Stay away from this place! I purchased a puppy from them and she has multiple health issues. Allergies, respiratory issues and Addison's Disease. This disease has and continues to cost us $$$$. My dog is on prednisone daily and injected with percotin v monthly ($700 a year for this one medication). We were told they had a litter to choose from but weren't able to see any but the one they brought out. She was our only option. You could hear puppies yelping in the basement. Four of my friends purchased puppies from this same place and all four dogs have health issues. Allergies, kidney disease/failure, Addison's, etc... Don't be fooled by their website and reviews, they run out of their house and you can hear tons of puppies/dogs barking or frying out for help from the basement. read more

After long hours of research on the internet for a Bichon Frise puppy, I came across Purdy Puppy. Out of all the breeders websites I came across, their website is the nicest, not out-dated and very rich with information. They have a long page called "Please read this before purchasing a puppy" which was really informative and to me showed that they care about where their puppies go. I reached out to Angie through e-mail, introducing my myself and my lifestyle. After a couple of e-mail exchanges, my boyfriend and I decided to go through with adopting a puppy from an upcoming litter. We drove to Angie's house to meet the father Bichon of the litter and to pay a deposit. The experience was really nice and Angie was really welcoming. A couple of weeks passed and we drove back to Angie's to pickup our puppy. The experience was really exciting and memorable. We also received our puppy's medical papers, pet insurance, care instructions, food, a toy and a bed. A day or two after we adopted our puppy, Angie reached out to us to see how everything was going. Being puppy-raising newbies my boyfriend & I reached out to Angie many times over the 10 months of having our puppy. She's always been very quick with e-mail responses and will sometimes call us. A bit about our puppy, her name is Blanche. She's a very happy and perky little thing. She is a social butterfly and gets so much attention everywhere we go. For times we've had to leave her at boarding, we get so many compliments when we pick her up. People saying she's a really nice and friendly dog. We had a wonderful experience with Purdy Puppy and highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about adopting a puppy. read more

Purdy Puppies not allowing potential adoptees free access to the living courters is worrisome. Wanting us to purchase a 2 month pup who won't or can't walk around, visibly shaking, not alert, and wimpering abnormally was disturbing. This pup was in no way, ready to leave his mom. Angie also told us that this puppy can stay in a cage all day while my daughter is at work. Never mind not asking how long that would be. I operated a Pet care business for over 15 years and can clearly see that this is only for business with no love and conscience of the pups state. I can go on but enough said. read more

3 years ago Purdy Puppies gave up an older coton to a rescue organization, presumably because he was too old for breeding and they no longer needed him. The woman who fostered him told me he arrived with multiple health issues and an inexplicable fear of people. I fell in love with him and brought him home. This dog that lived at Purdy Puppies for 7 years and used for breeding was terrified of everything. If I went to walk past him, he would run to the corner of the house, just from the sight of me lifting my foot near him. To this day he shakes uncontrollably at the sound of a squeaky toy. He has no idea how to play with toys. He has a weird habit of only pooping against objects, which a trainer told me suggests he was left to go to the bathroom in his cage and is used to trying to go in corners. All that to say, there was no doubt from the start that this dog had an extremely lonely and abusive life at Purdy Puppies. Another thing, I just went to their website to look at their breeder dogs. The picture of "Scooby" is actually a picture of my dog, who I adopted 3 years ago. I have the exact same picture of him in my phone. I have no idea what that means, but take what you will from the fact they don't post real pictures of their parent dogs. I wish there were someone who would investigate the living conditions of these poor animals. That said, my dog is wonderful and happy and loving and was very easy to train! Think twice about Purdy Puppies, consider a rescue instead. read more

We had inquired about a CAVAPOO puppy and they told us they would not have any for one year. They then called us a month later and said they had puppies. We were so excited that we sent them a $200. Deposit on a puppy. We then wanted to meet the puppy and chose from the litter and meet the parents and they kept avoiding and brushing off our inquires and cancelling our visiting times.. Everything started to seem very suspicious and we were then concerned that they were a puppy mill and just decided to cancel the whole thing!!! They said nothing and just kept our $200. Deposit!!! If you can't meet the puppies or the parents don't buy from these people!!! It was a very horrible experience ... All they care about is taking your money and who knows where their puppies come from ... We recommend not to buy a puppy at this place. read more

