This is a review for the summer camp, only, where my seven-year-old Onondaga Chief has been going…read morefor two years in a row. Adam Wallach and Ken Barer do an incredible job of running the camp, marketing it, communicating with parents, rallying kids for weekly spirit days -- and generally rockin' it. The kids swim twice day and are given just the right amount of freedom for their age. My guy was thrilled to ride his bike around on trails independently (without a grownup following closely) in mountain biking. Picky eater though he is, he seems to eat decently well, carbo-loading every day at lunch. Kids get occasional treats like fruit sushi, which the kids get to make themselves, trips to an ice cream truck, and cold (not-too-unhealthy) popsicles in the afternoon. Our guy kept telling us about eating fresh strawberries at lunchtime that were picked, he said, from the camp's own strawberry patch. (I can't verify this claim; it did seem like it'd take an improbably long growing season and an awfully, awfully large patch of strawberries to supply all those hungry kids for the summer.) Counselors keep the kids hydrated in the heat, buses are shockingly timely (MTA should take note!). Bus counselors do a great job of communicating bus arrival times. Activities are varied and interesting, including options like "mining," water works, pottery, archery, crafts, farming(!), all manner of sports (tennis, soccer, baseball, etc..) -- and there is always something new going on. My guy was excited to go from the moment he woke up each morning. Yes, the camp is guilty of blatant cultural appropriation -- but we get that at this point, there's monetary value in the branding that makes change difficult. At least they're changing the logo in coming years. We'd be thrilled if they actually taught the kids a bit about the tribes of the Haudenosaunee / Iroquois Confederacy that the groups are named after. (Our son reports that there is some sort of small "museum" on the grounds with a few artifacts found on-site.) We did some of our own research. All in all a fabulous, fun way to spend the summer. Our guy is counting the years until he gets to be a counselor himself.

A great place for kids to spend the summer. The communication is top notch! They built their own app to share photos and for parents to talk directly with the counselors during the summer. Plus, there is a preschool during the year. What a GREAT place!

As working parents, we were eager to find the best care for her during the day. (Due to Covid, finding in-home care was challenging, so we had to look for daycares.) After extensive research- we enrolled our daughter here and could not be more pleased that we did! The hours are amazing and flexible. The teachers are an absolute joy and it is obvious how much they love each child. We get pictures throughout the day, and they also let us know which skills they are focusing on during their daily activities. We have an app that allows us to communicate with the teachers. This is where we can request they focus on a specific developmental need (more tummy time, etc), and inform them of anything they should be aware of (like teething or a rough night sleeping). No matter what time of day we pick our daughter up, we always are thrilled with what we see when we peek through the door. It is also great seeing every teacher in the school greet our daughter by name even if she is not in their classroom specifically.

Leah, the director, and the whole team at KA made her adjustment incredibly smooth. Our daughter loved all the teachers and staff at the facility, which always felt well-kept, clean, and airy. The daily reports and photos are great, and as parents we always felt informed through emails, newsletters, and phone calls. At pick-up time, teachers would always take a minute to talk about how the day went. Everyone is so kind. The large parking lot is a bonus. There's no stressing about traffic or double-parking at the start or end of the day. We took our daughter out after five months but only because of lots of family engagements that would've kept her out anyway. We wouldn't hesitate to go back in the future.

He has studied Film and Code and his favorite electives have been Ukelele and Comedy Improv. The counselors are all incredible - my son talks about them like they are his brothers. This is exactly the kind of camp where smart, shy kids thrive. The overnight accommodations were better than my college experience. (Private bathroom!) The most amazing thing, however, is how much he learns each week that he's there. Steven and his staff have managed to create a curriculum that keeps the kids challenged and smiling the whole week, with fun evening activities to prevent burnout. I wish I was young enough to go to SummerTech.

He loves working with computers and learning coding and the fact that they do go outside and get physical for a few hours a day. The part he loves best is he says no one is judging each other about who is cool or athletic or smart. They are just a bunch of "computer nerds" having a good time and learning. We drop him off at 8 am and pick him up at 830 pm and he doesn't want to leave. The only reason he comes home and does not sleep over is that he doesn't really care for the food. He was able to take a high school online coding class in 7th grade and aced it after 2 weeks of coding the previous summer. He plans to go back every summer for years to come.
