We are huge fans of Puppywood - and so are our dogs! We bring them twice a week for doggy daycare, and also have boarded them here on several occasions. They are always excited when they go in, and generally quite tired in the evening from playing with their friends. This is the best doggie daycare in the area! Puppywood is definitely a second home for Eli. Eli attends Monday through Friday's and sometimes during the weekends if his mommas has plans and do not want to feel guilty for putting him in his kennel. Puppywood is absolutely wonderful. Our pup Eli gets so excited as soon as he realizes he's going to daycare and he practically runs inside as soon as we open the car door. we love being able to watch him on the cameras whenever we want. The staff is beyond incredible. Our dog is definitely in good hands at Puppywood-Anderson. I am beyond thankful for the staff. I, as a furmom am very thankful because some of the girls there know about my obsession with my pup and will send videos and or photos via snapchat or facebook messenger. And the days this occurs is usually when I am having a bad day, so I am beyond thankful for everything Katelyn, Laci, Lauren, Brandon and everyone does. Eli loves it here especially when he gets special treatment along with extra treats. Overall great place with friendly associates that seem they really care about your animals. Taylor and Katlyn are horrible staff. They're always texting and gossip about other clients that they just left in front of everybody. Attitudes at the counter and they both let all of the dogs fight and scream in the back. We watched on the cameras and also at dropped off. The most unprofessional staff ever!!!! read more

I have just moved to Anderson and was looking for a new groomer to take my two 100lb+ dogs too (Great Pyrenees and Saint Bernard) I loved our old groomer but it's a bit to far now. Puppywood's website was great! super easy to book, Convenient hours for people who work a 9-5 job, I especially loved how I got to make a profile about my dogs so the employees would know more about them. Sadly I don't think I will be returning to Puppywood for grooming. I have very large fluffy pups and they require monthly detailed grooming. I don't feel like that was given at Puppywood. When I booked the appointment online I chose their premium bath which included a hair trim and I requested a deshedding for our great pyr. I arrived at the pickup time I chose and my dogs were not ready. I was a bit annoyed I didn't receive a phone call informing me of that it would be longer but they told me one more hour. They did call when they were done but told me my dogs were not dry all the way and it would take forever if they tried to fully dry them. When I picked up my dogs they were damp and smelled like wet dog, neither got a hair trim. I paid and took my wet dogs home and took this experience as a learning one. I am used to my boys smelling amazing and coats being so soft. my previous groomer never had a problem drying them all the way. Which leads me to believe this place isn't equipped for large dogs and also that they don't read the details from their web appointments very well. Like I said the website is awesome and the employees were nice but paying 130.00 for my dogs to come home frizzy, wet and smelly is very disappointing. read more

Our pups love Puppywood. They go for daycare when I have a long day, or for a treat when the weather is bad and they need a romp with other dogs. They used to have a very nice groomer we liked but she left to help her elderly family member out. I hope they find another good groomer because it was super-convenient to double up grooming sessions with playtime! read more

Our pup has been coming to Puppywood for over a year now and I cannot praise them enough. We have utilized both daycare services as well as overnight stays/boarding and have been very pleased. A few highlights: - They take excellent care of our boy. The staff almost always have some feedback on how he did, and even told me several times that he didn't drink much water during the day. - They really care about all of the dogs. Our dog is distrusting of people he doesn't know, but he gets so excited to come and see his human friends. - They supervise effectively. Our dog sometimes goes a little crazy over poop (I know, it's gross). PW staff will put him on a short break if necessary, which I support, but will not leave him in break for hours. Also, if you are going to board your dog, don't bring any sentimental items or things you don't want destroyed. Our dog's stuff always comes back very smelly and/or worse for the wear, but this is expected and just tells us that he had a great time while we were gone. Overall, I cannot say enough positive things about Puppywood and its staff. read more

Get in the car, she said. We'll go see Daddy, she said. Big deal. I used to think hanging out with Dad was the coolest thing ever. That was before I went to the happiest place I've ever been in my whole 14 months of life.......PUPPYWOOD! Maybe if I play dumb, just sit and look around pretending I forgot how to get in the car......but no. She forced me in. I call parental abduction. She tells me we HAVE to leave because Puppywood closes at 8 p.m., but she can't fool me. I KNOW there are sleepovers going on in there. So we go home, and for the first time I trudge into the house instead of running like a bat outta hell. You must be really tired, she says. Yeah, that's it. Tired. I WAS worn out, but in a good way. I played so hard! Puppywood is the only place I've ever been where all the people know what's most important in life: dogs having a great time. That night they say stuff like You don't think he's depressed because he had to come home, do you? I don't want to hurt their feelings so I keep quiet. The next morning I thought it had all been a beautiful dream. They were both home so I had to stay home too. BUT the next day.....it wasn't a dream! Puppywood really exists! They took me back! You have to understand I'm an extrovert--I love being with other canines. But my only siblings at home are 3 felines who run away when I try to play with them. Mom said she watched me on the webcam and she was very impressed that when a bigger German Shepherd looked like he might be playing too rough with me, one of the enlightened humans immediately came over to make sure I was okay. I was. I can play with the big boys. She also said it looked like I was behaving myself. Dad said He's being good at home too; do they train them there? Or is he behaving so he'll get to go back? Mom said the people at Puppywood must be very experienced with dogs, and I might be learning from my compadres as well. They're not as dumb as they look. Although it did take them a year to stop trying to home-school me and figure out I'd learn better from my own kind. If I do something socially inappropriate, the Puppywood OGs take me aside and say Dude, not cool. And I stop. I finally got a sleepover! It was the most funnest thing ever! I have to practice not looking disappointed when the folks pick me up. They're doing their best. They can't help it that NOTHING they do can compare to the pure joyful bliss, the paradise of Puppywood. Love, Buzz read more

