DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! Bought puppy, and she had parasites. If you want a dog that has parasites I suggest you buy a rescue/humane society, it would be a much cheaper dog. Absolutely crazy that you would buy a puppy from a store that "carry only the cutest, happiest puppies for sale from the most reputable breeders" that on their website claims "Our puppies receive weekly veterinarian examinations." and yet at our first vet appt mine had parasites. Additionally, after we paid for the puppy the store clerk, gave her a vaccination, not a vet a like 20 year old cashier. The whole experience was strange and seemed wrong. I would definitely look elsewhere for a healthier puppy and better experience. read more

Went to puppy world on valentines day. Just to play with all the puppy's. And ended up getting a little fur baby of our own. She stole our hearts the minute the worker put her in my arms. Se we just lost our sweet madison and was looking for a fur baby to fill that spot in our hearts. I gave up looking after 4 months after madison passing. But on valentines day I told my husband I wanted to go play with some puppy's. We played with all the puppy's that were out playing on the floor. When it was like a neon sign that hit me in the face and I was drawn to her. I asked the clerk if I could see her and she said yes. After spending some time with her. I finally got the courage to ask what was her adoption fee. It turns out that if you donated some cleaning supplies they would take $50.00 off her fee. And the clerk said would you like to donate to the wisconsin humane society. I said yes we always try to donated when we can. So the clerk said there is 2 option. Option 1 is $50.00 donation and they would take 25%off the fee option 2 was $100.00 donation would take 50% off the Fee so we went with option 2. To help all the fur baby's. Once we were done they also had a special that you get a creat for the puppy and dog bowls and food alone with treats and some other stuff. All together with the donation and all the supplies and the fur baby it was less then what you could get at haws or the humane society. If you think you can't find your fur baby just go to puppy world and play with the puppy's and don't be afraid to ask about any special events they are doing. If it wasn't for puppy world I wouldn't have Sabrina today love her so much. read more

I have a 8 month old puppy that I bought from here when she was 8 weeks. My dog is beautiful but I wish I knew more about the breeder that Puppyworld got her from before I signed the papers. I looked up the breeder named Atlee Yoder that they listed on my puppy's papers. Apparently many of the puppy mill breeders are Amish who never let the dog out of their tiny cages, and who don't do any genetic testing for diseases. When I first got my puppy I took her in to the vet. She had a bad ear infection and I paid $200 on her first visit for meds (2 meds that I gave her twice a day everyday for. The vet also suspected parvo at the time because she was unusually lethargic, but she turned out okay. I had a hard time bonding with her the first few weeks because I was scared she had parvo, and I was doubting my decision to get a puppy from a puppy store. It took a toll on me. My baby is okay now, but if you were like me and had a lot of doubt, I recommend just searching up a breeder you trust, and getting lots of videos and photos from them. That way you won't be scared to bond with your baby, and you can be confident that you have a healthy pup who will be with you for 10+ years. UPDATE**** Just got a call that the location where my puppy was breed had an outbreak of canine brucellosis, a canine disease that can humans can catch. Don't buy from here. HIGHLY ADVISE NOT TO BUY FROM HERE. My puppy has been ordered to be put on quarantine for almost 2 months from the Wisconsin department of agriculture until he gets 2 negative tests from the vet that I will have to take him to. I bought a puppy from them on Saturday August 2nd and by Thursday the 6th my puppy was vomiting and had diarrhea. Since it's a big adjustment for a puppy I thought maybe it was his food or just a new surround stressing him out and we had a Vet check up on Saturday the 8th. When we arrived to the Vet the doctor came out and we told her his symptoms. She said we should immediately take him to an Emergency Vet because she was worried about him having Parvovirus. When we arrived to the ER they did the test and it came back positive, at that time we tried to call the Emergency number that Puppy World had given us, it sent us straight to voicemail twice. We then tried to contact the store directly and a manager was "too busy" to even come on the phon to help us through this terrifying moment. The Emergency Vet said that the incubation period for Parvovirus is 7-10 days, meaning he contracted it from Puppy World since we did not even have him a week. Puppy World refused to compensate us s or help us with the medical fees because "even though we aren't a vet we can still take care of him" and "we don't have IV hookups but we have syringes here". And they said that sometimes when they give the dogs the vaccine for Parvovirus that they will show symptoms which my Emergency Vet said is UNTRUE. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT get your puppy from here! Luckily my little guy got the help he needed from the Emergency Vet bu I would hate for anyone else to have to go through what I did. read more

