It was a horrible experience with my dog and my cat, never had a vet that left the our pets and ourselves so stressed out.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. They…read morebotched an operation to have a family dog neutered, which should be something most vets do on a regular basis. The wound became infected and opened up . When the dog was brought back in yesturday , they seemed to only be concerned with charging 400 to redo the stitches . FIRST OF ALL . Since theres a visible infection, no surgery could happen . Sooo what exactly were they trying to do . They blamed the dog licking the area that caused it to open !???? No concern for pain the poor dog is in !!! Vets do inside stitches to deter them from being pulled at . The owner ( my daughters boyfriend) left having to buy antibiotics for the dog and some honey to help heal. Today , I called this VET telling them the wound totally opened even though the dog had the cone on and was in his kennel . I asked to speak to the VET who performed this horrible surgery and was told he was out of the country LOL NOT SURE I BELIEVED HER . IVE spoken with the COLLEGE OF ONTARIO VETERINARIANS and filed a formal complaint . Two new doctors looked at the dog today and advised the owner of the dog that the operation was NOT DONE PROPERLY!!!! Sooo most likely once the infection is gone he will , have to be restitched . THIS POOR DOG . Let alone now more money . This EAST BARRIE VET clearly is beyond incompetent and a dollar sign is all they care about . ANYONE WHO LOVES ANIMALS is warned NOT to bring your much loved pet to these horrible people .

They're well priced and most of the staff are very warm, relaxing and seemingly sincere, but…read moreunfortunately there's a few that are not, and have to recommend doing your own research, and keeping receipts - witness' or voice notes. 1. Wasn't informed/didn't consent to potential consequences of a procedure, that they knew a previous vet had talked me out of, and were aware that my understanding of potential consequences weren't accurate. Very small eye lump removed, returned over 10x the size with reoccurring infection. Pay close attention to advice from vets who discourage procedures and do your own research. I feel like a huge idiot for naively trusting and letting this happen. 2. Repeatedly refused to release records until CVO was mentioned. (Pictured) after reviewing other complaints, this seems to be their policy. 3. Records have conflicting information to both emails and memory, there's a mix of things that are provable and some not. False accusations are in writing. Should have recorded all appointments and calls. 4. Requested to resolve with vet more than once, aim to be very forgiving and don't want anything from them except to know that it won't happen to others, but they refuse to discuss. Was last told that they "highly encourage" that we report to the CVO. They already have staff that is listed as reported and disciplined. I get that it can be hard for business' to admit fault in case they're taken to court, and they know that most people don't have the time and energy to report and/or go to court. And of course it doesn't always feel good to face mistakes. But I'd bet that if they responded to issues as most vets seem to, they would find that most complainants just want what everyone wants, honesty, respect. Hopefully they realize that owning up to problems isn't so bad, is actually more efficient for everyone, sooner than later.

I took my puppy here to get neutered because my normal vet in Toronto (who I love) is incredibly…read moreexpensive for this procedure. I was given the recommendation to go here by a fellow dog owner and I saw that there were good reviews so I made the decision to take Bonzo here to get neutered. They did a great job with the surgery. My problem was with their employees. I got a call after his pre blood work was done and was told based on his results he either was dehydrated or had kidney disease. Keep in mind he was not allowed water since the night before, but I paid the $78 extra to get a further test done. I was told if it came back that he was dehydrated we would be good to go with the surgery. The test comes back and great news! He was just dehydrated so I said go ahead and she THEN tells me that I should let them test him for Addison's disease (another $78-$100). I said no because this was not something that would conflict with the surgery plus I didn't understand why this was not brought up when they first called me with the initial results. The employee then asked me if I knew whether my dog was 100% a Bernedoodle. After I assured her that I had met his parents and he was from a breeder she kept challenging me! Said they thought he had Portuguese Water Dog in him. I told her she was wrong and she all but hung up on me. I was quite angry that this went down. Especially since my dog was about to go under for surgery. So - overall good vet but they have some serious customer service skills to work out. Also, their credibility got thrown into question over the whole Addison's disease thing. I would not recommend this clinic to someone else for these reasons.