I cannot give this establishment enough praise. My dog goes berserk as soon as we pull into the parking lot because she is so excited. The staff here are so courteous and professional. I know she is well cared for. She actually seems sad when I come to pick her up because she enjoys the place so much. I have only used Puppywood for daycare, but will not think of another place if I ever need boarding services. And they have a neat feature where you can watch your dog by webcam. Kind of fun to check in and watch the dogs play. read more

Puppywood is AMAZING. Absolutely the best place we have ever taken our dog for daycare. We've been taking her here for about a year at least once a week, and she absolutely loves it. The staff is so friendly and supportive, always happy to see your pet and they make a point of telling you things that have happened during the day. I really feel our dog is loved and well-cared for by the staff here, and cannot recommend them highly enough. We've also boarded her here when needed, and they do so much to make sure she's comfortable and gets plenty of attention. Puppywood is as good as it gets!! read more

I will not be returning to Puppywood Pet Resort. We have used Puppywood in the past without issue, so since my house sitter wasn't available, I thought Puppywood would not be an issue. When I dropped my two dogs off the young woman behind the counter didn't really seem all that interested in being there, but thought "it's a Friday and she looks like she's had a rough day." (it was 0930) We checked daily on the pups via the webcam and always only ever saw the older dog, but thought maybe the other dog was off camera playing with another dog. When I picked up the dogs, the young lady that went to retrieve them, I could hear yelling and banging on something through the door from the lobby to the kennel telling the dogs to "shut up". Then, when she brought the dogs up, she said "oh and Riley hasn't eaten and has been throwing up." Ummmmm...is there a reason you didn't contact me? Riley has Addison's Disease!! We took them home to Riley shaking and being pretty much unresponsive, which led to a $400 MedVet visit and another followup visit to our vet because he still wasn't eating 3 days later. My vet stated that even though Riley's labs were stable, the only thing that could cause this was the medication that he was on was either not given properly or not given at all. Puppywood was great last time, but it seemed like the staff was much more intuned to want to be there. I felt like this time the staff was just there to collect a paycheck and nothing more. read more

I really am impressed with his place--super sweet staff, clean, and professional, I'd leave my dog here again anytime. You can tell they really love dogs, and unlike a lot of other places, are nice to humans too. It's a great value, and the puppy cam is awesome when you're on vacay missing your best friend. I brought my pup here for a weeks stay last summer and it was a positive experience. She was a rescue so I especially appreciated that there are not cages here but cheerful private rooms for sleeping alone on my pups bed at night. I also love that daycare is included. So she got some alone time to rest and was in a well managed and not overcrowded group environment for daytime socialization. They have daycare indoor and outdoor space and separate rooms for dogs by size and age. We loved checking the videos to see how she was doing. It was a very positive experience. read more

Took my pup here for the first time today and I am extremely pleased! Staff was warm and welcoming and gave me my first day of daycare free-no strings attached. We went out of town and had Puppywood Anderson watch our 2 dogs for a few days until our friend could pick them up. One of our dogs gets an allergy shot every week. Not inexpensive either. It's $180 for a refill. We had just had it filled prior to their visit. When we dropped them off, we said and I quote "when our friend picks them up, can you give the medicine to her?" And we were met with "Sure thing. Worst case if it's not picked up then, we can keep it in the fridge until you get back to pick it up when you return." Well our friend picked the dogs up, she was told the medicine was in the bag (it wasn't...), at which point our friend told us but we didn't think to call then when we were still out of town since they had already told us they would keep it in the fridge. Upon returning I called Puppywood and was told the medicine wasn't there. So I can only guess they threw out a full vial instead of calling us to ask since her name was on the freaking thing. I argued and was told that the best they could do was a $69 account credit on the account. So we just had to do a refill and pay $180 again even though it was a full vial when we gave it to them. My dogs will never step foot in there again so considering we have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars over the last 3 years, Puppywoods management are a bunch of morons to not do the right thing to retain a customer when their staff screwed up in the first place. read more

NEVER LEAVE YOUR DOG HERE! We paid $330 for both our dogs to stay for a few days while traveling. We called and checked in on them multiple times as it was one of our dog's first time being boarded. They told us each time we called they were doing great, "just ate and were playing"... fast forward to pick up day and the dogs reeked of urine, their fur covered in it. I was told neither dog ate in 4 days, so they "might be hungry". They tried other food types with one but not the other since we brought food for her ( with it being her first time we weren't sure that she would like the food). No mention of this on our check in calls! The dogs came home and were exhausted, still had no appetite and our first-timer, has now come down with a fever, and fluid in her lungs. Vet states it's good she was vaccinated and brought in early, as it could have gotten much worse. She now is on antibiotics. So if you want to pay $330 for your dog starve and lay in it's own urine and get a potentially serious infection... go to Puppywood. If I could give zero stars I would. read more
