog

    (20 reviews)

We absolutely couldn't be happier with Linda at NJ Fix My Dog and the incredible transformation of…read moreour dog Millie. As first-time dog owners, we tried our best to train Millie on our own, but it just wasn't cutting it. We constantly struggled with obedience and her inability to listen to us, intense pulling when we went on walks, jumping, getting mouthy - the list goes on and on. We felt defeated and insecure - but as soon as we talked with Jean and Linda at NJ Fix My Dog, we felt hopeful! They assured us Millie was the kind of dog that could be helped, and they'd be happy to step in.  Throughout Millie's 2 week bootcamp, we received frequent updates from Linda on Millie's progress, photos, and videos. We missed her but we knew she was in excellent care and learning so much everyday. After the 2 week bootcamp, Linda brought Millie home and we were in shock at how well-behaved, and well-mannered suddenly became. The day she came home, Linda spent over an hour with us going over what Millie learned and how to work with her going forward. She also gave us a full document with an assessment of Millie's overall behavior, how to continue to enforce what she learned, and how encourage her along the way.  Before bootcamp, we dreaded going for a walk with Millie because of how she behaved when she saw other dogs (pulling toward them, whimpering, getting anxious, etc.), and how she walked in general (tugging and zig-zagging the entire walk). Now she walks like an absolute DREAM! Right at our side, a nice little trot, ignores other dogs, people, squirrels - everything! We could walk her all day long now, and we look forward to all our walks! Millie used to ignore us when we called for her, or told her "no" if she was doing something we didn't like, but now her recall skills are excellent and she runs right over to us when we call her. She doesn't even try to attempt the bad behavior she used to do, like jumping, getting mouthy, etc., and instead happily relaxes. Her overall demeanor used to be just a little bit intense, always on the lookout for something to get into - but now she is so calm and seems at east with herself. Linda worked WONDERS! We learned so much about Millie through this process, and we truly feel comfortable with what Linda taught us to help Millie be her best self. We feel like we have the tools we need, and the confidence. We feel the support of NJ Fix My Dog now even after Millie is back home - we know Linda is just a call or text away if we need any help.

It was a blessing and pure pleasure inviting Jean into our home and training us and Vinnie our new 8 week old American Brittany how to properly behave in a family. I was a memorable and educational experience, Jean we thank you so much!

She came home in shock and growled at our other dog (who she loves and has never previously growled at). Whatever they did during the day together, she was affected quite negatively. We've tried several trainers and boarding facilities in various cities and states. We even resorted to trying a famous YouTube trainer and he came back worse and even more anxious. Typically, these expensive "board and trains" we've participated in have ended with medication recommendations and a "good luck". One final trainer recommended we try Mind Of Dog because she also wasn't able to break through. I'm so grateful we did. He's thriving and comes home exhausted. An added bonus is the people training we've received. The best part of all of it, is that he's finally getting the exercise and structure he's always needed and deserves. They handle the dogs calmly, but with lots of structure and clear boundaries, which our dog desperately needs. We can finally go to work and travel without worrying that he's being mishandled or ignored. We're so grateful to have found this place and I have to admit, I was waiting for him to fail again, because we had lost all hope. I highly recommend that you give Mind Of Dog a shot, especially if you're in a similar position as we were. Thanks, Mind of Dog! Senna loves you all and is so grateful to be able to play with dogs without fear and anxiety.

All I have to do is "camp bow wow" at home and he gets excited...what else do I need? I have to comment on some of the comments... * dogs walking in circles... - have you ever been to a dog park? after initial excitement, many dogs just kind of start to relax...some play like maniacs, others chill...dogs tend to cycle energy, rest, energy, rest...and in the afternoons you'll see many just laying on their sides, quite content. * Concrete floors.....indoor facility and very easy to clean and disinfect concrete floors. * dogs go where they are playing......have you ever been to a dog park? they pee and crap everywhere.... t hey're smart enough to avoid walking in pee and poop and with olfactory senses 600x more sensitive than ours they can detect the smallest amount of either. if you want to coddle your dog and spend over $100 day, go to the Morris animal inn..I'm sure it's world class, but these are DOGS for crying out loud... most have fun, and most come home very tired! The people are friendly, they'll feed your dog what you bring and how you instruct, and look after your dog in a warm, environmentally safe, clean facility. at a good price. my dog loves it...what more do I need? it's a good value!

Her reviews were all positive and consistent in their comments, and her rates were listed and extremely reasonable. Karin responded to my inquiry within an hour and we had a scheduled phone call that same evening. She came to our home the next night. When she arrived, she quietly observed our new puppy and our nine-year-old dog, and then gave us detailed instructions on what she wanted us to do. She also had us try some of those instructions while she was still there to guide us. At the end of the visit, we scheduled another session for two weeks from that date. Things are already so much better in our home. Karin got right to the root of our puppy's issues and quickly came up with a plan for us to execute. She is a great communicator and just made everything seem doable. Most importantly, our dogs responded to her immediately. She clearly understands dogs and likes them. It was easy to see that, for her, it was about them as individuals, and not about a set method that she adheres to. From our first conversation, I could see that Karin loves what she does. She is curious, observant, and determined to find a way to help her clients and their dogs to understand each other better and to build relationships based on trust and consistency. She just calms the chaos that having a puppy can sometimes lead to! Do not hesitate to turn to her.

Couldn't walk her on a leash and no one could approach her without her peeing and getting into submission mode. Later she walked on a leash but pulled like crazy. It was no fun walking her. We wanted to help her but didn't know how. We were referred to Elena a dog trainer who someone we worked with said it helped her dog. We inquired about her program and it was a lengthy 21 days and it was higher than the amount we were thinking of spending. We needed to do something though and decided to pay the money and help this sweet dog live a more normal life and help us with the stress of her issues. We decided to do it on a vacation time where we would have had to pay for the 10 days we were away to have someone watch her it helped with our issues on the cost. We are so glad we did. Our dog is so much better now. She walks on a leash very well but walks off leash even better. She listens and follows our commands very well. Shes a completely different dog. Elena did an incredible job training our dog and I would recommend her program to anyone. You won't regret it.