I have only good things to say about puppy world, I feel bad for the other reviewers who stated they got a sick puppy or etc.. I can't speak on their behalf only based on my experience. First not all pet stores go through puppy mills, second you can't get a sick puppy from a breeder as you can a pet store, I've seen it happen. We purchased our dog bear, from puppy world in Aug 2015, he came with all his vet papers, shots, parents info, and breeder info, the puppies also come with warranty info. Everyone there was very friendly and knowledgeable. Bear is now nine months old and and we have never had issues with him as far as health wise. He was seen at a vet the first week we got him and was given a clean bill of health and has brought nothing but joy to my family. The only negatives I have was the inside of the place was old and outdated, and the price of the dogs were a little steep other than overall great experience! read more

My husband I bought a beautiful little fur baby there . She was wonderful healthy dog always , recently we had say good by to her . She would have been 14 years old , that is more then we could have asked for . I had a friend that bought her dog for a breeder & she did her research & believe me about the breeder too . Shorty after bringing her home it got so sick , it cost over 4,000 at vet , she was really sick and almost died . She paid over 1,000 for baby ,she had to fight with breeder to get only half her money back . The dog not is still not heathy . This her second dog she has purchased from a breeder ( different breeders)too. The first dog had health issue too !!! She had two dogs to my one dog the I bought mine at Puppy World . So you just never know but my experience was wonderful . Plan on going back to get another fur baby when we are really . They have not done so but instead, hosted a Valentines Day super sale to move all remaining puppies quickly. We were basically told it was our problem and if we wanted a refund we should wait till the dog dies and have an autopsy done at our expense($800) and they might, MIGHT give us an in store credit. Terrible We recently entered the store and spoke to assistant manager ( thank you to Greenfield Police Department for the stand by) whom stated that the dog either contracted parvo from the immunizations(which there is no record of) or....... the AIR! Seriously, the AIR!!! This lady is a daft, unemotional know it all and I am certainly glad STUPID is not contracted by AIR . And still, they could not produce a CVI. We have contacted the Department of Agriculture and issued a complaint on violation of terms (no CVI produced) , welfare of animals and health risk. Still, we have no refund and the assistant manager told us Parvo is "totally treatable." Ask our dog who lost a third of its body weight from irretractable vomiting and explosive bloody diarrhea, was given IV Dextrose 5% SO HE WOULD NOT HAVE A HYPOGLYCEMIC SEZIURE. Empiric antibiotics so his immune system could have a fighting chance as the disease attacks bone marrow and suppresses the production of WBC's. Methadone was given for pain, NG tube placed to remove the build up of bile and hopefully protect his gut and give him some protein so he would not third space an then develop a pneumonia . We elected to let the dog pass pain free and peaceful by euthanasia. Our two children have been so traumatized by the event, the do not want another puppy because they are afraid the puppy will spray blood out of his bottom again and die. We could not afford the cremation and elected to try and bury dog in our backyard. Ground is frozen, impossible and the poor dogs body smells so foul already from the virus effects. For two months I tried contacting him, he said that the phone wasnt working. Thats funny because it rings and has a voicemail,so??? Finally, I FORCED them to MAKE him call me. I asked if I can have pictures of our dog's parents. He said "I have no way of sending pictures",then I proceeded to ask if we can visit to see them , he told us no because he doesnt want people bringing in germs to the dogs ..lmfao!!! Really,thats THE best excuse you could come up with! And besides,we dont have to touch nor pet them, we can stand in front of them and look at them and the conditions that they are in! The staff was horrendous. We were extremely interested in buying a puppy however they had no interest in trying to pair a dog with our lifestyle. The staff is unprofessional and yell across the floor while their boss is on her cellphone the entire time. Purchased a Keeshond here