I have ordered 3 machines with them and had major problems with all three. They replaced the last lemon with a new machine and it never worked. The tank gets dangerously hot. We had paid electricians and engineers to see if there was a problem with outlets or they could figure out. Customer service doesn't care. Nothing gets resolved and it's a lot of money to be ignored. Save yourself lots of hassle do not buy. They suck. They should have people be able to facetime with you or send someone out to help or replace faulty unit. They just hope you go away but the product is unreliable, pain in ass. read more

I cannot give them any stars. I am in the process of filing a small claims against them to get my money back. I have had 2 faulty machines in less than 4 years. One that almost started a fire in my basement. Luckily there was a serge protector on my electrical outlet. The second was the heating element went bad and the unit is less than a 1 year old. I went ahead and got a new heating element and I was told that a 75 year old could install it it was that easy. So I got the part and I went to the website of the company and they did not have any videos of the mega classic and how to switch out the heating element. So I called the company and they admitted that the video should of been made. I soon got the video and when I went to replace the element the video showed one person switching out the element, they said in the video it has a wing nut in the boiling tank I did not have such thing and it also took 2 people to switch it out and when I talked to someone about this they admitted too that it is not a one man job. So I turned on the machine and it still would not work. So i called the company and instead of sending out a new unit as one would think when one spends over $4,000.00 they wanted me to trouble shoot the machine as if I was an electrician/mechanical engineer. I was floored with what they made me do. I paid how much and this is the customer service I get. So I managed to meet their request and sent pictures. Now I am getting crickets back, no response. I was told too that they are going through some re-organization with the company but this is not an excuse to drop your customers and the service they should be providing. So given how they have treated me and having to give them tips on running their company I did not want to wait until they get all their eggs in a row to finally address my services which I paid for. So I have asked them for a refund and they agreed yet I am still waiting for a box to ship the machine back and getting my refund. Again all I am getting is crickets as to what the status is of my refind request. So hopefully when they get served they will be a tad more responsive. read more

The machine is perfectly invaluable. Cleans New York City tap water 'til it tastes like a clear mountain stream from the old days. But the main thing I wish to note is the people. First, you can actually call them up and they answer the phone! Holy Moly, remember that? Everyone there has spoken to me as though I were a neighbor, or at least an important customer, even if they had understandable trouble following my meandering questions:) I'd like to single out Karl, who takes care of servicing. I had had my Mini CT countertop baby for well over two years when I finally managed to crush the mechanism to tighten the lid; I had been severely (and ignorantly:) over-tightening the top every day for two and a half years when it finally began to protest my treatment. Spoke to Karl, who diagnosed the problem in a minute over the phone with a little help from a quick pic. He said I could send it to him and he'd fix or replace it. I of course expected to be charged since I had inflicted the damage. But it came back all perfect again-- with a 0.00 dollar invoice! During those 18 or 19 days without my machine (took USPS a full two weeks to get the lid from NYC to NE), I felt as though I was drinking from the toilet. You need this (100% AMERICAN-MADE) machine, even if you don't know it ;) My dad used to tell me to make the investment for quality tools: "You don't save money on tools; you spend money on tools-- which will save you money." Not only was it worth every penny, but has paid for itself several times over by now, saving us the 2 bucks a gallon for commercial distilled water in toxic plastic jugs-- as well as all the time and bother going to the store and carrying gallons of water back to the apt. God bless Pure & Secure for making an excellent and rather important product, and standing behind it like a good old honest business which makes something that helps people in the most basic and vital way. I am 65. I started using dense carbon filters in 1972. Then in 2000, I bought my first Pure Water Distiller! Very clean to the palate. Rain water has nothing in it either. My well has iron, phosphate, calcium and probably bacteria. Every day, we make two full gallons of clean pure distilled water. We keep a storehouse of 8 gallons at all times. When Irma hit our Florida area, We were storing 22 gallons of water in green wine bottles we found on the side of the road. We keep using them 20 yrs later. I think the fan is noticeable but it means we have great water to drink. Our dog lived 21 yrs and drank our distilled water. She had all her teeth when she passed away April 1, 2014. We feel great! This product is the distiller to buy. Strong and solid stainless steel top quality!!! Industrial grade quality!!!! Water tastes great. makes almost a gallon in 3.5 hours. fan is very quite we run ours at night while we sleep and in the morning we have great drinking water. I would recommend this distiller to anyone who does not want their water to touch any plastic. Everything on this distiller is stainless steel and made in U.S.A.!!! not China or India like most distillers are.
