I love this barre studio! All the instructors I've tried so far (Katie Gaddini, Ren Vardi, and…read moreanother name I can't recall) are excellent--they're attentive to individual class goers and try to help each person with form or offer modifications--to make an exercise either more challenging or more accessible. The studio is clean and well-kept, yoga mats are disinfected after every use. The floors are a finished cork material that are a little easier on the joints. The front desk staff are always kind and courteous. I always feel genuinely welcome whenever I come in, which is a huge reason why I keep returning. The parking situation is free street parking on Old County Rd. Usually there's at least a spot available, but give yourself a few minutes before class in case you need to maneuver into a spot on the opposite side of the road. One unique aspect of this studio is the play lounge. For a nominal fee and advanced reservation, a childcare provider can look after your child(ren) during your class, with plenty of toys and activity materials provided. So far I have not needed to use this perk, so I can't speak to experiences there, but it's still something special I have not seen at other fitness studios. Another thing to note is that a few of the classes are livestreamed, so if recording bothers you, just check the class at the time of booking. Most of the studio goers are women in their 20s-40s. I have seen several mature attendees and Katie was great about checking on them during more challenging poses in the mindful flow classes. Everyone wears fitness attire ranging from sports bras, tank tops, t-shirts, leggings, shorts etc. During the barre classes, many go barefoot, some choose to wear grippy socks. I love the judgment-free environment here. We are all at different stages of our fitness journey, and everyone is welcome in this studio.

I finally started and wasn't sure if I would stick to it since I favor high intensity workouts. I am now 1.5 months in, have joined the monthly membership and building this routine and consistency into my life. I love the breathing that takes place and it's been a really nice form of de-stressing (full time working mom of 2 kids). I've taken classes from different instructors and what I love is that each class is taught a little differently; they have their own routines. I have not felt like I've taken the same class twice. They really help you with adjustments and while I felt like I kept getting corrected, they're really intentional about helping you improve on your form and most importantly, being safe with your body. All the instructors and front desk receptionists are friendly. I'm really enjoying this new community. If you're looking to get back into being active, get curious and take a class!

I joined back in 2022 when I lived in San Bruno, and there was even a time when I was unemployed that I would come twice a day. This studio offers a huge variety of classes, and the instructors are truly the best - so passionate, knowledgeable, and motivating. I've also gotten to know the owner, Leila, and I have the utmost respect for her for creating such a welcoming, community-centered space. She's always open to feedback and is constantly looking for ways to elevate the experience and make sure members are really getting their money's worth. I showed up 5 minutes early and instead of focusing on onboarding or safety, the staff prioritized forcing me to create a marketing account and hand over my email before class. Nobody asked about **my knee pain** or offered workout modifications like Basecamp or Burlingame Fitness did. I was thrown into a dark room mid-class with no idea where my station was, what weights to use, or even how to start(!) the treadmill, while the oversized class made it impossible for the instructor to notice I was struggling. I had to stop multiple times just to change weights and restart. Change and restart. In the end, I lost the class credit and time. The whole experience felt like corporate lead-generation and profit mattered far more at Barry's than the safety and success of new members.

But unfortunately, the experience with their policy and customer support has been frustrating enough that I'm seriously reconsidering coming back. I've been dealing with a prolonged illness, and per their own policy, clients with symptoms are not allowed to attend class (which I fully respect). But when I reached out to explain my situation, I was only given a two-week extension -- no flexibility, no empathy, just a firm deadline. When I tried to use the remaining classes before expiration, I did not show up due to a worsening cough at the day of class-- again, trying to be responsible and follow their rules. I then received a late cancel/no show warning email, which said I'd normally be charged an extra $15 fee on top of the class I already paid for, just for being too sick to attend. Although the fee was waived this time, the tone of the message and the overall approach felt more like a punishment system than a client-centered one. The policy is confusing, rigid, and completely lacking in support for people dealing with health issues. It left me feeling discouraged and unwelcome -- not something I expect from a wellness studio.

They don't have a reception area so I was a little lost walking in but I just followed what everyone else was doing. The workout itself was fine. Compared to the classes I took in the past I didn't find the instructor to be helpful. When I got home I got an email about my bill from Pilates V which was a charge for grip socks which I did not purchase. I ended up reaching out to management for a refund. There was a couple back and forth with the emails where I had to reach out for updates. It did become a bit frustrating because I didn't talk to the instructor at all but was told that the instructor said it was me that purchased. In the end I received my refund which I was thankful for however I feel like this could have been solved in a more efficient way. I ended up not using the rest of the Groupon classes but it's a loss I would rather take than take more classes.