in 2001. Thought he was healthy but 4 years later he died of a genetic defect that a REPUTABLE breeder would have tested for in this breed. Obviously they get puppies from breeders who don't check for deadly genetic defects in their breeding dogs. Sadly I didn't realize this until very recently (last few months) when researching Keeshonden again. In February 2017 we purchased a Newfoundland here. Assured he was healthy etc only to take him to OUR vet the very next day for a checkup and because he was coughing...and find out he was positive for kennel cough and giardia. Treatment took several weeks and he is healthy now but I worry constantly about genetic defects he may have that were never tested for in his parents (see above, from our experience and recent realization with the Keeshond). I will never return and have 'woken up' to realize that if we add more fur babies to our family we will either adopt or go directly through reputable breeders. I was in the store with my girlfriend today when a large, white windowless van pulled up and out stepped an elder person with armfuls of puppies--from a mill I am only assuming. Not only the a load of puppies being dropped off had me thrown off-guard, but the lack of compassion for the puppies held behind the glass doors was horrendous (some without food and water dishes!) I understand it is the holiday season, however this is simply unacceptable and the last time I will ever patronize or recommend this business. To anyone considering buying a puppy . I have bought a puppy from here 2 different times. Each time I was dealt with in a very nice manner. The 1st one was what they refer to as a "Teddy". When I took him to my vet and they checked him, I was told he was in very good health and as I continued to own him, he was in very good health. He adjusted well to the 2 cats I owned and they adjusted to him. Then in May of 2014 I purchased another puppy. She was a mixture of cocker spaniel / black labrador from her mother and Border Collie from her father. Again I was treated very nicely and again when I took her to my vet they told me she is a healthy puppy and a real cutie . I bought her at 8 weeks of age just as I had of the previous one and I have to say she has been the sweetest dog, she will be going on 3yrs old and Never has she growled or snarled at me. She is very affectionate and obedient. She is house trained and she is extremely quiet even from the 1st day I brought her home. I expected because she was away from her many siblings she would naturally whimper an whine throughout the night but much to my surprise she never did and she has remained to be silent when I put her in her cage at night to sleep. She is great with little children and adults. I have been one of the fortunate buyers who has never had 1 problem with the people at Puppy World. I got all of the paper work and it showed where she came from and it showed her medical records. All of the above reasons is why I gave them a 5 star rating. I hope if you decide to buy a puppy, your dealing with them will be as good as mine has been and I wish you much happiness with your new puppy. Ps. Every time I have been there it has always been very clean and if a puppy had an accident, it was cleaned up immediately and I watched them do the cleaning and it smelled very clean an pleasant. She came home extremely sick and frightened, it cost us $800 in vet bills just to have her healthy again and it took two weeks for her to trust us. Puppy world told us it was common for dogs to get sick at the shop and that we can bring her back and swap her for another dog! Yer ok? Not! We then did research to find out where she was from. Ofcourse puppy world wouldn't release any information but it didn't take much research to see our little ball of fluff was in fact from a puppy mill. My husband and I visited Puppyworld for the first time today. We decided not to adopt while we were there, so I can't speak to the actual adoption process. This is why I'm not giving them the 4 star rating I might otherwise - I feel as if I don't have enough information about them to give a comprehensive review. First, I'd like to speak about the puppy mill controversy that surrounds this business. I don't think that Puppyworld has anything to do with puppy mills for one main reason: there are no pure bred dogs available for adoption there! I looked for purebreds, but literally every dog in the place was a mixed breed dog, and many dogs were unusual mixes, like "Schnoodles" (schnauzer poodles), and Australian/German Shepherd mixes. They even had a kitten up for adoption. This makes me believe that more than anything, Puppyworld gets its puppies donated or sold to them from private owners whose dogs have had accidental litters; NOT from puppy mills, which deal exclusively in selling purebreds. That would also speak to the ambiguity the business apparently has when it comes to revealing the original homes of their puppies - they come from all over the place, probably, and from private owners who