Unless one has proof that this is a puppy mill, one should be cautious as to what the write, as legal actions can be taken. People get on the web, and will write slanderous remarks without proof and or moral standards. In 2014 I received a 8 week old Shih Tzu, and she is healthy, intelligent and runs my life. One more thing: I received papers and records of shots. And had 72 hours in which to get her to a vet, to make sure she was healthy, or the insurance that came with her was void. You DO NOT get that with puppy mills. As with regards to whether or not they want to show the mother is the breeders choice. These people will not sell to the first one that comes along, as they want to know that puppies are going to a loving home. Some people however, are just too ignorant to understand that. And puppies are like humans, they progress at different rates. I received my Shih Tzu at 8 weeks, and she was just finding her legs and coordination. Since then, I have been in contact with these people, and they have given me guidance on certain issues. read more

I purchased a puppy from PurdyPuppy in Dec and my puppy has allergies issues. Been to the vet twice so far and he's only 6 months old. I've reached out to PurdyPuppy for parents background and they were extremely rude and disrespectful. Would not recommend them. Check out mini pups instead. read more

We purchased a puppy from Purdy Puppies almost 3 years ago and I can't even begin to say what a joy he's brought to our lives! Absolutely the best dog ever! I'm shocked that some reviews on here suggest that the quality of puppy you are receiving is sub-par. My sister was unfortunate enough to encounter a puppy mill dog she purchased over the Internet - arthritis, dislocated knee joints, ear infection, could barely walk - expense after expense. We were able to choose our puppy from the litter and he is perfectly healthy - and might I say incredibly handsome!! :D . I don't think you could find a single person who will say that they received an unhealthy puppy from this place. My wife and I lost our 12.5 year old shih Tzu about a year ago. When we went looking for another one we looked as local shelters, questionable breeders, outright internet scams, etc. And then, thankfully, we found Angie at Weylin Marsh. She answered all our questions in a knowledgable, polite and professional manner. She let us into her home to see the mother and the father of or new puppy. At 8 weeks, she allowed us to take home our adorable little puppy, with the record of all his shots and what was left to do to give to our own vet. We reported back to her a glowing report of Oscar's health from our vet within 72 hours to ensure us and her that all was well with our little Oscar. Since that time, we have kept in contact with Angie to report Oscar's progress, send her a few pictures, thank her for our little dog and ask her a few questions over time. She was always quick to respond to our questions, very helpful and thanked us for the updates. Based on what I saw of her operation, the health and cleanliness of her dogs was excellent and the information she presented to us that was very helpful and professional, I would highly recommend her as a quality dog breeder to purchase a puppy from. read more

While I love the dog I got from them five years ago, with research I learned after that they are just a puppy mill. Realized a month after I had my dog she is deaf, and just now at the vets discovered she has the start of cataracts (which with research I learned are inherited). At five!! This is not right. Please consider adopting a dog from a breed specific rescue of you want a certain kind of dog. There are many unwanted puppies out there too. If you support these breeders you allow them to keep breeding the poor parents and producing sick puppies. read more

I would not recommend this dog breeder to anyone she has promised me puppies on three occasions and has sold them on me on all three times. Angie has let me and my children down three times after promising me the last time that I would be guaranteed a dog .... she sold the dog on me before giving me the chance to get to her and leave a deposit these people are all out for the money only they don't care who they disappoint or who they let down I don't know how they all operate a business this way. Then she tells me that I need to phone her because she doesn't check her emails. I don't know why this business has an email on their website if they don't check their emails perhaps they should take their email address down and just have a phone number. Then she has the a oddasity to laugh on the phone with me to make a joke out of the fact that she sold this dog on me. Absolutely no apologies made on her behalf, horrible customer service skills. I purchased my little joy in July 2013 from Purdypuppy and I have nothing but thankfulness for these great people. I was not sure at first when I came to their residence but as soon as I entered I felt at ease. This is not a puppy mill at no means. The owners lives on a acreage of land and even raise chickens. The joy I purchased was clean and in great health, it was evident he was raised in a loving environment. My puppy to this day is healthy and is of good pedigree according to my vet. I have contacted purdy puppy a few months later to thank them and Angie still remembered him and how he liked to be rubbed on his belly. He is a shih tzu, not that friendly and only lies on his back for certain people so I knew she spent time with him. When we got him initially we didn't know he liked that. Bottom line is we had no issues and we are so happy with our little guy. I would highly recommend them. Yes they are not as intense as dealing with the fancy breeders but they will welcome back their puppies if people decide they can't take care of them (THIS HAPPENS A LOT WITH ANY PUPPY PURCHASES ANYWHERE) This is not my first dog, I have purchased shih tzus from breeders before my experience, it has not been different.
