NYS lists them as "pending revocation" since December 2018. They are up for renewal in October 2019. I know from our own experience that it can be hard to find quality care, but please do your diligence before enrolling here or continuing to entrust this facility with the welfare of your children. My son was badly injured at this facility and they did not seek urgent medical care. We've taken our story to the press to make sure parents in the local community were made aware. A simple Google search of this facility will show you the full story, covered by WCBS, NY Post, USA Today, Journal News/LoHud, News12, HLN, and several more. My sons accident uncovered a sad reality - this facility had been operating all year with over 30 violations against it. We had no idea. I've since become very familiar with how to view daycare violations on OCFS.com. As of January 4th, 7th and 8th of 2019, the state of New York logged even more violations against TLE Dobbs Ferry. They now total to 83 violations. In my quest to find new daycare for my son, it appears most daycare centers in our area don't have more than 5 violations over the span of several years, some which have been in operation for 20+ years. Compare that to 83 violations at this facility from November 2017-January 2019. They should be ashamed of themselves. I wish we had known about these violations sooner. We would have removed my son from the program immediately. Since we've spoken to the press, at least a dozen parents and former staff members have contacted my husband and I directly about their own negative experiences at this facility, ranging from injuries to their children requiring stitches and leaving scars; to a 4 year old child being called an "idiot" to her face by one of the head teachers; to another teacher telling the pre-K class about her brother in jail on a daily basis; to teachers being encouraged by management to manipulate the children's daily performance sheets to make it appear they are learning skills at a faster rate than they truly are. Ask yourself, would you want you child being watched by this facility? If you look up the violation history of this center at OCFS.com, you'll see they even failed to perform background checks on a number of the staff. I won't besmirch everyone at TLE Dobbs Ferry. My son had a few really great teachers who cared for him dearly in the 12 months he attended this facility. Unfortunately for my son, none of them were present when he was injured. Had even one of them been, I'd like to think his injury would have been handled better. Many of these teachers have since left TLE and gone on to better facilities. I can't encourage parents enough to do their homework. Please use the resources available by the state of New York and look up the violation history of any daycare facility you are considering for your child. You can also contact the Westchester Childcare Council for assistance. They will even perform a daycare search for you based on where you live, and will give you all the information you need on individual facilities.

We were very excited about Hudson Country Montessori School but left deeply disappointed in the…read moreteachers' and administration's tolerance of discriminatory and bigoted language used in the classroom including during class discussions. We raised concerns to the teachers and administration about a pattern of homophobic, racist, and anti-immigrant language being used at school including, at times, during classroom discussions in front of the teachers and were told that the classroom includes students with "differing beliefs" and that our child, who raised objections in some of these instances, needed to be coached at home to tolerate this discriminatory language at school in order to avoid conflict with classmates. We repeatedly explained that our concern was that the language being used in class was not a case of "differing beliefs" but bigoted and discriminatory language that specifically targeted protected groups based on race, religion, immigration status, and identity and that allowing it to continue created a hostile and toxic environment for students from any of those groups. To this, we were told directly and in writing by the head of school, "If every classroom moment is interpreted through the lens of potential third-party offense, classrooms can quickly become places of controversy rather than learning." We decided to withdraw our child's enrollment in the middle of the school year because, after this response from the head of school, the behavior continued in the classroom and we no longer felt it was a safe environment. If your child or family is part of any historically marginalized group, we would not recommend this school. They are able to speak very eloquently about their commitment to diversity and their mission to ensure that no student is targeted, excluded, or harmed based on race, religion, or identity -- but when it comes time to demonstrate that commitment they fall very, very short.

After spending 2 years in another Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 program, we sent our daughter to Hudson for…read morekindergarten. So far, she loves it and is thriving. We are also seeing positive behavioral changes with her at home. After only two months in the program, she is speaking about and demonstrating more physical organization. She is getting individuated attention for reading and math, which we love. She continues to be passionate about learning, and there is really nothing better! Being one of the older students in the classroom, she is also learning about leadership, and taking that home to model behavior for her younger sister as well. We are thrilled!

I was dreading the…read moreday that we had to drop our son off at daycare, but within even a week's time, I knew that he was in the right place. For starters, the facility is clean and inviting, but the staff and teachers make this place go round. Jade and Tarika are incredible directors. They are always available for a chat - about both good things and concerns - and take the time to get to know each child. They are also extremely vigilant about when a child might be sick, which I appreciate. Additionally, they are responsive via email. I know that if I have a quick question, they are ready, willing and able to help. Lastly, our son loves his teacher, Miss Gia! He has never cried once when we drop him off and a huge smile comes onto his face when we walk into his room! The kids are kept busy (we love the art projects that come home!) and are cared for well. All of the teachers there have really impressed me. Now really the last thing - there's an app that we follow along with each day. It logs everything that is going on with our child, which for a parent, is a god-send. And there are cute pictures sent throughout the day. When she enrolled last…read moreautumn, she had just turned 3, was still in pull-ups and had been pulled out of a Manhattan Montessori pre-k because in my husband's and my opinion, there was no progression or growth. In just 2 weeks at Harrison Children's Center, she was potty trained and by the end of that first month her vocabulary had trebled and continues to do so. The teachers, TAs and office staff could not have been more wonderful and supportive of my daughter and me during our transition from city to suburban life. In addition to a great nurturing environment, my daughter benefited from a curriculum and staff that really challenged and stretched her developing mind and growing set of social and life skills. The staff arranges class trips and family nights and the children go out for daily walks and there is outside play in their fenced-in and fully supervised playground almost everyday except in bad / rainy weather. The school serves cold breakfasts and hot lunches prepared by an in-house cook. My daughter has learned art, science, music, sign language and so much more. It's been a year now and I can honestly say that I have absolute trust in these people with the most precious person in my life. There is nothing bad to be said about this program or the fantastic team of people who work in making it all happen. Kudos to Debbie Imperia, the Director of HCC for her unflagging support for this mom with a daughter who manages to delight those around her even while trying their patience!