aren't interested in the obligation of answering questions about the puppies they wish they hadn't had to deal with in the first place. Onto the experience of going to Puppyworld. It's such a great place to visit if you are thinking about getting a puppy! Unlike humane societies in the area, you can easily interact with any puppies you wish. When we visited, there were 8 puppies running around the storefront inside gates, and you could pick one up and play with it if you desired. There was also a room full of kennels that were occupied with resting puppies, and if you wanted to meet one of them all you had to do was ask. This was cool, because it gave us an opportunity to bond with a potential new member of the family! There were also reasonably priced toys and puppy supplies for sale all over the place. The bathrooms left a little to be desired, and the place was a bit dusty and stinky, but in a store such as this it'd be a constant uphill battle to keep the place spotless - puppies just have accidents! The staff had a mop and bucket at the ready in order to wipe up any messes as quickly as possible. But I recommend not wearing sandals to the store, just in case :) I don't believe the puppies have been given shots or been de-wormed, etc., but I'm not 100% sure of this. It might be different from puppy to puppy. I'd suggest simply asking the store associates upfront, because that will help you make your decision right away: puppies are expensive investments no matter what, but if you can find one that has had some shots completed it will save you an expense down the line. One more tip: Puppyworld is full to the rafters of actual puppies - I didn't see any older dogs for sale. Most were probably between 8-10 weeks old. So if you're in it for the long haul and want to save a sweet puppy, this is the place for you! Here's hoping you'll find your next best friend! read more

I have bred and raised Golden Retrievers for the past 30 years, so I stopped by today to see if they had any, as mine is "getting there" so I'm shopping around .they had an adorable female, but when she told me the price I almost fell over.......$1,900.00 ? OMG, and not A.K.C. purebred registered? ( This is a purebred.) I can buy pet quality or show quality from quality breeders for that, although they will not allow you to breed their puppies for fear of in or out breeding (which is wise). If you want a mixed breed go to the humane society for $200-300. They are spayed/neutered with all their shots included. The store was clean, sales girls nice and of course puppies adorable,but prices outrageous. read more

When searching for a good deal on a pup do not ever go to this place! They are scammers, and are very stingy when it comes to prices on their pups. Wish I would have read reviews about this place before I bought my pup. Would have never bought one from them from the beginning. My family went here today, and although we did not buy a puppy, this place deserves high remarks! From the moment we walked in the door, the place smelled so clean! The puppies were randomly taken out of their cages and given playtime in the puppy pens. Each time the puppies pee'd on the floor, it was immediately mopped up with a bleach mop. Hence the clean smell from when we first walked in. The girls were very imformative about the puppies: shots, breeder, age, etc. were given on demand. They had purebreds and mixed breeds. The puppy I was interested in came from a reputable breeder that I googled right in front of the employee. The prices were half of other local pet "stores" within a 50 mile drive. The health guarantee does not require anyone to buy their food. There was no pressure to buy any of their supplies. Three puppies were bought in the hour I was there. No pressure sales pitches either. I had a good experience here. Good feeling about this store, despite the negative reviews. I will definately drive the 45 minutes here again until I find the puppy my family bonds with. read more

Do not go here, they charge WAY too much for the puppies and do not supply the background information for those puppies which probably implies they are from less than reputable breeders or puppy mills. Wish you could give negative stars! Stupidly bought a puppy here, a beautifle white german shepherd puppy. We were concerned about prey drive as we already have smaller dogs. Was assured repeatedly that would not be a problem, since the puppy was growing up with the pack, she would fall into place. Unfortunately they obviously would tell you the dog could fly and give you a convincing argument and story to go with it. My fault for listening. At 5 months the puppy started getting influenced by her hormones, and the fights began. She started stalking and attacking one of the other dogs. She became relentless, a fight every other day. 45 pounds is lot of dog trying to kill a 20 pound shetland sheep dog. After going through the paperwork received with the puppy, she was taken from the mother way to early. Only 8 weeks when we got her, and she had been there for a week. When it became obvious that we had a serious problem, made a call to seek guidance to the store. No one was available to talk and was promised a call the next morning from a manager. Not surprisingly no call. As soon as it started happening, we brought in a trainer. Everyone that we discussed the problem with, vet, trainer, and a few people we know well who know dogs, advised to rehome her before one of our other dogs got killed. It broke our hearts to rehome her, but for the safety of everyone, we had no choice. Toughest decision of our lives. The best description of the information as given to us from the sales people at Puppyworld is equivalent to a used car salesman's spiel, lie, cheat, anything to make the sale. Lying is standard operating procedure. If you are interested in a puppy, find a reputable breeder. Don't fall for the lies and cons they spew. We miss that dog every day and are having a very difficult time forgiving ourselves for what happened. read more

*******************DO NOT FINANCE A PUPPY FROM THIS PLACE ******************** March 2015 we purchased a wonderful loving puppy from puppy world, we took her to our Vet to do a wellness check. Doctor said she is happy and healthy!! Great news!!! Very sorry for those that have had health issues with your babies purchased from Puppy World. Over time we had searched many options looking for a good fit in a puppy! We had full intentions to adopt and would've had we found "the one" We did consider the puppy mill problems and lack of care for precious babies, in the end we decided all puppies need love! We walked into puppy world and found "the one" we fell in love. We started asking questions one of which is price. WOW...very pricey!! But again all puppies need love! We did not have access to that much money at the time. They offered financing through flex pay. With a bit shaky credit we decided to take a look at the terms. The price with interest was very high but we decided it would work. She is worth every penny!! We paid the down payment and signed up for 12 monthly payments at a set price. The contract clearly states all the information we agreed to. About a month later we noticed are loan is now with Monterey Financial Services. No problem, at least at the time, auto withdraw was setup monthly for the agreed amount the payments were taken, we thought we're getting this paid down! October 2015 payment was not taken from our account I called to ask if there was a problem. I was told the payment is now late and we owe the payment plus all fees. I agreed the payment was due but the fact the auto payment was not taken by no fault on our end, That is where it all started to become clear were in trouble with this shady company, I asked several times, by phone, email, and letter. To find out my payoff amount. Somehow we owe more now in August 2017 than in March 2015. THEY WILL NOT TELL ME WHY! THEY WILL NOT PROVIDE A CONTRACT STATING THE REASON WE THEY FEEL WE OWE MORE MONEY! Because we do not owe more! MY CREDIT IS NOW AFFECTED. So where do we go now? I went to puppy world to ask for any help to deal with this company. They seriously said if you don't pay off the loan within 15min of signing the contract this company (Monterey Financial, remember our loan was not signed with them. Was flex pay) the interest rate will double!!!!! I was shocked!!! She said we should've been told this YOU THINK??? I was very upset and told the people puppy searching at the time DO NOT FINANCE AS STATED WHY.... The two employees were laughing! We purchased two puppies form Puppy World back in October. The establishment seemed nice and clean. They were very friendly and willing to work on us with prices. One question was asked as to how they obtain the puppies and the question was answered with, a private breeder of which they know the name. After purchasing the puppies on the integrity of their business principle of "we'd never buy from a puppy mill", we brought home two happy puppies with the crates and cages that they provided to us within the cost. They gave us two collars, two leashes, two cages, food bowls, and some toys. Upon further investigation on the breeder information, the breeder name was Heritage Puppies. Immediately my suspicion arose that in fact these were puppies from puppy mills. However, they adamantly denied this and claimed they brought from private local breeders. A 2009 Investigation done by the Humane Society of America in fact shows that Heritage Puppy is in fact a puppy mill. The Wisconsin Puppy Mill project also supports this claim. As of last night, we are now down to one puppy. The small Pomeranian mix managed to tangle his collar onto the cage, of which they both provided to us, and suffocated himself. We tried to resuscitate him with CPR and mouth to mouth but to no avail. We had expressed in the beginning of the purchase that we had never owned a small puppy and we asked as many questions as possible about taking care of this new pup both mentally and physically. We failed to protect him against the products provided by Puppy World. One of the workers behind the counter told us that all the collars that they sell on a wall were in fact breakaway collars. Another lie by Puppy world as I have now buried our 2 month old Pomeranian of which my wife is devastated from. Puppy world failed to provide us with this knowledge of their product and the safety hazard provided with wearing their supposedly break away collars, which are in fact, snap on collars and in no way represent a break away collar. We went in there today to find some remedy to our problem of losing this puppy with their products. They preceded to tell us that it was common sense not to do that, which if it were common sense, why was it not disclosed at purchase when we revealed we were new to puppies. They offered us $200 off on a new puppy and said it was a learning lesson on losing the Pomeranian. Such disregard for an animals life was displayed at Puppy World. I am a US Veteran with 2 deployments within my career and I have never been more disgusted in a person's disregard for any type of life. We discussed with them in person today a refund for a new puppy. They claimed it was an accidental death and that they would not provide us with a new puppy, but merely a discount. Their "break-away" collar, which is not, and their cages has caused my wife and I severe emotional distress as a result of trying to perform CPR and mouth to mouth on the Pomeranian. They claimed they told us about the hazard and of which i disclosed their other lie of puppies they sell coming from a puppy mill. They adamantly denied the fact but the breeder information shows Heritage Puppies of Iowa and two investigations show by Puppy mill project and Humane Society of America show it is in fact a puppy mill. Their false advertising led us to purchase not one but 2 dogs from them. We would never purchase from a puppy mill or its brokers had we been told the truth. I understand that the dogs death was accidental but they provided us with the cages and collars, which they claimed was break-away, and failed to provide us with safety hazards of their products. The end result in our conversation today was telling them I would be contacting the BBB and my attorney for their false advertising and complete lack of regard for canine life. I also informed them that I would not be purchasing any dogs from them again, to which their answer was "well look how many have you bought from us already". Puppy World shows complete disregard for canine life, false advertisement and lying to its customers and completely unsatisfactory customer service. Their reputation within Milwaukee is warranted and I had wish I had done research on this terrible business before hand. I am contacting the BBB to make sure that more people do not go through what we have experienced nor the countless others they have lied to and caused emotional harm. We would like to not contact our attorney and just receive a refund for the lies they told us equaling $900. If such a refund can not be agreed to, we informed them that we will be contacting our attorney. read more

This place is horrible! Recently bought an Aussie puppy from them. He had round worm and a bacterial infection. By the 5th day we had to take him to the ER per the VET puppy world recommended to find out he was running 105 degree temp. Then when we finally get him back from puppy world he has kennel cough and gives it to our other dog. $1200 later in medical bills he is finally ok. Figure we would get some reimbursement from them since we did everything they told us to but all they offered was $120 in store credit! We are over $2000 into this puppy and they offer $120 to spend in there infested store! No thank you they can keep it! We bought a mixed breed puppy in March at 8 weeks and this is by far the best and smartest dog we have had. When you buy a puppy, you need to do your homework. Find out the best breed for your family and activities. Really look at the puppy you are buying....how they walk, how are their ears, look at their pads, are their eyes bright and free of discharge, just everything. Does the dog have a disposition that's good for you? I think more times than not, people make bad decisions and try to blame other people. I am not saying that there aren't sick dogs that can come out of this store by any means (I have no clue - it unfortunately happens), but even breeders have issues. We got our last dog from an incredibly reputable breeder and she had extreme anxiety, wasn't good around any other dogs (and her breed was supposed to love everyone), she had seizures and finally passed from a seizure at 12, so we went to Puppy World just for fun, really. The dog that passed was a big dog and we also have a chiweenie, so we were going to get another small dog for her. We saw our dog and both my husband and I immediately knew this was the one for us and we were right. She's already potty trained, knows how to sit and stay, great with kids, clean bill of health.
